it's a known issue of htc messaging client due to large number of stored sms. the only way to fix this is by deleting stored sms or upgrading to a custom rom with updated messaging client...or without this this last one

to speed up the opening...while it loads text message, click "send", it will show up warning, send blank message?, press no, than all messages will be loaded instantly

It´s a known issue if someone has many text messages.
Try to install the new messaging client and your issue will be gone. you can find it here:

I have just recently updated to WM6 "the real thing" and now every time i send an SMS (i no longer have the option to send just a text, i dont know if they are the same thing) i get the regular message sent message, and then a couple seconds later i get a message from system administrator saying the same thing, but in more detail like to the phone number i sent it to. is there anyway to turn this off.

Yeah thanks no problem man
Currently i recieve lots of texts, i've noticed that I can not reply straight away when my text messages are set to show like a conversation because my htc hd 2 has to load all the texts. I was wondering if someone could make a tweak where it only showed the last 5 or 10 messages so i can reply instantly
Yes. 2nd that. That is the only problem with HD2 now for me
would appreciate this too
I've had a quick look at the registry, but couldnt find anything useful.
I dunno if its set in a manila-file or in the messagingapplication itself.
Would be nice to tweak this...
+1 to this feature,
with my HTC P3600 I had sms routing and it only showed the 10 last messages,
if you wanna see older messages you could press, 'see history',
+1 . will be great that tweak
Awesome, glad to see some people agree! I have no idea how to do it so...

One way to overcome the delay until a fix comes out, is as soon as you open the conversation, click 'send' and a warning window pops up asking if you want to send a blank text, select 'no' and there you have the whole conversation loaded instantly. Plus I noticed last night when I disabled the sense ui and installed Spbmobile shell 3.5.2, the Htc messaging app will still take a while to load the conversation but at least you can type out your reply while its doing it.

Oh i see, thanks! I will try the blank text thing for now
I tend to read my sms from manila then click the "new sms" icon and basically write a new sms rather than clicking reply. Until a fix is found I have found this the quicker way to reply to sms.
Just as soon as you open the conversation, click 'tap here to compose' and you'll be able to compose. But be quick
Why should we work on things that HTC is supposed to FIX [email protected]!$

OR... you can click on "Send" and then cancel and its all done. Works like a charm.
Ok, so everynow and then, My text message fails. So I have to hold it until the menu pops up and i click resend.
Can Someone build a simply little auto resend in the event the text fails to send?
That would be greatly appreciated.
Its called AT&T...
and this needs to be in the general section...

not the point. When you try to send a message, you want it to actually be sent. I dont want to do it manually(im lazy). i want it to be done automatically. and how do i move this to general?

When your message fails, what is the reason? I get failures for not using a 10 digit number just for one of my contacts. The contact is stored using a 10 digit number though. I can't seem to get it fixed and it is actually a very big problem for me since the contact is my wife!
No matter what ROM I flash when I send a long text that converts to MMS it turns into random garbled characters. It appears to send fine on my end but whoever I send it to gets an unreadable text. This happens with every ROM and with any messaging app I try. I'll attach a screenshot of what it looks like. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Also...
I have tried multiple messaging apps such as Handcent and I get the same results. I'm aware that I can split the messages into multiple SMS as a workaround but I really just want it to convert long messages to MMS like it supposed to and not send them as garbage. Thanks.
Ummmm.....I could be wrong, but I don't believe that has ever worked??? Have had my ns4g for over a year and it has always had to split SMS......or at least I have always set it to split......
10....0011....10101
Ok, that's kinda what I figured. Thanks for the quick reply.
Everytime I want to send a message it takes forever to type the message and sending one also takes some time. Sometimes I even receive the same message 3 or 4 times which is very annoying. I'm on EMUI5.

This must be some thing specific with your phone.
Have you tried a different messaging messaging app ?
Have you got "Cancel Sent" enabled in the text settings?
If so this will delay the sending of your text messages by around 5 seconds or so, this allows to delete a text before it's sent..
As for the typing try a different keyboard..
