Wifi Direct for Nexus S????

I am wondering why I simply cannot find any way to install Wifi Direct onto my Nexus S. When ICS came out tons of articles like
androidauthority,com/nexus-s-how-to-enable-face-unlock-44254
< this one popped up all around Google. (I can't post links yet so please change the ,com into a period) Is there any way to get Wifi Direct on the Nexus S too? I think it's a really underrated phone. I have heard that changing roms may help but i have heard about all these issues with roms and missing features so i would prefer to stay stock.

http://www.androidauthority.com/nexus-s-how-to-enable-face-unlock-44254/ is an example of what im talking about. Is there anything like this but with wifi direct instead of face unlock?

Some issues. The developer is tring to solve it.In the thread there are some patch for fix bugs. But only this rom has got the wifi direct.

How to get Default lockscreen back after doig ota update of 59 mb?????

Hi all,
I updated the ota update available.
I noticed my lockscreen got changed.
Any idea how to get it back??

If you are referring to 2.3.6 update, then yes the lock screen got changed from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6

What A2 variant do you own? ATT Version or International Version? Can you tell us what firmware version are you in now? check it in settins, about the phone and tell as all the relevant info.

My ATT A2's lockscreen hasn't change after 2.3.6 OTA..

There is no change in the lock screen from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. At least not on the MB865 AT&T version.

Guys, I am sure he has either the MEARET or SEARET firmware. The Indian version of the lock screen changed in 2.3.6 it was a late update back in May/June.
To the OP, no you can not change the default stock lock screen back to the old one. If you don't like this one, go grab go locker or something like it in the play store.

If that's the case might I recommend Widget Locker? Available on the play store for a small price and WELL worth it.
Allows customization of MANY different lock screens and allows you to place widgets on them as well.

So I did my daily morning check for updates, expecting the same result, and IT STARTS DOWNLOADING!!!!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing!! WE FINALLY ARE GETTING MARSHMALLOW!!!!!!!!! Apparently the status on the T-Mobile Update page is not accurate lol!!!!

Doze just comes on by itself, hey betterbatterystats xda version and you'll see your doze time. Also can anyone package this up for an Odin flash?

Not sure. I haven't got too deep into flashing on this phone, as there's not a heck of a lot to flash. Typically no, you would need to be stock odex and stock recovery to take an ota

me too , i have this update 2 days ago , only changes i noticed :
* my hand free stopped working with my htc a9 and now its back again
*have new app called ""HTC VIP" , but its not working in my country

@k2buckley yeah, what a shame :/ i guess i'll have to wait and see what's new with this ota. it was a pain in the arse to get all things done yet i have some issues.

I'm getting that annoying notification about the system update. I'm just rooted with twrp. What would be the best way to update?

Have a look in Post TWRP Recovery #2
chapter 8,9 and 10.
NB: Download and save the ota in your sd card (you'll find it in /data/data/com.htc.updater). You could share it for XDA members...

Only thing I've noticed is we have an option for the fingerprint scanner to wake the screen and use it as a home button.

it was already there. i think it's just some improvements and bug fixes.

Android Security Patch is updated to June 1, 2017.

patch came through 6/29/2017.
update went smooth. Everything seems stable.

Hi all. This update from T-Mobile is causing serious MODEM problem to my S7 Edge G935T, I can't get any access to internet over LTE. Only Wi-Fi i can used, PICTURE message is problem. I call T-Mobile and they say Samsung didn't test the update so now a lot of S7 Edge user have to go best buy Samsung store for them to downgrade the software.

I have downgrade it my self, when 7 different security patch back, even to ANDROID 6.0 the problem still persist.
Normally used the U FIRMWARE with T-Mobile CP for better speeds. Now I'm running more test, I did standard T-Mobile update from software version 4BQB1, so far I'm updating my apps only on LTE, looks good now. Will see what happens in a few hours.

Just bought my S7E used and ran this latest OTA update... it sent me into boot loops that persisted through multiple master reset, cache clearing etc. even in safe mode. Used Odin to roll back to the C1 update and all is good. Will probably try to update again this weekend.

Has anyone else spotted anything new?

I have noticed that the backgrounds have changed wallpapers for the Always on Display.
Neat enhancement if you use this feature.
Has anyone else spotted anything new?
