[Nougat][ROM][HAM]CARBON ROM CR-5.1 WITH ROOTLESS SUBS By Anush MADATHUMKARA - Zuk Z1 Android Development

Who's back? We're back.
CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Thanx to JAI ACHARYA , YAZAD MADAN AND KISHAN PATEL WHO HELPED ME IN DOING IT...
Special thanx to Ordenkrieger for his device sources.....
ROM :- bit.ly/2plhkAF
This ROM has some minor bugs....
Don't flash SOUND MODS for now as it's not so stable .....

Screenshots please

The firmware is still wet, transferred to 50%, built Launcher3 do not know why, sound not working, the menu buttons are flawed at all, the OTA is not working of course. If you are going to support their work to correct deficiencies.

I'm going to get flak for this: rant about the current state of TBolt and XDA

I've written a blog post about my thoughts about Thunderbolt development and XDA forums. It's somewhat inflammatory, but I offer a few suggestions on how things can be better.
Full disclosure: I'm a sysadmin and an OSS developer. I haven't contributed to Android development but I do contribute in several OSS projects.
I personally like Xda and the community it has. The devs put in alot of hard work for free to the rest of us.
I do too - however, it can be made better for aspiring developers. My perception is that if you want to contribute code to these ROM projects, it's nearly impossible to get started, ignoring everything that anyone would have to learn about the Linux kernel and Android SDK.

No flames from me. While I like xda, all your points are valid and if anything you ignored some of the worst parts...e.g. Flaming, lack of respect, and other things that I see more often than I'd like when they aren't really warrented.
That said, ive seen much worse on other foss mailing lists, but at least in those cases its about code, not people.

So you want ROM threads to have a few posts only by the developer and have developers respond to emails to help users? Some developers enjoy helping others hence why they distribute their work for free and spend the time to make posts. The other questions are answered by other members who know how to resolve issues to a point. The fact you use that as a reason this site "sucks" is simply ridiculous. But that's just my opinion just like you gave your opinion.
I do agree with the CM7 issue to an extent. It shouldn't be on one man who has a job and a big family. Others should be helping and the code for everything should be available for others in the community to help get it finished and ready for final release. But with that said he is doing quite a lot and for one man he has done quite well IMO.
Seriously?
You try to start an intentional flame war with a hot topic that's been beaten like a dead horse and then write a blog post (presumably on your own blog because I'm not giving you traffic by clicking on it) so you can get free traffic by link baiting and most likely free ad revenue from it. Pathetic.

[Q] Help Choosing a ROM

I am looking for a good ROM for my Nexus 5. I am looking for a ROM that is rock solid stable and is good on battery life. Features in a ROM are nice but I don't need all kinds of features. Stability and battery life are more important to me than extra features. Currently I am running purity ROM which I like but I still occasionally get bug reports that pop up so the stability is not perfect. Anyone have any good suggestions for me? I hope this is not against the forum rules. I did read the sticky. I am not asking for "The best ROM". I just want to know what ROM is a good one for me based on what I have told you. I really don't have time to flash ROMS and test them all for myself.
Disclaimer:
I know this is probably a common question but please refrain from telling me to search, try ROMs for myself, or tell me something like it is all up to user preference. I am asking a question in the questions board and if you have some good insight for me please post. If you don't just move along please. I am a college student and don't have time right now to flash all kinds of ROMS and try them for myself.

I have tried a few ROMs out myself and i seem to always go back to Catacylsm http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518660 with Franco Kernel. Best battery life/Performance I've found

These types of questions are not allowed on XDA. Head ver to the development section, try some out and see which best suits your needs..

3Minit battery mod (compatibility)

Those that have been around Android for a while know that in the days prior to Lollipop, we could use custom batteries. This was one of the things that we enjoyed and made our devices stand out.
In Lollipop, Google took that away and while we still have a few custom batteries (circle, dotted, landscape, etc) we don't have as many.
Cue the 3Minit battery mod which promised to fill this void and does it well.

The problem with it was not the app nor the code behind it but the maintainers behind it. Some decided to play God with it and hold it over people's head. Things like "I'm not providing support for this ROM" were said for no real reason but because they didn't like an individual involved with the ROM.
I and many members of the open source community saw this as petty BS. If you're going to provide a mod then is either all or nothing. If you don't want to provide support then take your toys and keep it to yourself.
Well long story short, this is no longer something we have to deal with. Thanks to the help of my friend and fellow developer @bigrushdog and the actual 3Minit developer @gharrington , open source developers can now add the necessary code to make the app work flawlessly in their custom ROM.
No begging some random user to add support or petty games of favoritism.
All you (the custom ROM developer) would have to do is cherry pick these two commits and that's it!

Direct your users to the support thread for general app support and/or links to the app

Out of courtesy for the great work that @gharrington has done, maybe throw a thanks in your thread for him
Enjoy and long live open source!!

Is this still applicable for nougat ?
When I try to cherry-pick the commits I get 'fatal: bad object " error.

THE BRAND NEW Version 2.6 of PentestSuite
@gulizhiguhao
I'd appreciate if our members can also ask you everything they want to know here on XDA and that they don't need to go to Telegram for that. It might be advisable to review the XDA Forum Rules in toto but with special emphasis on rules no. 5 and no. 11!
And regarding your last post: When will you free, or community app how you call it, updated to v2.7?

I am still working on that version, and it's expected to be released in the following 3 weeks since you have noticed that quite a lot of features will be added so it takes time to build and make sure everything goes smoothly and perfectly.
And if it's not adequate to post telegram group here I will delete that post later.

Version 2.7.0 has been released!
This new design for message blocker will provide you the power of intercepting specific message you want and tamper it on the fly.
You can add, delete, change any rules in the scope settings dialog.
Hey guys, do you feel good to add vulnerability scanner in #PentestSuite?
And what kind of vulnerability scanner is prefered? Could you share your mind?
#xss #bugbounty #bugbountytips #hackerone #infosec #xsspayloads #hacking #ethicalhacking #infosec #whitehat
Hackers submit vulnerabilities in order to beg for a little return, which is humble enough. The restrictions on private bounty programs have left companies without any hooligan costs. #bugbounty #bugbountytips #infosec #hacking #ethicalhacking #infosec #whitehat #cybersecurity
In the next version of PentestSuite., PentestSuite 3, you will get a really faster and cooler way to set up your hacking environment.
1 Create or select a project
2 Install the certificate with the help from a handy button
It's about a yeah. I am still stick to this project. It maybe hard to solve every problem perfectly. And it maybe looks like an endless process. All I know is: Never give up.
Now PentestSuite 3.2 Community has been upload for release
