Bluetooth always off after boot/restart - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

Sorry if this has been asked, but could not find anything with a search.
Asking for my dad, I'm unfamiliar with this phone and Nougat (I have a Z5c, still on Lollipop(!)).
His problem is that he wants bluetooth on at all times, but every time he shuts the phone off - on restart bluetooth is off. So he needs to manually turn bluetooth on every time.
Is this a bug or feature, and if bug is it specific to Nougat 7.0? He is on build 39.2.A.0.442.
Thanks in advance.

me too have that problem.

Bluetooth suddenly stopped working

Hey guys,
yesterday I noticed that Bluetooth is switched off on my S7. I tried to switch it on again, but the slider/button in the bluetooth menu just stays gray, even though it moved to the right. It looks like the phone is not able to start blutooth for whatever reason. WiFi works without a flaw. My phone is completely stock, no root, no knox, no custom rom. I'm on stock rom G935FXXU1DQJ1
Any ideas how to fix this?
Try to perform a hard reset. Maybe there is a bug in your phone.

Well I was hoping to find a solution without having to wipe everything. Without knowing if it will fix the issue, it would take me several hours of lifetime to setup the phone from scratch.
Ok - this is very strange. I'm still using the phone currently as it is and I'm wearing my Gear S2 smartwatch to at least know what time it is, but throughout the day bluetooth actually turned a few times on, synchronized with the watch and suddenly switch off again.
I was trying to stream music to a bluetooth speaker during one of the phases in which bluetooth was working, but the music stops after several seconds and bluetooth switches off again.
What the ....?
Ok I think I fixed it. Resetting all connectivity settings did the trick for me. Although I now need to reconnect to all the devices and WiFis. Still better then doing a factory reset

Bluetooth (disable itself on wake up)

Hi,
I want to ask if someone else has the problem that if the bluetooth is enabled
it automatically disabley if you put your phone to standby and wake it up again?
It happens with my phone even if a device is connected or not :/
- My device is locked and Stock 5.1.5
// EDIT: The Solution was to uninstall FireChat. Don't know why but this programm was the reason for the disconnects.
Maybe not the same issue, but mine has been disabling bluetooth every 5 minutes. Been driving me crazy and I'm currently troubleshooting it now. As far as I've been able to tell something is calling disable() on the bluetooth adapter (in catlog at least).
EDIT: Turning off bluetooth scanning in location settings seems to have fixed my issue.
I had the same problem on Oneplus 6. Indeed, uninstalling firechat helped.

Bluetooth loses devices after sleep

Any help with this issue would be very appreciated! I've had this from the very beginning where after the device goes to sleep, then wakes again the bluetooth devices disappear from the paired list, plus it won't find anything when you search. After you hard reboot it works perfectly again until you next put it to sleep. This means the OBDII won't connect in Torque, phone won't connect etc until you reboot every time you get in the car which is major pain.
- I've tried replacing the bluetooth module with a USB and physically removing the onboard one.
- Replacing MTCManager with a version that doesn't kill any services/apps during sleep
- Using the whitelist from Graser Dasaita's tool
- Tried multiple ROM's
Unfortunately I'm at the end of my Android knowledge so not sure what to try next. Seems like its some kind of service that gets killed? Weirdly it will sometimes for no apparent reason randomly reconnect when I'm driving along.
Please help!
Running PX5, Maylask Android 6.0.1 (ROM version 7.2)
I've since discovered the system service "bluetoothservice" gets killed which is probably causing my issue. How do you automatically start a service on wake? Any suggestions?
I had white listed "bluetooth com.microntek.bluetooth" but I also needed to white list bluetoothservice android.microntek.mtcservice still doesn't work though.

Hi !
What do you mean by removed?
I have a similar issue.

Networks disconnect with work profiles :@

Hi all,
I have searched for any past references to this issue quite a bit but found nothing in here so thought I would ask. Maybe my searching skills are not good
Whenever an app that requires aGPS starts, both my sims and my wifi disconnect and reconnect in a continuous loop. This has started happening since I factory reset my phone and then installed my company's work profile in the summer. I had a look on the OnePlus forums and it's a known issue since the beginning of the year but OP have done nothing about it. I need my work profile because of course I work a lot from my phone and even though a recommended fix is to switch off location services so that this doesn't happen, location for me is a very important function on my phone.
Does anybody know of any solution to this that I couldn't find? Am I going to have to go the route of a custom ROM to address this? I haven't had a phone with a custom ROM since my XDA IIs so really don't want to do this
Thank you in advance!
nobody? . . .

Custom ROM Bluetooth Issues

Hi, All
So, I'm trying to run custom ROMs as I want to set my HID_DEV_MTU_SIZE to 512 for amiibos, but every time I boot up the phone or manually turn Bluetooth on, it just says "turning on" and then turns itself off again, then back on, then off, then back on, then off... I can't get it to see any nearby bluetooth devices and the about section doesn't even show a Bluetooth address. It isn't an issue when I have stock OTA Android 10 installed, though...
I've reinstalled both Lineage 17 and Bliss more times than I can count, tried adding qcom.bluetooth.soc=smd to build.prop, disabling A2DP hardware offload; nothing works.
I've done a logcat several times, and it always comes up with bluetooth has died, not sure if that's of any help, though.
I know there have been other threads about this, but none of the solutions on those have helped, so apologies for starting another one.
I'm really lost at this point, any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!
Update: I installed Pixel experience and bluetooth works fine on there!
