So about two weeks ago, while I was traveling (of course, I didn't bring my laptop, because I thought this would be a great time to test the usability of my tablet instead of my laptop while traveling) the wifi became stuck 'turning on'. The WiFi has been stuck 'turning on' for about two weeks now. Bluetooth will not turn on either.
This device was completely stock..all OTA updates, never rooted/unlocked/whatever.
I downgraded from 10.4.4.20 to 9.4.5.30 just about 15 minutes ago since I got around to it. Wifi is still 'turning on'. My goal to do this was to downgrade it to ICS, then flash a custom rom to it to see if that would repair it, or flash the kernel, or something. However, I can't use the ASUS unlock tool unless I have a network connection. WiFi/Bluetooth won't turn on, not an option. Also, I am going to Malaysia next week, and then moving to Korea, so I won't really be able to mail this thing in. Anyways, I was quite dissapointed with my performance on the stock ROM's, so I want to do this anyways.
Is there a way to tether to my laptops (win 7) internet connection using USB tethering? I have not been able to get it to work.
Thanks
Did you try shutting all the way down\restart and trying the factory reset option under settings?
Maybe the "pinhole" reset would fix the problem you are having.

Ever since I upgraded my phone to Lollipop, I started having problems with the Wi-Fi. The problem starts every time I reboot the phone or enter airplane mode, the Wi-Fi takes about 5 to 10 minutes to establish itself. If I try to enter it tells me it isn't responding. And when finally "giving up" to multiple requests the Settings Apps fails and then I can finally connect to any network. This problem started on Lollipop 5.0... then I had to flash 5.0.1 with hopes that It'll be addressed but it hasn't, and since I don't see thread about it, hope you guys can shed a light. There's another issue that it doesn't remember any new Wi-Fi entered, but I can live with that... but it's aggravating to wait so much time until I can connect to any Wi-Fi after a reboot.
Hello there, I have a weird issue with my android phone, suddenly when I try to connect to a specific network using Wifi my phone gets blocked (Black screen) and is totally unresponsive, the only way to get back the phone to work is doing a full factory reset, This happens since yesterday afternoon when I get back to the office and tried to get connected to my office network, everything was working fine with my phone, no new apps installed recently, am on KitKat 4.4.2 and as I told you everything was fine till yesterday. I try to connect to my home wifi network and to other places, even public networks, and it works fine without problem, it seems is just with my office network but the IT group told me no changes was made in the network configuration since past 2 week.
Any sugestion, troubleshooting tips???
Thanks a lot
Hi there,
Please give us more details about your device.
Thanks
Hi all,
Just got a new Flex 2 F510L (Korean version). It came with Android 5.0.1 (I think, could have been 5.1.1) and phone setup fine (using cellular!).
Updated it to marshmallow and all went well. BUT when I try to connect to wifi, it shows me the SSIDs and I put in the key etc. I have to switch off back on the wifi to get it to connect, then it starts to cycle the wifi on and off - If I am in settings the "wifi on/off" switch actually goes off and back on every 15-30 seconds.
I do get a "small" amount of data through when it is on but it then switches off again.
I have tried other firmwares (H959 one both Lollipop and marshmallow) and same issue on all.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
W.
Hi, since the nougat update I got last week, my phone is having problems connecting to Wifi.
It will connect fine, then if I leave the wifi connection I have and go out, when I return it won't connect. It can see the router, but refuses to connect at all. I then have to re-boot and it connects fine (a real pain when wifi calling is essential due to poor signal and I'm hopeless at remembering to reboot when I enter a new wifi zone).
This is happening at both home and work, so I don't think it's caused by the routers. Before the update the wifi connection in both places was absolutly solid. Really frustrated, has anyone got any ideas?
I'm currently "repairing" the software yet again to see if that helps, it's a bog standard non-rooted E6653 on EE
Try doing factory reset.
Yes try a factory reset.
I'm on stock Nougat and no such wifi issues.
However I did experience wifi connection (disconnection) issues on Marshmallow.
Don't restart your phone. Don't do a factory reset.
This is what you should do: Turn on Flight mode, then turn it off again. Wait for a few secs, done!
This saves you for some of the daily pain, while you are awaiting Sony's permanent fix. Unfortunatelly, Sony is persistently refusing to tell you how and when, would you believe it ...
I have exactly the same problem with my Z5, after the latest upgrade. Will try the airplane mode trick and hope that Sony will provide a patch.
I have the same problem. Turn on and off flight mode works.
