It's an exposed framework module. "DoubleTaptoSleep"
Took me awhile to find this setting, for some reason I thought I disabled it in another menu! Glad I found this!

[Q] is there a way to decrease capacitive buttons delay?

I was wondering if anyone is aware of a way to decrease capacitive buttons delay on the opo? Having to wait so long to bring up recent app list or go to Google Now is simply not acceptable for me after coming from N5 where it was instant. I know I can use on screen buttons but I would like to stick using the capacitive ones but with decreased delay. I am running ART so xposed is not an option. I would also like to stay with stock luncher if possible. Please let me know guys, any help will be much appreciated! (BTW, I searched the forums and Google and found nothing, if it is somewhere out there I apologise in advance!)
What shortcut do you use to bring those things up? Long press? Have your tried double tap instead? I use double tap home for recent apps and it's delay isn't as much as long press home for recent apps

Hey - thanks very much for the tip. Haven't come across this before, but it looks like just the thing as we await xposed and or cm. Unfortunately, can't get it to work - it requires turning on universal switch, and doing so crashes my settings due no doubt to a conflict with something I've frozen... Will try to figure it out, but thanks again...

All In One Gestures doesn't have an option for the menu key, I'm guessing it's root only.
Does anyone else have a suggestion?

Correct. I'm talking about adding an option to either long press or short press the recent apps button to a menu button.

but it does.....under hard keys...might need to press the plus icon to add the recent key and then change it to menu
and i'm pretty sure that feature doesn't require root. (i could be wrong though)
just need to turn on the accessibility service.

Can anyone tell me if the All in One Gestures app works on the S6 Edge? I have a S6 Edge rooted. I installed All in One Gestures app. I setup up the app to change my recent apps button to Menu and I made the long back press into Kill app. BUT when I exit the app none of my remap changes work? All my buttons work like the normal stock setup. I have accessibility enabled and all that. I'm wondering if this app does not work on the new Lollipop version on my Edge? Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me? I'm trying to remap my buttons. Thanks.
Thank so much for this thread, I didn't even know any of this was possible. I've just come from 5 prior phones with a menu button, and I hate the Recent Apps button there. I ended up making that button do nothing (I already have the backlighting disabled), set long press on the Back button to be Recent Apps, and long press on home to Voice Search. It still doesn't give me the Menu button that I want so badly, but this will be much less frustrating. I just wish I could assign screencap to one of them. (It takes me about 8 tries to successfully get a screen cap w/ power/home.)
Anyway, thanks again!
Re-map buttons
Bueller......................Bueller.............
Personally I use Xposed Additions to re-map buttons, but you need to be rooted and have Xposed Framework (idk if it's Lollipop compatible yet, I'm on KitKat).
Xposed additions is fabulous, so if you can try and get that. You could also try Pie Controls from the play store (no root needed) and it'll let you access on screen versions of any buttons you want.
Hope that helps

Change Recent Apps Button to Menu Button
Finally figured out how to remap the Recent Apps button back to Menu....
Use a root explorer (I used X-plore with root enabled).
Go to
/system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
Backup file Generic.kl ( copy it as a .bk or something )
Then open the file Generic.kl using the text editor within X-plore.
Then find the word APP_SWITCH linking with the code number (mine is key 254), change APP_SWITCH to MENU. Then reboot and your are done. The Recent Apps button is now back to being a Menu button. Life is great.

I have S6 edge rooted... Tryed everything and could make All in One Gestures app works, but never assigning the menu button. I think the option of having menu is not enabled in S6 rom.
Remap the Edge
That app didn't work on my edge either. But fear not my fellow Android addict! Just edit your Generic.kl file! Change the quick app to MENU. See screen shot for file location. You want to edit key 254. Change that to MENU.
BEFORE DOING THIS COPY THE ORIGINAL Generic.kl file AND NAME IT SOMETHING ELSE like Generic.org. That way you still have the original file in case......

Double tap to wake

Good day was wondering if there is any double tap to wake utility for this device because can't find anything on the forums or the Internet, thanks a lot regards
Your hardware doesn't support real tap to wake. But you can try something like this, if you don't care about battery drain: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.knockz

Try to press the HOME button , my Note Pro sleeps and not using for a week, I wake it up either the POWER or HOME button.
Did you already try some "shake to wake" app?
It's the best solution to save buttons with a low battery consumption.

[APP] Power Button Flashlight (No Root)

Hello, i was recently experimenting with this Project: https://github.com/epeterson320/flashlight
In android studio. Its a flashlight app with no ui you just tap the icon and the flashlight activates, however i added an intent filter to the android manifest allowing the app to be launched with the "Jump to camera" gesture, this allows you to toggle the flashlight on and off with a double tap of the power button even when the screen is locked.
Instructions
Download and install
Lock phone and double tap power button
Enter your PIN or fingerprint
Select flashlight as default app
This will only work on phones that have the "Jump to camera" gesture. For example Nexus and Pixel phones, OnePlus phones and probably more. It will also replace the camera shortcut obviously. Clear defaults to select camera again.
so yeah hope someone finds this useful
Credit to @epeterson320 for creating the original app.
Download below in attached files
Thank you!!! This is amazing.
Christ this is like the one feature that's a deal breaker for me, Xposed torch is great but not seeing Xposed for android 9 yet; and this works well enough. Great thinking and thank you!
Problem
Hello. I have got a problem. Every time the phone is turned off for a longer period, when i double tap a power button camera turns on instead of flashlight. When I turn off the camera and double tam button again, flashlight works. Have anyone got this problem too? (xz1 compact, 47.2.A.8.24)
Edit: I have found out that when i remove password protection everything works
@James_Ward01 would you be willing to share your source code? I want to see if I can get the app to activate without waking the screen.

The app I have on here for download should work with the screen off as I added both android.media.action.STILL_IMAGE_CAMERA_SECURE
And android.media.action.STILL_IMAGE_CAMERA
Intent filters, the _SECURE one meaning it should work with the screen off. At least this was the case on my Nexus 6p at the time.

It does work with screen off. What I want to accomplish is to keep the screen off when I launch from the lockscreen. I don't want the screen to turn on when I double-press the power button. Maybe this is impossible?

Yes Samsung don't allow the power button to be remapped unfortunately. Glad you found a use for it though.
This works great on the pixel 5, thanks!!
Confirmed, I was using it as well on pixel 5 until now, thanks!
However, new problem :s I couldn't resist trying out Android 12 Beta 3.1 and then no power button access to flashlight anymore.

Sorry but I'm not sure to understand how your app may help : We're talking about enabling the flashlight using physical button shortcut.
Maybe I missed something but for me that's not what your app is doing, is it ?
Anyway, I'm using Torchie now and it kinda work : You enable it by pressing Vol+ AND Vol- at the same time, but it ONLY work when you're on the lockscreen and the screen is on.
So : "Power" to wake the screen, "Vol+ and Vol- together" to turn the light on or off
If anybody find something better, let us know. For now, this is a little cumbersome but it's working.
The Tap Tap app on GitHub works for flashlight by double tapping the back of the phone.
