Itried unlocking, But after entering the unlock code, i got this error:
(bootloader) Failed to erase partition
(bootloader) General Unlock failure!
(bootloader) OEM unlock failure!
FAILED (remote failure)
After that my screen went blank and i unplugged my device. On boot up it did show that the bootloader is unlocked. Also my phone was formatted as it was supposed to be.
In fastboot menu also it does show : "Device status: unlocked"
What does all of those failed messages mean then?
I Flash TWRP & CM 12 earlier everything works well...but one day I back to stock ROM which also locked the bootloader. Then I try to unlock the bootloader with earlier unlock code but it giving error like
(bootloader) Failed to erase partition
(bootloader) General unlock failure!
(bootloader) OEM unlock failure

If you want to restore to stock just use RUU. its easier.
NOTE-Bootloader must be locked with stock restore

ok you need to start from beggining again.
What recovery you have installed?
what ROM you had before this problem?
forget what fastboot tells you and look at bootloader yourself and see if says lockeded or Reloocked tempered.
are you using original HTC usb cable?

downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.219s]

Then you need to flash a boot.img and a recovery.img.
Make sure you have the proper ones for your firmware

I cant boot into bootloader because "adb devices" doesnt find my phone. Or am I doing something wrong? Maybe you have time for a short teamviewer session to have a look yourself?

Hello,
So I have been using my Shield Tablet just fine for the past few years but now its locked on the Nvidia logo when it boots up, I've tried going into recovery mode to factory reset but then it just hangs on "No Command" I noticed that the bootloader is locked so I got ABD and fastboot. Once I setup the tablet to register in fastboot devices, I then use 'fastboot oem unlock' like it says to from the Nvidia support forums, but it fails and gives this command. Can anyone help me out to figure out what is wrong?
.... > fastboot oem unlock

(bootloader) erasing userdata done
(bootloader) erasing cache...

fastboot: error: Command failed
Any advice would be helpful
