If you pre order the LG G6 you shouldn't need root. Otherwise theirs the v20 or the G5

[Q] Easy way to unlock bands

I have moved to the UK and I have the verizon HTC M8, as you can imagine I don't the best cell coverage or speed.
I found the instructions to unlock all bands, however I can't get it to work and I don't want to play around too much and screw things up. Is there an easy way to get the bands unlocked? Or maybe a custom ROM based on a UK variant?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Why is this posted in an LG G4 forum?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
http://www.xda-developers.com/remove-band-restrictions-qualcomm/
OP you will get more help posting in HTC One M8 forums

if is Sprint variant which is the same as Boost variant the Bootloader is Lock and you won't be able to install custom recovery (TWRP) and just get root, but without TWRP you won't be able to flash any roms.
i recommend you to keep track on this Thread LG G STYLO (LS770) Thread
Wel i have the oem enable option in my dev options so if i can switch the hardware so the phone runs off gsm instead of cdma i should be able to unlock run on tmobile and install twrp...right??

I'm surprised that no one has called you out or closed this yet! You're in the Android Wear WATCH section. You need to find the section for your PHONE and search there. If you still can't find your answer, then post there.

there is no real section for our device on XDA there is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lg-g-stylo but it's not exactly the same as the one for the Galaxy S3 for example the Stylo forum is a collection of threads in different sections that have mentioned the phone itself hence why this thread is on that forum....

He would still have better luck getting an answer in the general Android development PHONE section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development than in this WATCH section.
well if a moderator would like to move this thread to the appropriate section that would be appreciated

Buy New LG G3 (ATT) - Yes or No? Lolllipop bugs?

Howdy folks,
I was going to buy a new ATT LG G3 (D850) to replace an aging Galaxy S3. At $250 it seems a good deal.
Then I read the bad news about how lollipop 5.0 push screwed things up? Should I stay away from this due to Lollipop 5.0 issues?
[I generally don't put custom roms due to lack of time, but if there is one that's bug free/stable I can consider that]
Thanks
I would recommend go for newer phone than older model. Try LG G4 or Samsung phone as your new phone.
As far as lollipop issues in LG G3, I didn't find any issue in my phone, I was very much happy.
Hope this helps.
I just got a new g3 from someone off CL. Definitely worth it. Took me 5 mins to root and put resurrection mm on here. Phone flies and no major bugs that hinder me from loving this phone
While I would recommend a new model (for LG the G4 or V10), the G3 is not a bad model for $250, especially if new. In regards to Lollipop, there are some minor bugs, but no more than I have seen on any other model in my opinion. I have not really noticed any bugs
It depends on what you want to do with your phone. What I mean by that is so you want custom roms? Or at least want to root and install a custom recovery?
Idk about ATT but I'm on Verizon and a lot of there phones have locked bootloader or no way to loki hack and install a custom recovery so that's one reason I still have my g3 after a little over a year and have not bought a g4 [emoji14]
So I say if that's what you want do some research and see what ATT phones can do that.
Also would be using a contract update or just buying it straight out, if it's a contract try to get something newer if you using a contract not the g3 is a great choice I'm running cm 13 and love my g3

What method did you use for rooting still looking. Would like a custom rom on my phone.

Well I have had my verizon G3 since August of 2014 so it's been rooted ever since I got it . But from what I have seen on forms. You should be able to downgrade the software from the latest to older ones then root and install twrp. Unless the latest update blocks that

Looking for a Verizon phone to buy

I'm looking for a new phone for under $200. Refurbished. I was looking at Droid turbo, but I can't find one that hasn't already been updated and I want to unlock bootloader and root. Can anyone recommend a phone that I should look at that can be rooted?

I just bought a used XT1254 /Turbo on eBay that was still on KitKat, flashed to version of Lollipop that works with Sunshine, and now running CM13
doesn't help you, but it's still possible
all firmware versions for moto X (2014) can be unlocked with sunshine app
I almost bought one of those instead

I have the 2013 moto x rite now. need a bit of an upgrade

Looking for the right phone

I hope this is in the correct forum for my question. I want to get a new phone and I prefer to root it, I understand Samsung has made it next to impossible to root so I was curious is there a phone that is easier to root? i heard that the Google phone (i.e. Pixel) are easy to root? Any truth to this or other recommendations for rootable phones

if you want to root the pixel, get it directly from Google play, or Fi

If you want a ROM with good developer community I recommended buying Nexus or OnePlus devices.
