I just received a factory refurbished LG Stylo 2 L82VL from Straight Talk as a replacement for one I bought a month ago that suffered the infamous "invalid SIM" failure.
Immediately after activating the replacement phone I notice that the touch screen becomes unresponsive anytime the screen is locked or times out.
The hard keys still work but to bypass this I have to remove the battery, restart the phone and enter the unlock code before the screen times out.
After that it operates flawlessly but if the screen is locked or times out I have to repeat the process.
It's quite bothersome and I have a 2nd replacement scheduled but I'm curious as to what could be causing this issue and how it might be resolved.
I've hard reset twice but to no avail.
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I found no mention of this on xda, so I figured I would post. I awoke this morning (late I might add) to a Fuze with the LCD on but a lightly backlit black screen. The phone was unresponsive to all buttons. I gave a soft reset, and the phone rebooted as normal. Now my phone has a myriad of vertical lines spanning the screen. There are about 40 of them about 1 mm wide each. Since this time I have removed battery for about 30 mins, soft reset several times, hard reset twice, and even flashed the original ATT ROM back to the phone (Originally running RRE's latest but I don't fell that was relevant). I think my screen has taken a dive and I am getting ready to call to do an exchange, but would be open to suggestions that would save me a bit of time in the return process. I believe that this is simply a hardware defect however.
Input welcomed.
Hi there
I also had issues with the screen on my touch pro, what is the first few digits of your device?
mine is:
HTC Touch Pro,
HT832K00
issue: screen ghosting and 1 dead pixel
Mine are HT843K91. Did you have the striping effect? How has the replacement treated you?
So I just left sprint for Verizon and got the M8. It was the last one in the area too, but the rep drove 20 miles to pick up the second one for my fiance. 5 times since I got it this afternoon the screen failed to power on when I used the power button or double screen tap. I had to do the pwr/vol button reboot to get my display working. One time was after a phone call. Has anyone else had this problem? I got the phone charging now, I don't know if a reset the phone it will fix it or if this is a hardware issue. If it's hardware I can't exchange it until they get more in. Any input if it's worth it trying a factory reset?
Try a factory reset. Don't think it will fix it but why not try it. When you double tap the screen, does it vibrate even though the screen doesn't come on?

Well I did a factory reset from the fastboot screen and it did it again after getting off a phone call. Guess I'll be getting it swapped out. I have horrible luck with these things.
So just to preface all this, the phone is probably toast, I got it the day it came out and I've done all the common sense things to get it up and running. I replaced the battery with a fully charged one (complements of LG) and tried to turn it back on. It gets to the LG screen, and sometimes the ATT symbol shows up, but no longer to the home sreen. After I've seen the LG screen, I can no longer do anything. I can however remove and reinsert the battery and begin the cycle anew. So has this happened for anyone else?
After a few minutes of brainlessly attempting to resurrect the device, it now consistently gets to the ATT screen. The problem is that the ATT animation only goes for a few frames and then stops. The blue led flashes slowly, and then nothing (or perhaps another LG screen).
Are you even able to get to the factory reset screen? because I'm having the exact same issue and I can't even get there.
I bought the phone in June and it's been working great until today. I was just using the phone as normal for hangouts when it froze on me. Obviously, I removed the battery and now it's stuck in the same loop that you have described where I have to remove the battery just to get to the LG logo screen upon booting.
Should I contact AT&T support or LG support for this?

Seems the only fix is RMA

Same thing happened to me:

I'm pretty sure you have one of the 1.0 devices. This is a common problem among the first batch of G4s made before October 2015. You can check the hardware revision number by removing the battery. If it says H/R 1.0, your phone is useless now, something to do with the motherboard. Contact LG and demand a replacement, they know about the problem. It has happened to a lot of users.
I had this exact thing happen to me about a month ago. Also a day 1 phone. Took it into ATT to see what's up. They couldn't do anything since I don't have insurance. But they did suggest doing an RMA on the LG site for repair since the phone has a 1 year manufacturer warranty for parts. So I did that and LG fixed the phone and sent it back. Turn around time was like 2 weeks. RMA process was done online. https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair. Best of luck
Today I was in the middle of typing up a Google+ post when my phone started vibrating and wouldn't stop. Realized it was completely frozen so I pulled the battery. At first t wouldn't boot then it booted up fine and I was like "thank god". Went to plug it in and I'm back at the boot screen. Tried my other fully charged battery and Best I could get was to the death star and that's when graphics got distorted then it rebooted and now its hard bricked won't even turn on. Got mine a day before at&ts launch on June 4, really thought by now the motherboard issue was all hype. So why would you have to go through LG and not just get a refurb swap through at&t? As long as there's no visible physical damage shouldn't be an issue I would think

so yeah AT&T is sending me a replacement, no drama. Not sure what insurance has to do with anything
Hi guys,
So last night I went into the bootloader menu to read by current phone software stats. I noticed that it didn't seem easy to get back to the reboot. The function buttons that normally would work didn't seem to be in this case. Pressing the power button to advance the command was null. Finally, the phone seemed to reboot and I thought "problem over." From that point on, the phone basically died on me. There are intermittent flashes of a horizontal line across the black screen that displays itself at different parts of the screen. NO power button/volume button combo works at ALL. I cant tell if the phone is even on or not. Went through it with Google and they confirmed seems to be dead. VZW was super cool and fast in getting me a replacement sent. FYI: Stores will not do any warranty exchange. It has to be shipped to you. In any case, I wondered if anybody here had an idea on what the issue is or how I can possibly get my phone back. If only I could factory data rest.
Anyways, I'm locked Verizon stock and this still happened! So odd. Worst is, they are sending me a refurbished model. Already!!! The phone is less than a month old.
Thanks!
I Have done a screen replacement in an LG Stylo 4 on Cricket service.
After completing the screen replacement the screen appeared to be working perfectly but when the phone screen timed out and the phone locked when I pressed the power button to unlock it the screen would then flash on and off again. If I reset the phone it will work fine until i turn off the screen the the issue will repeat itself.
I have checked the proxy to make sure it wasn't Pocket mode causing the issue and everything appears to be correct. I have also properly put all tape and made sure nothing was shorted. I have tried testing the screen with only the bare essentials as well (Board, screen, battery. And the issue still persists.
My gut still says pocket mode because the proxy is soldered onto the board but has anyone else run into this issue or a similar one?
Same
