So i updated my phone but it drains alot of battery. Android OS is draining all the juice. Now i LOVE MM but due to 20 to 15 percent overnight drain i had to revert back to 5.1.1.
Have you guys come up with any fix for this. I tried all the updates and versions of MM. Seems like 6.0.2 is gonna fix that.
You have to turn off google backup and restart the s6 and that's it.
if google backup do not help, then turn off location too
is that a checked fix for this? coz i dont want to loose my data all over again while downgrading through odin

Whats the knox situation go to download mode and see what it says
Good day.
I have been seeing in some post that after March (APC8) update, because of some mess in android, S7 began to use much more battery.
Did anyone compare it in real life?
Is it worth to downgrade?
If yes, what other function will be lost after the downgrade? (couldn't find any firmware version changelog)
Thank you.
hi, there is a noticable difference in battery life and SoT, I could hit around 6H SoT with my 900F (exynos) with mid/high usage running APC8, it was a very good built.
running BPJ5 atm and hitting around 3H SoT, sometimes little more or less so... yeah i guess its worth downgrading if you dont mind some minor updates and Samsung Cloud, I upgraded mine a few weeks ago, because of Samsung Cloud support and theres Android 7.0 behind corner so I would update anyway. cheers
im still wondering how could Samsung ruin the battery life so bad and not fix it for more than a half year
Im running BPJE latest update. Im on 5hr sot with 18hrs standby

Thank you for your reply.
From what i have read, it is android source code issue, not Samsung.
Maybe with 7.0 Nougat upgrade and it's enhanced Doze, could be back to the old battery life.

we will see. what is really intriguing is that some users are just fine with post-APC8 updates, like falcon here, i dont get it, really...
I have debloated my S7, no GPS, no heavy gaming.. i just dont get it..
I haven't tried BPJE yet, and I might after seeing this thread. I've tried BPJ1 and BPH6 and battery life was horrible - about 3hr SOT. Switched to APC8 and battery life doubled.
Update: I've now updated to BPJE, and the battery life is really good. Almost as good as APC8. Performance is better on BPJE so it's a good compromise between battery life and performance.
Hello, excuse me but the battery drain in nougat is better than 6.1 or not ? because some user said that is better but other said that is horrible and i read on other page where said the same and i dont know if update my phone or wait other minor update lol
thanks !
Standby: better than M - about 1-2% over night.
Usage, same sh*t like on M.
Install nougat and see for yourself, because usage patterns are different for everyone. U can always go back to M.
On the other hand - nougat has bugs, they are not a big deal, but still...
I have Android 7.1.1 on my Xperia and recently there is a battery drain on my phone from Android OS and this is currently running at 32%. Does anyone have any ideas of what this is or causing this?
Thanks
Why, that's a feature of Android Nougat! Google is so nice that they make our phones remind us to charge before the night.
But seriously, a standby drain of Nougat has always been bad. On my Z5 Premium, it's always well above 1%/h. It's something in the kernel. The only fix I know of is downgrading to Marshmallow. But hey, if anyone knows more, do let us know!
Hello,
I am currently on stock Oreo with April 2018 update. Battery life is 3hr to 4hr screen on time (that would take it to around 10-20%). Has anyone decided to downgrade? If yes, did battery life improve?
Thanks
