Does Magisk work with LOS 13? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been wondering if magisk works on our device. I need to know just in case I need to install an app that has safetynet. Has anyone installed it succesfully?

try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/guide-bypass-safetynet-mm-custom-rom-t3534709
maybe it works
installing magisk is not the problem. magisk do his job well so far. the only problem is safetynet. the safetynet check wont pass.
saftynet is only needed if you want to use e.g. android pay or pokemongo usw.

So even if I enable magiskhide, safetynet still won't pass?

Have you spent any time reading or researching this at all?
Yeah I installed Xposed and after that magisk told me safetynet is tripped I found something else on xda about suhider for Xposed but it was last update around October. And pixel 2 was out later than that. Therefore idk if it's compatible that's why I'm here asking for advice
Edit: I misread Xposed suhide wasn't for Xposed https://www.google.ro/amp/s/forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/suhide-lite-t3653855/amp/
I hid play store and Snapchat and Xposed with magisk but the safetynet is still tripped

I forgot to quote you
You will not pass safety net with Xposed installed, even systemless xposed. To pass you will need to disable the Xposed Magisk module.

Google pay error

Running stock ROM not rooted, getting this error? .. bootloader is unlocked though
Google has Google pay check for an unlocked bootloader. If you are unlocked it will fail, you do not have to be rooted just bootloader unlocked for Safteynet to fail. You might as well install Magisk and let it hide that you are unlocked and rooted if you wish to use Google Pay. If you do not want to root, then just relock the bootloader, JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE STOCK RECOVERY AND NO CUSTOM RECOVERY INSTALLED. Otherwise you will brick your device. Also, be aware that relocking your bootloader will wipe all internal data off the phone so backup any photos, files, anything of importance before relocking bootloader.

Strange... on my OP 6 with unlocked bootloader and Magisk root, Google Pay runs fine. And even Magisk Hide was not enabled for Google Pay (now it is).

What are you talking about? I've been using Magisk with passing safetynet since it came out a couple years ago. I just used Google Pay times today with no issues.
The issue is Google will fail Safetynet if you just have an unlocked bootloader and no magisk installed to pass the safetynet checks.

What I'm talking about is what I'm experiencing. I've magisk installed, Google Pay is ticket to magisk hide, along with other apps, and they all detect root

please dont give users the wrong impression
Magisk DOES hide it.
i have an unlocked bootloader, TWRP, MAGISK, and a custom kernel installed
and ive been using google pay for the past week without issues.
Why would I give users wrong impression? It's happening to me!!! Just because it doesn't happen to you or others then it cannot be true?
I've also an unlocked bootloader, TWRP and Magisk installed and Magisk is not hiding specific apps. Simple as that.

Then Magisk must not be installed properly. You must have done something wrong is all I can think of. I use Google pay 2-5 times a day without issue and on the OnePlus 6 since launch, zero issues.

Maybe delete the Magisk APK/zip you have and download a fresh copy then.

Done that, but made no difference. Just reading on another thread that it appears to be an issue for many.
Magisk Hide works fine out of the box (no alterations) with Google Pay for me.
Historically, when it fails it's because Magisk is out of date.
hallo dare, if you want help, post your Magisk Manager's landing page, then another of your test results. Past that, you should head over to the Magisk XDA thread.
Edit:
I guess I forgot to mention I am on the BETA channel - so not exactly without alteration.

Thanks Orito,
Yeah I'll do just that. Can you please post the magisk you flashed and I'll try it please.
I flashed the 16.4.
I'm running 16.42. In Magisk.
Open Magisk Manager.
Menu.
Settings.
Update Channel -> Beta
Check for Updates -> Enabled
Close Magisk Manager completely.
Reopen.

Fortnite root bypass (discussion only)

As you may have noticed, Epic Games decided to prevent us rooted users from playing.
So let's start this thread until (or if there will ever be one) a bypass is made.

The game literally came out just a couple of hours before I made this thread. How am I supposed to find a solution on Google?
Hey I found the Solution to play Fortnite on a Rooted device! Here-
https://youtu.be/3fax10EwNpU
So google can be your friend it seems
The game does start ok but as soon as you leave the battleship the game stops and tells you it don't work on rooted devices and if you try bypassing it you'll be banned. the video in the above post didn't get that far
Hey, I try to hide the root by using Magisk tool but the server kick me while the game start. Another idee ?
I have s8+ duos.. I did never root my device and the knox is not tripped but it shows the same root message!
Magisk hide works fine to hide, you just have to be passing safetynet.

That depends entirely on your device configuration. Typically you need something like a stock rom with no modifications made to the system partition. That means all mod zips are installed via magisk and none via TWRP. Also you can't be running Xposed. Outside of that it's usually a factor of whether magisk hide is working at the moment or not
Eso suele pasar porque tienes instalado XPosed.
Another problem is that the game don't work if your devices have the BL unlocked

Fortnite to work?

Has anyone managed to get fortnite to work on a rooted OP6? I'm trying to have a game with my son but as soon as I jump off the bus I get kicked for having an untrusted device. Magisk passes safteynet also magisk hide is enabled.
Edit: I got it to work if anyone else is interested i
: repacked magisk in magisk manager settings
: downloaded installer and installed
: magisk hide installer
:ran the installer
:magisk hide fortnite
:ran fortnite.
Thanks @whizeguy I don't know how I missed those threads.

I'm using 17.2 magisk on oos 9.0 stable. Make sure your hiding the apps BEFORE opening them aswell. I had to redownload everything because I opened the apps before hiding.

I'm on 8 I wonder if that makes a difference. I think I may try to do a clean flash tonight and do all the steps again.

Google pay with rooted phone

Google pay still does not let me pay in stores, because I have root. I have Blu_spark with Magisk and enabled Magisk Hide on Gpay
What can I do?
Thank you!
Try to use Magisk Canary, It's working for me
Magisk Settings: "Update Channel" to "Custom" and paste
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/master/canary_builds/canary.json into the box, restart Magisk and install the update.

If problem not solved, please try this:

I suffered same problem with new google play version and my rooted S4 mini , in PIE, OREO and Nougat indeed, and it was fixed.
Magisk Core mode works, but using Magisk beta v19 with Magisk Hide works perfectly too !
