You are able to change cid if your device is s-off

About S=Off & superCID 11111111

this thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257776) says:
You will need to have S=Off and superCID set to 11111111 using XTC Clip.
I was going to a mobile shop and i was bought "S-OFF", i have installed CWM and root, and new rom with RU.
but i don't know what is my CID (if i have s-off, i have super cid 11111111?)
can i install radio?
thanks!
You can use CIDGetter from market to check your CID number.
thanks! i have cid 1111111
Then you're ready for anything. You can flash 1.33 then update to 1.52 then install CWM then root.
Isnt supercid what goldcard gives temorarily? (It allowed me to flash 1.33 on o2 phone. Using ruu version.
can i somehow make use of my goldcard to flash to 1.52 ota? As it doesnt update on s-on which seems toi be cid related (on or off).
Any way to get it without s-off?

[Q] Can I get OTA updates after SUPER CID?

I am still on the stock ROM, but I am rooted with ClockworkMod recovery. Recently I followed the instructions in this thread to write SUPER CID to my phone.
In order to get OTA updates, I know I'll need to get back to the stock recovery, but do I need to do anything about my CID?
Yes you have to change you CID. SuperCID will not receive OTA updates

Thank you! Now for the obligatory n00b follow-up: Where can find what value to change it back to?
Doing some more reading and realizing that I need to flash a stock ROM from here to get back to my old CID.
However, my wife has exactly the same phone as I do without SUPER CID. If I can get her CID using ADB Tools, can I just write that value to my phone?
Or would restoring a nandroid backup from before writing SUPER CID return me to my original CID?
It depends on wich RUU you flashed, in wich region you are. For example: for Europe you can use HTC__001. I used HTC__E11, the dutch cid

I dont think doing a back up or flashing a rom will change the cid, you have to do this through adb

Is there a list of these somewhere, or would you happen to know the CID for TMOUS?
Alright, I found a list of CIDs in this thread.
Also, a few comments in I read that when you write SUPER CID, a backup of your old CID actually gets stored in your phone. You can access it by installing Terminal Emulator (from the market) and running the command: getprop ro.cid
For me, this confirmed that my CID was T-MOB010, which I have now written with ADB and am on my merry way.
RUU or a backup restore will not restore your CID as it's a separate setting. As you've found the thread I was going to suggest then you can find it there
This is why people should get ALL the information from their phone (original CID, RUU, etc) before flashing anything so they have it all to hand should they need it

[Q] T-Mobile Uk RUUs

I've been going through some Rom/Flashing issues with my HTC One S and having the RUU for my device to start all over again flashing back to stock recovery, relocking the phone and using the RUU to get myself back to stock.
To give you a run down. I just got my phone and I've spent the last month figuring this whole thing out due to this amazing online community on here.
I use TWRP 2.2 as my recovery, unfortunately I dived in, and failed to back up my original non-rooted stock Rom but that's still ok.
[I know nooby but bearing in mind this has all taken place within like, two weeks.] I used to switch effortlessly between MIUI v4 and the stock rooted HTC Sense 4.0.4 android just by backing up and restoring the roms but then I flashed to Paranoid Android and I think I fiddled with something during that flashing process which is why I'm probably getting some arbitrary technical issues now and I'd like to start over!
So anyways, any of you fine gentlemen and possibly ladies out there who could point me in the direction of a Uk HTC One S T-mobile RUU?
Thanks
Unfortunately none. I need one, too.

What do you need yours for exactly? Maybe I can help you out
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I have a tampered bootloader, and the flag needs to be reset. That's why I need one. And I have a T-Mobile CID.
I know there are ways to tamper and/or change the CID but I don't particularly want to do that myself.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I can't change CID, because I don't have an unlocked bootloader.

You can use hassoon's HTC one s all in one kit to unlock the bootloader can't you?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Do a full wipe, flash something like ARHD, change the CID, flash HTC Europe RUUs.
Yes, but I don't want to root... I need to restore from an RUU because that will remove my tampered flag.

I had a similar issue with my orange uk branded one s but after installing twrp i was able to change my cid from orange to a generic htc cid. I then re installed stock recovery, relocked the bootloader and then was able to install the european ruu. This worked fine and bootloader no longer says tampered although it does say relocked. I believe this is the best you can get if the bootloader has been unlocked at some stage.

Waste of time as long as the rom is working you only need to S-Off and then flash the RUU. I know it been updated but at the time I had to use a RUU to get my phone working again and went to S-Off and couldn't in till I flashed Viper2.

hmmm....i didnt know that the htc one s got s-off (been busy with work lately).....i tried debranding before , using a method that doesnt involve s-off, i was able to change the CID but i could never install the RUU cause of the different MID.....is the different MID not a problem anymore ? also will you be able to get OTA updates after you debrand and flash stock Jelly Bean ROM
tried installing the JB RUU over my stock 2.31 ICS, but i get an unknown error ..im s-off already and changed cid to HTC__001, and i get the system notification for the JB OTA..is it safe to just install the OTA? coz i've read in another thread that some devices got bricked by installing the OTA (although they are using supercid when they upgraded..

After s-off the CID changing is easy and S-off disables signature checking so you can extract the rom.zip(ruu) and edit the android-info and change the mid in that text file save it and then add it to some.zip and flash it as RUU , it will work ! But remember you will need s-off, and you will get OTAs , Donot relock the bootloader ! the bootloader should be saying S-off and unlocked .

Extract the .exe file on my pc? I don't see android-info in the files inside it, what should I be looking for and what should I edit it with?
Or do you mean install it onto the phone and then change something?

When you run the .exe file in the temporary folder you will see a file Rom.zip that's it copy and paste that to some location and inside that there is the android-info

How to go back to Stock ROM? TMOUSA

I can't seem to be able to get the Viper One S ROM running on my phone, but I could when I came from stock.
My One S is 4.2.2 root box
TWRP 2.4.4
HBOOT 1.14
S-OFF SuperCID 11111111
And I know what RUU to use
But I was wondering if I had to do anything besides lock the bootloader.
Do I just run the RUU?
No writing secure flags, changing CID or having to S-On?
Because I don't want to mess up and brick my device.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
You didn't search good enough.
In every get back to stock topic the minimal requirement are asked and given several times.
