[SOLVED] Install non-CAF ROM to Nexus 5 CAF? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I accidentally bought a Nexus 5 CAF. My last Nexus 5 was non-CAF and I installed Purity Kit Kat 4.4.4 ROM (with Hellscore kernel) which is the most perfect ROM I've used so far.
Could anyone help me to install non-CAF ROM to my Nexus 5 CAF? I want to come back to my beloved Purity. Thanks in advance.

There are 2 versions of nexus 5. D821 and D820. Only LTE bamds are different
Yoi can flash ANY rom made for hammerhead or hammerheadcaf on ANY Nexus 5
Just flash twrp caf for N5, wipe and flash your caf rom

I really don't know much. Could you please show me step by step.
I already flashed TWRP CAF (twrp-3.0.2-0-hammerheadcaf.img).
I want to install this ROM: purity_hammerhead_ota_2014-10-15.zip
But it shows error when I try to install the zip file:
""This package is for "hammerhead" devices; this is a "hammerheadcaf".
"Updater process ended with ERROR: 7""
My current device information:

[SOLVED] I figured it out. Error 7 is due to using TWRP for hammerheadcaf. I flashed TWRP for hammerhead and installed successfully.

the real question is why wouldn't you want to take advantage of CAF?

All ROMS I've tried so far contains annoying bugs somewhere and they are all slower than my old ROM.
These are the ROMS I've installed and removed:
aicp_hammerheadcaf_n-12.1-NIGHTLY-20170223
cm-14.1-20170303-NIGHTLY-hammerheadcaf
crDroidAndroid-7.1.1-20170206-hammerheadcaf-v2.1
MK71.1-hammerheadcaf-201703260944-NIGHTLY
Purity 4.4.4 + Hellscore kernel is the best combination ever. Super fast, smooth and no bug.
If you know any other CAF ROMs that fast, smooth and no bug please tell me. Thanks a lot.

[Q] instillation aborted, when installing Cm 10.1

So I have installed roms before, so im not necessarily new to it, but I am running into a problem when installing CM nightly.
I am using a Note 10.1 WIFI(N8013)
I rooted my Note with the guide on called
How to Root Galaxy Note 10.1! [CWM Method]
I then downloaded the most recent nightly build cm-10.1-20130717-NIGHTLY-n8013.zip
I put that zip and the Gapps directly on my sd card, and when trying to install it gets a little into it and then says "instillation aborted".
I made a backup of the stock rom before, and then did a reset and still the same error, then tried using the CM version bellow the newest one, same thing. Just wondering what im doing wrong?

If your note is a wifi model then it should be an n8010, which might be the problem because your trying to install n8013 firmware. This is Just a guess?
correct

The full rom is probably 300 megs or larger and take half our or longer. the updates might be 30 megs or so and download quick. Check the file size.

Android M CM13

CM start CM13 Branch
One S get Android M?
Maybe we can build it now from source?
It's too soon. I doubt there's even one device working on this branch. Just check http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-13.0 regularly.
No Lollipop rom is enought stable to be daily for now, so not sure Android 6.0 rom is usefull if not fully working too...
I know for a fact Evita has booted on M, Lots of broken stuff I bet, only a matter of time before CM starts fixing stuff up
Good news. I try to build for Ville almost every week. Wait & see, nothing really new on Gerrit for our device these days; but 8960 related sources are updated daily.
Maybe now?
Hi, does anyone have news for cm13 on our old htc one s ?
Thanks
No, not ready and almost no work for our device. There's a makefile circular dependency problem I can't figure out.
Hi all,
I found this file :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24407100847292564
So it seems that there is a CM13 build for our Ville... Has anyone tried this build ? I couldn't find any info on this build and I can't boot in recovery using buttons on my device so I need feedbacks before I attempt to flash this rom... Thanks!
Edit : I had a mail from the developer who told me it's a project but it doesn't boot yet...
My wife has a galaxy note 2. There's no official cm 13 for it like ours but there's already marshmallow ROMs out for it. How is that possible? Anyone have any insight or can point me in the right direction of getting a build for our ville?
Now we can download CM 13
Download
Only 2.16 HBOOT
Any bugs revealed?
Installed CM13 on hboot 2.16. It seems everything is ok. 3 Hours runtime... no errors or crashes.

I've been running it since this morning. Haven't had any crashes or reboots. Fm Radio doesn't work. Had to download new adb drivers for adb or fastboot to work.
Fm Radio works fine for me
FM working well. ( of course with headphones )
Things that make you go hmmm. Downloaded and flashed again and still get this. My headphones work on any other app or phone.
What radio are you guys using?
I use stock fm radio apk from cm13

Just Rooted! What now...

So I just rooted my OnePlus One and I want to get the FrancoKernel to save some battery but I don't think it's compatible with the version I am on. I am on CM 12.1.1-YOG7DAS2K1. What are my other options as far as kernels that improve battery life? Also other things I can do to save some battery since I am rooted? Thanks for the help!

You can just test the kernel if you want, but make sure you have make a backup of the kernel in CWM / TWRP. (Just in case you have problems).
NOTE: Most kernels are based to ROMS from the developer. Always read the thread if your ROM works with the kernel you want to install, or you will get bootloops :silly:
I use the AK kernel (AK.311.OP1.CM.zip) --> Link
Alot of users prefare AK kernel over Franco kernel, but you have to try it for yourself.

Do not attempt to install Franco Kernel. The last version he made is compatible with COS12. Right now there's only one kernel made specifically for COS12.1.1 and its Boeffla (4.2 Beta 2). You can try AK cause it's using a special format that makes it compatible with almost any 5.1.1 based CM ROM (311)

I see that ur using twrp 2.8.7.0. Update twrp to the latest build (3.0.0) and try again. Nightlies seem to have issues with 2.8.7.0. Worked fine in 2.8.6.0 and it works fine in the latest twrp builds.

Dude you have to factory reset when flashing a ROM for the first time. You can't dirty flash CM13 on Cyanogen OS, only on previous CM13 builds.
I suggest before you enter the world of flashing ROMs, read up a LOT. You should have an idea of what you are doing, unless you wanna treat your $300+ phone as a plaything...

I have it on mine. DON'T use lucky patcher on it lol it can revert your phone back to stock 14.1 if you aren't careful. other then that, its flawless
I have Simple Launcher 3 with a custom theme and icon pack for the best battery life. I call it the AMOLED Theme. Its so much better than 6.0.1. Also used Pico Open Gapps. Future Plans to make the entire system a dark/black theme

So, I realize this ROM is fairly new. But, is this ROM pretty stable then? Sounds like it is?
I have a SM-G900V rooted and unlocked bootloader, running BP1 baseband....can I flash CM14? If so, is everything functioning properly?
According to kapptin boxxi 2 posts above it is great
It should work fine to flash it using twrp remember to flash android 7.1 gapps at same time as the cm 14.1 rom

I was able to install the rom no problem but now I have no 3g/4g and calls/sms isn't working. Anybody else having that issue?

Edit: Nevermind, I just realized I downloaded the klte instead of the kltevzw version :-/
Safe to flash this coming from Ok3? (unlocked bootloader w/ twrp installed)
