Everytime I want to send a message it takes forever to type the message and sending one also takes some time. Sometimes I even receive the same message 3 or 4 times which is very annoying. I'm on EMUI5.

This must be some thing specific with your phone.
Have you tried a different messaging messaging app ?
Have you got "Cancel Sent" enabled in the text settings?
If so this will delay the sending of your text messages by around 5 seconds or so, this allows to delete a text before it's sent..
As for the typing try a different keyboard..

it's a known issue of htc messaging client due to large number of stored sms. the only way to fix this is by deleting stored sms or upgrading to a custom rom with updated messaging client...or without this this last one

to speed up the opening...while it loads text message, click "send", it will show up warning, send blank message?, press no, than all messages will be loaded instantly

It´s a known issue if someone has many text messages.
Try to install the new messaging client and your issue will be gone. you can find it here:

No matter what ROM I flash when I send a long text that converts to MMS it turns into random garbled characters. It appears to send fine on my end but whoever I send it to gets an unreadable text. This happens with every ROM and with any messaging app I try. I'll attach a screenshot of what it looks like. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Also...
I have tried multiple messaging apps such as Handcent and I get the same results. I'm aware that I can split the messages into multiple SMS as a workaround but I really just want it to convert long messages to MMS like it supposed to and not send them as garbage. Thanks.
Ummmm.....I could be wrong, but I don't believe that has ever worked??? Have had my ns4g for over a year and it has always had to split SMS......or at least I have always set it to split......

Ok, that's kinda what I figured. Thanks for the quick reply.
Is anyone else having problems with HTC's stock texting app sending messages slowly? For example, when I type out a message and send it, the message remains in the text box for about 3 seconds before actually sending which can be annoying.
Also, I've notice that new messages take a while to load when you open the message app. I'm thinking about using a 3rd party texting app. It's becoming annoying.

I actually just noticed this yesterday. I thought I was the only one.

This has started to occur for me quite recently as well. No way can all three of our accounts be connected in some way...
I have posted here but recieved no answer. I figured my question belongs here anyway, so I won't bump the other thread.
I am trying to use Hangouts as my default SMS app (It is also currently the only SMS app installed on my device) because I do like it. However I noticed that sometimes I don't get any notification when I recieve a text message, no vibration, nor sound nor notification in the status bar. As a result, I miss quite a lot of texts. Notice that I do recieve those texts, if I check the app they are there, text bold to indicate they are not yet read. I just don't get the notification. Also, most of the time I do get the notifications without a problem. So to be clear, this is about some SMS's, not about all.
As far as I know this happens when I recieve the message very shortly after I put down my phone (my routine: send text, press 'backbutton' once to get in the hangouts overview, and then I press power to shut of the screen and put the phone down.) If I get a message let's say within half a minute of me turning of the screen I won't have a clue I recieved the message until I go look in hangouts to check. This happens often when someone is quick to respond to my own message, but could maybe be happening with other messages I recieve in that time. I don't think this happens to messages I recieve when the screen has been off for a time, but I can't say that with certainty.
I have a HTC One S currently running CM11, but I had this problem on stock ROM too. However never with the HTC stock messaging app.
I have found similar problems here on the forums, but no satifying answers. I hope someone has a solution?

I've just bought a Nexus 5 and when I type text messages with hangouts I can only see the last 4 lines of the message.
I'm in the habit of sending long texts - 5-6 texts long - with my previous phone, HTC One S, using their stock messaging app the message would scroll up the screen so I could see it all until it went off the top of the screen
How can I replicate that with Hangouts on my Nexus, or at least resize the reply window so that I can see more than 4 lines?
Cheers
There's one way I know that can solve your problem.
You need to have your phone rooted and Xposed installed.
Then there's a mod called "SMS Xposed" that gives you the option "unlimited textbox".
Which means "Removes the 3-lines height limit for the SMS typing box".
Hope this helps
Thanks. For the moments I'm not rooted so I've installed GO SMS Pro which offers what they call 'big edit'
When I use SMS Xposed I stop getting notified of messages. Hangouts and SMS.
