Im on EE UK, and after reading the XDA communitee, Ive learned that:
I download the "E" version of 712 OTA file from Googles site.. Im also aware that adb SDK 2504 iis snt working so I need 2503, Iam also aware if because iam simply sideloading the 712 update onto an unrooted, clean 711, then i dont need to unlock the bootloader..
however, alot of the websites and forum posts Ive read are all asking many different questions, so:
Can anyone point me to a good thread or advice ..
Thanks folks
Check this website and it should give you the idea/instructions: https://9to5google.com/2016/12/05/how-to-sideload-android-7-1-1-nmf26o-onto-the-pixel/

Hi There,
Since i'm curious about the G1 phone, I bought one. it's a dutch Tmobile locked with firmware 1.1
Question, can i unlock the thing and/or can i root/jailbreak the device??
I tried with some guides, found here, but until now no luck.
Cheers
If you had used the search you would have found out for yourself that the answer is that we have to wait, I actually have the same problem. There is an exploit that might be a way to get root access, see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482721, but for now we're stuck with what we have.
If you want more information then search for 123099 (the build number) on these forums or just on Google, there's a lot of information you can gather that way.
I did search, both on google and here. I'm not from yesterday
Since the g1 is my second device (main device is and will be the iP.... ;D)
But wanted to be sure about it.
Btw, thnx for you reply anyway!
Hey everyone im new here, im a noob with everything related to android.

Network Unlock
As far as haveing a Unlocked phone if it is unlocked to work on any network , AT&T , T-mobile , etc. , you can update , root , flash rom's anything you want it will not affect your network unlock. Hope this help's ya out.
Hi i am new to the droid community got this fone as a gift from a bufdy of mines, got tonrun it on metro pcs network was really to setup. Anyways i update to ota with out doin no reaseach seems like i am stuck with 4.4.4 my question is there a way to root xt10180 non dev or temp root??? Can someone guide me the rite direction thank u
P.s if this is not the rite place pls move post t.y
Considering there is other sections more appropriate than the "Dev" sections for a question or concern, this would certainly not be the right place to ask.
But to answer your question, no. If your BL(bootloader) is locked, you have OEM/Stock recovery, and are on 4.4.4 you are screwed. It appears the Ultra is no longer being supported by anyone capable of finding a method to root. However, you can PAY for a BL unlock code, but it apparently has not been successful for everyone so I personally havent tried and would not pay the premium and possibly get nothing in return. At 4.4.4, you are unable to downgrade to older versions capable of root. Unless someone releases a method of bypassing the stock restrictions - you may have to wait until the next update. Only problem with that is the day after you update, if you choose to, someone may release a tool or method to bypass those security measures. However, if you dont update immediately you may possibly miss the window of opportunity to use a crack-able version of an OTA and wind up being stuck with too new of a version (I am not 100% sure on this last statement, as its been awhile since I was fully involved in the dev world). Hope this answered your question.
Yeah know I am stuck on this version. N I also won't pay for no bl that's not going to work. If someone do come out with a crack version I am willing to donate. I miss been root man. I hope someone do come out with a way to bypass this restrictions. I know they are a lot of smart ppl out there, that can help us noobs lol.

Hi,
I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I will start here and see where it leads me. Not sure what type of processor the USA phones have.
I am currently using an SM-G930V Galaxy S7 phone originally bought from Verizon, but now used on MetroPCS. (USA)
Since MetroPCS uses T-Mobiles network, I wanted to flash my phone over to t-mobile, so I can get band 12, etc. and get better utilization / reception from the phone.
My concern is that I have never done this process before, and do not want to brick my phone.
I do have my current configuration backed up, using smart switch on my laptop.
Has anybody developed a guide, or instructions?
How difficult, or simply is the process?
How safe / risky is doing it?
Can I actually ruin my phone trying to do this?
Which software version do I use? the U version, or the T version?
Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions you may have to offer
Mark M
Yes a lot of people have made multiple tutorials for this, and they are all over this forum if you read some threads
If you don't like that answer, imagine how annoying it is for long term members here to have to keep typing out the exact same instructions every day to new members who don't read anything
heres a link for the U firmware QD2 update just download that and odin and use odin to update your phone. Its perfectly safe to use the U firmware on all US variants. Any questions don`t be scared to ask.

Asking questions is fine if they are questions that are not easy to know / find the answers to, or you're having a problem
It's a joke when you come to XDA and make a new thread asking how to flash your phone, that info is literally all over this forum, it just shows laziness
Hi I have scoured the net looking for the firmware for the unlocked version of the phone. Is anyone willing to upload theirs. If not, can I use T-mobile version firmware as a substitute?
Woops, please move this to questions.
Hi balmyplank I don't know if youre still monitoring this thread but I posted something a couple days go but still no luck. Hopefully it will show up someday on the net.
