I've heard about the Ping Pong root method that lets you root the GS6 without tripping Knox, but does that mess up Samsung Pay? All the threads I've seen are from mid 2015, nothing more recent. Any ideas?

Ping Pong Root only works on lollipop, if you're on mm then the only root methods will trip knox which in turn breaks samsung pay.

Hi,
I am really tempted to root my work phone and I am totally digging these Temporary Root methods like TowelRoot and KingRoot where the root is lost upon reboot. I haven't been able to find a clear answer and I figured i'd ask here.
Can someone tell me if these methods trips the KNOX warranty counter? I have a Note 4 and like I said, it's a work phone and I wouldn't want any issues down the road if I left the company or whatever.
I would be open to hearing if there are permanent root methods that don't trip KNOX as well for the Note 4.
Thx in advance.
I found this older thread:

Where they are saying it doesn't trip knox, but I'm not sure about now in 2015.

That thread is for Note 3.
By the way, Latest Kingroot doesn't trip the Knox.
Anyway, you could ask it in the Note 4 Forum here.
Does ping pong root work with 5.1.1? At stock everything, just got the phone over the weekend and want to get into rooting and modding but don't want to trip Knox counter. Is ping pong root still a viable option?
edit: Found out that it can't be done. Sorry for the thread.
Hi
Does anyone know if a ping pong root method for 5.1.1 is being developed that will not trip knox? My current build ends in OI9.

Now that you have OI9 there is no way to make root without tripping knox.
I bought the s6 this week, i really need the root unfortunatly they already had 5.1.1 installed with build version ending in Ol9. So this means i can not get root without breaking its warranty?
And what would stop working when knox is activated?
Thanks for any help i really appreciate it
I have tried KingoRoot with no success and I do not want to trip my KNOX warranty with CFRoot.
You can't root 5.1.1 FW Without tripping Knox atm yet.

Would you recommend any tools for an easy root/unroot? PingPongRoot doesn't support my model yet.
Is there any one click root method? I tried Root Genius and it also failed.

As mentioned before, there is no root method for 5.1.1 that doesn't trip KNOX.
All Samsung devices that received the 5.1.1 update (Note 4, Note Edge, S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus and Note 5), have got security patches that prevent root.
The only way to root 5.1.1 devices is by using a Custom Kernel which trips KNOX.
I have an s9 plus (exynos) so I know I can root my phone but I'm still worried about tripping Knox.
There's also towelroot which doesn't trip knox and if you do not install a custom rom no harm will be done to Knox.
My question is now if Towelroot will work with the S9+, some say it will some say it won't .
If towelroot is the way to go how about installing root (supersu or magisk) can this be done without installing another bootloader?
As far as I know installing another bootloader will also harm Knox
Towelroot hasn't worked for years now. It's only for pre-Lollipop devices. The only way to root now is to unlock the bootloader and trip Knox.
lmao.. yea, towelroot is super old...
