I need a new charger + cable but which one is safe to use / good?
Should be the same as the Stock one from the N6P.
Cable atleast 6ft. / 1.8m and with European wall plug.
Thanks.

I'd just get another stock charger. They are more likely to be better for your phone as many 3rd party ones aren't great. However if you have to get another one that isn't stock then I'd recommend one from anker.

Thank you, 3rd party ones are generally universal so they aren't built to supply the exact amount that particular device needs which can cause damage to battery and can even lead to explosions because of the lithium battery but that's rare.
I bought those one. Works fantastic!

you know, the one that comes with the phone. every OEM cable/charger that ive seen on the net doesnt quite look the same as the one i have.
thanks.
You might want to try contacting Rogers or AT&T to see if they have one.
But Samsung's oem usb cables aren't necessarily the best. I've heard a lot of people say they needed to replace the cable for breaking easily or having connectivity issues.
I would say to try and find that one for sure. I don't know if they changed the internals of the other one (with the USB port on the side), but it definitely takes longer to charge my Skyrocket on it than the one you have pictured.
Amazon.com for like 3.50. I use a Samsung OEM charger but not the one that came with my skyrocket. I have several and they work on fine my skyrocket and GNote.

Both AT&T and Samsung will try to seel you a .7 amp charger and claim it is the OEM. The one that comes with the phone (my phone anyway) is a 1 amp charger. Here is a link to one I bought and it is exactly like the one that actually comes with the phone.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Original-Charger-Adapter-Transfer/dp/B005OSURT2/ref=pd_cp_e_0
I hope the link works, but if it doesn't just search Amazon for "1 amp Samsung wall charger" and some will show up.
I seem to get a faster charge using my Samsung Infuse charger than the little Skyrocket cube charger.

I want a charger with longer wire than the one which comes in retail box. I was going through this Nokia AC-20 charger. Can someone tell me if that will be advisable to use with N5? The output of that charger is 750mAh, so I guess it will take some more time to charge which is fine with me. Should I go for it? Is there anyone who uses the AC-20 charger?

Personally I would go with wireless charger. I have the Google charger at my work desk and a different one at home I use as my nighttime dock.
Problem is that these chargers are not much available in India, moreover the prices are too high.

I don't use car chargers as I don't think they are safe! A simple crank of your engine causes the voltage to go up a lot... Even though the branded ones are totally safe, I prefer not to use them..
However, here is one which I'm eagerly waiting for... http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-air-dock
Why don't you just buy a longer 6ft+ USB cable and attach it to the charger?
The plugin part of the charger is the important part. The port is a standard microUSB cable so you can use whatever cable you want.

I think you need a usb 3 cable.
Google product engineer +BensonLeung has tested several cables, and the vast majority of them fail to meet the Type C specification, some even dangerously drawing too much power.
Interesting to note that the hugely popular Orzly cables fail his tests.
can't even trust the word "certified by **** company" on the products anymore. that's why you just can't ignore product reviewers.
Haha, I was just coming to post this myself. Its good we have people looking out for this sort of thing. Stuff like this always pops up in the early phases of new tech or standard roll outs. Remember all the faulty knock off lightning cables for apple stuff when that first launched?
Potentially bad news for those of us with the One+ cables though;
+Rajesh Handa , +Guille Laca, +Jared Valles, +Steven Lefkoff, unfortunately I have bad news about the One+ cables. The One+ cables, despite ostensibly being from a 1st party phone maker, are out of spec. They use an incorrect 3A configuration as well.
I haven't reviewed them on Amazon because they aren't for sale there directly from One+

It sucks he has not recommended any chargers or USB-C to USB-C cables. The only cables he has reviewed are USB A to USB-C and it is my understanding that these will not quick charge the device anyhow.
I have started a Google Sheet to track USB Type C cables and accessories. I have also enhanced to include N5X and N6P products. Check it out!

Not to change gears but I topped my 6p off yesterday before first boot up and let it and my htc m8 both drain completely, them plugged 6p to packaged charger and my m8 to a nexus 6 fast charger and a 6-ft micro usb I bought fro at&t and the m8 charged... Much... Faster. Are Google's fast charging claims unfounded or is the N6 charger from Motorola just that fast?

Remember that the M8 has a 2,600 mAh battery and the 6P has a 3,450 mAh battery. The 6P battery is almost 35% larger than the M8, and will require more time to charge. How much charge did the 6P have when the M8 finished charging?

Ditto. I bought 3 and I might keep them for slow charging, like overnight. The price wasn't bad.
That's is a very fair point and good question. If I'm not mistaken between 65-75%. Nothing crazy, but one thing I will say, I play a game that drains the battery very badly, even after I close and even force close the app (love it so much I am willing to live with it) but I drained it all the way back down this morning playing the game and instead of turning it back on and starting the charge from 1% and leaving it on so I can track its progress (after a restart, the game normally doesn't cause any battery drain until I open it again), I left it off to charge, and I came back less than 40 minutes later and the thing was full.. I couldn't believe it so I turned it on and unplugged it and sure enough, 98%. It could be that the game was causing such drain (which is scary because the it never eats battery after a reboot) that it slowed the charging process, but I guess I'll never know for sure.

should we still have to worry about even if we use a basic charger (5v - 2a) to charge our 6P with those generic cables? seems like the google engineer only tested and raised concerned with rapid charging. this might get too far once wireless charging stickers/cases are introduced.

Based on the text in his reviews, it sounds like the risk of damage is to your charger, not your phone. The phone can (obviously) handle a 3A charging speed but a USB A charger most likely cannot.

Hey everyone! As you all know im always doing reviews on loads of products and have reviewed these cables with the OnePlus 2! Obviously they work perfectly for that as they were built for the OnePlus 2 originally. I did contact them though and they did let me know that as soon as it was brought to there attention they corrected the issue and i actually received the new version of the cable today and i will review it and have the video up tomorrow! For everyone using a OnePlus 2 its nothing to worry about though. The only items that it could affect are things that power at 3A so just keep that in mind before you go throwing out your cables!

I don't have first hand experience, but I see a few problems.
First, the USB C factory charger charges the phone to 70% in 15 minutes. It isn't like previous devices where you would throw it on the QI charger every spare moment because the battery took forever to charge. Second, the voltage output is not device specific and would take longer to charge the phone than using a standard USB C cable/charger.
I guess what I am saying is that yeah, any of the QI compliant stickers would work, but I ask, are they useful? I lived by QI on my Nexus 6, but seeing what type of battery life I get now, coupled with the ridiculously quick charge times, I no longer see the merit.
I don't mean to thread crap, but it took me a while to get over QI when weighing my options to upgrade. I honestly no longer miss wireless charging. I miss my dual facing stereo speaker and my almost 0 bezel from my Nexus 6, but not QI.
I hope this somewhat helps.
