Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge G935F using it in the US. On my stock firmware it shows the LTE icon. I installed a couple of ROMS but the icon shows 4g. I did a speed test and the results were good. Will I always get the 4g icon instead of the LTE icon on these custom roms? Any replies are greatly appreciated.

4G and LTE are the same thing on your device, nothing has changed about your signal type, you are still receiving LTE signal, the only thing different is the actual icon you are seeing.

By the way, you can modify your status bar to show the icons of your choice, you can change them all by modifying a few system apps or by using Xposed.

Hello everyone,
I posted this question over at the q&a section but i figured out maybe I was in the wrong section that's why I'm not getting any replies.
Anyway, I'm having some slight problem with my Samsung Omnia. It's from UK's vodafone but it has been unlocked and everything. Just received it today,
When I tried to make a call with it, the screen shows "Dialing..." and about 2 seconds later, it changed to "Call Ended". This seems weird to me. I can receive incoming calls though, as well as send and receive messages.
I tried to check the network settings and everything seemed fine. Later on, I realized there is a weird icon on the top right hand side of my screen, as shown in the attachment picture. Might this icon be the source of this problem?
Thanks for any advice in advance.
No, that icon has nothing to do with it. Your NETWORK ICON at the top bar indicates that you have full network coverage, so, my assumption is the following:
Your OMNIA is from UK VODAFONE and I think that the people made some mistakes during the unlocking / unbranding. Maybe they flashed a generic ROM for unbranding purposes and the RADIO ROM is not compatible or corrupt. Try to reflash your device with the original shipped VODAFONE ROM first and see how it works, then take it from there and try to find the correct generic ROM for your particular device.
Thanks for your reply!
Had managed to flash it to a more stable rom and it worked! Thanks!
Anyway, am still curious, what's the icon for?
Thanks again Junner2003
Hello everyone,
I got my note 3 (n9005) from 3 and unlocked it using Chainfire Regional unlock. Now everything is working 100%, i am using xnote 5.1 which is working like a charm. just one strange thing which is bugging me a lot. There are lots of @ symbols showing next to carrier name which is EE (see screenshot). Its not really stopping anything on the phone, i am getting really good data and voice signals, wifi works fine as well.
Can anyone shed some light on this? or maybe if someone can offer any solution?
Thanks all in advance
Could possibly be a slight bug in the carrier display on the ROM, you can edit the carrier name manually using Wanam Xposed to add what you like to the carrier name or remove it totally (and probably some other mods also)

I do understand you can change it using Wanam Xposed but the problem with that is it change the name permanently, e.g. when you mobile is out of service or no signals it still keeps showing the carrier name.

Ahh true, you could reflash your ROM or post in the dev thread he may know about it and issue a fix, like I said it may be a slight bug.
Hello everyone, I have a question. There is way to show connection icon (ie E, H, H+, etc) instead R in roaming? or both?
I have a Nexus 5, with 4.4.2 and stock Rom .
Thanks in advance.

I would like to have a solution for this issue as well!
It shouldn't be too complicated but I found nothing so far
Unfortunately Google didn't change the AOSP signal indicator in Lollipop.

Hmm. Not *too* complicated but still complicated enough. It needs a code rewrite. Easier on AOSP
Depending on what you are trying to accomplish I can maybe help you. See this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...od-loose-roaming-r-mvno-home-network-t2969702
Hey guys, wondering if anyone else is seeing the "DC" icon on their OPO, IE where it shows H/H+/LTE
On my S4 I used to see a DC icon in the status bar to show I was connected to DC-HSDPA, but my OPO never shows this, I'm wondering if I'm missing a settng somewhere, or that CM11S simply doesn't show DC, and just shows H+ for all types of 3G until it picks up LTE.
Can anyone confirm?
Thanks in advance!

You answered your own question.
I thought that would be the case, thanks for confirming
Let me first start off by saying that I just signed up here as it looked like a good forum to be a part of for mobile device mods, etc. Also I hope that I'm not coming off on the wrong foot by immediately seeking help and info for my device.
The above being said I'm looking for a bit of input and knowledge as to how I could go about converting my Korean model Samsung Galaxy s8+ to be more like the standard common US model? Some things that are bundled or part of the phone is strictly Korean only one of these things being the web browser and also a few other things.
Also because of this being a Korean Korea Telcom model s8 it gets weather via my sim or service provider. I tried to change / add my current location to get weather for my current location but it was a no go. Also the phone is unlocked though at times I occasionally get the no service icon pop up in which I'm unable to make or receive calls. And if this is a help my current wireless carrier is AT&T.
Any and all help and info would be greatly appreciated regarding how I can go about converting or making this device as close to possible as the US model.
