So my primary phone just broke. It fell off 3rd floor . So I had to switch back to mmx a110, most of the links are dead. So I would highly appreciate if any of the ex-users or current users will tell me which one should I flash so that they handle all the daily apps like Instagram, Messenger etc. Hoping that atleast someone will reply! :fingers-crossed:

For two week's now now,my girlfriend keep asking pe to fiind a nice custom rom for her galaxy fit for the only reason she is bored with a official one. I tried some, i have some experiace in flashing rom( that is not a problem). But i intalled her 4 and keep asking me to find other. She doesn't need great performace because she plays app's like pou, where's, my water and she just don't need to experience lag(that's her main argument each tine). I can't find any "girly" rom and i think a launcher will only make the phone slower due to the lack of ram memory and only 600 ghz cpu.. I hope someone can help me with this matter .
try GingerDx rom
its cm7 based it has good performance so that she can play those games
plus you can use some pink themes for cm7 to make it look the way she likes

Flash Vania Rom I bet you & ur gf like it. & u can thank me for that

LOL!!! Even its for u GF or for ur grandparents, asking for best rom is prohibited in XDA...
Thanks to other for help, and if you read again i didn't asked for best rom.I asked for a simple rom for girl, i didn't sayd the "best rom" i was looking for a recommendation.
Not to blame you but it all comes down to Best Rom...most of the people ask for best rom for performance, customizing, and of course bugless, no battery drain and what u asked for might be kind of AOSP which is simple with no bloatware (well that's what "simple" really means in android)..OK its upto Moderators to think about it....
hm...girly, i don't have much experience
how about Jana Rom? my fiends like that, they are girls of course..
simple and nice to customize with pink colour, though
LOL!!!

You can go with the MIUI EXPRESSIONS rom by adityaf. For Rom review VISIT HERE
Here is the XDA post
It is the fastest ROm i've seen.Your GF will love it.
Thread closed as its a Best ROM thread.
Hi Mohitash,
First of all I thank you very much for developing PMP ROMS for samsung galaxy s duos. I almost used all of your ROMS. All the roms are very nice and made my phone (S Duos) an good and nice one. Thanks for that...
Now currently i'm using Your PMP ULTRA U-Ex ROM.... at first i had lot of problems in using this rom, it hanged a lot, but somehow i managed and made some slight changes in my own, now the rom is good and it's working pretty fast and smooth without any problems. Most importantly the battery performance is GREAT.. I had done the following things, i don't know whether it's good or not, but i request you to consider and if it's good means you can implement it in the upcoming updates....
Changes I had done:
1. After installing the ROM, i uninstalled the GO Launcher EX (as you said to use another Launcher)
2. I installed NOVA Launcher Prime (u suggested EZ Launcher) and made it as a system APP using Link2Sd.
3. Then i unistalled the GO Contacts and GO Phone applications.
4. I set the maximum and minimum frequency range using No-frills CPU control and greenified most of my applications.

Now the rom is working very smooth and fast, and battery life stands for one and half days or sometimes two days. No hanging and screen goes dark problem during incoming calls.
You said in the next update of PMP U-EX changes will be made, new launcher will be provided. But i had seen the new update (PMP U-EX RC v1.5)... no changes were made, you only updated the applications. That's why i'm saying this suggestions.
I'm not a developer and a talented person like you.. I'm just posting my experience, if it's good means, you consider otherwise you just ignore this. No offence dude..
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK:good::good::good::good:, EAGERLY WAITING FOR MANY NEW THINGS
Why not post these in the ROM's thread mate? I don't think that dev will see this post here.
Ohhh....finally seen this today....as luckily i searched "dev mohitash" randomly... and found this link in them.....
Well PMP U-Ex ROM v2 already released 2-3 days back
And v1.5 RC was a try version (RC)

hi people,
i see that there are a lot of projects for developing a KITKAT Cyanogen Mod for MTK6589/6589T devices.
and i understand that the android 4.4.2 is almost ready for the Faea F2S device(which is very similar to our W8S!)
so,
this thread will be opened for beta testers so they can install the Faea F2S ROM on there THL W8S devices and maybe soon we will have a nice android 4.4.2 CM ROM ready for out W8S device!
this thread will be updated as soon as there will be a stable ROM that we can test.
good luck!
Count me in.
Me too!!! :good::good::good:
How similar is the W8 to the Faea?
Apart from chipset, we'll need touch screen drivers etc
And do we have kernel with kitkat support?
still no kernel source!
Sad. It seems to me like we would need a miracle to get some working kitkat rom. I hope I'm wrong

I agree with you. I just give off this cell phone. It's a great cell phone and cheap, but because of MediaTek Inc. behavior it'll be stock at 4.2.1. It's awful.

Absolutely agreed with you. Mediatek's behavior is very bad. The manufactures can't even optimize their devices without paying for sources for their device etc. sadly I don't have any chances to abound mtk..
Mediatek is annoying us!
Its been 5 months since KitKat has come out, and not a single phone has got it. Well, time to shift to another phone..... Our phone is great, but the power is wasted without KitKat..... Well I'm thinking of a good phone to shift to.... Most probably I'll take "OnePlus one" its a great phone and the price is great.... Well, mediatek, sorry I don't want any part of you because you failed to release KitKat for our phone.... So, its going to be goodbye soon... Maybe, you might give us the update when android 6 is launched....
I am waiting any update since I can't really use my phone for development due to a 4.2.1 Android bug.
I have tried the Sony heart custom rom, but that fills my LogCat with something Stamina messages. In both cases it is useless the Logcat.
From custom roms, like cyanogenmode I am scared a bit: yesterday installed a CM to my old N1 and crashing freezing a software. When I wanted to give a feedback they clearly say it is not working with CM.
Also I wouldn't like to use only 1 sim, or BY or 3G data not working or Camera crashing, just because of a fancy new ROM.
For doing some calls from Sim1 and having Internet from Sim2 it is fine. It needs an external antenna for GPS and with the proper software settings it is usable. It was my first and the last Mediatek phone for sure, I don't care if it will be even 1$

The first few MTK phones with Kitkat have popped up on eBay and a few other places recently. The closest to the W8 seems to be the Haipai S5, which in turn is the same as the Star N900 but with AOSP Kitkat instead of JB. And when I say 'close', it's externally almost identical save for the flash. It runs a MTK6582. So at least we know there's an MTK version of Kitkat around.

I just ordered a Haipai S5 from China, with delivery due in three weeks or so. :fingers-crossed:
Am I brave enough to try backing up its ROM and restoring it to my W8? I don't know...
Got to get it rooted and flashed with a decent recovery first, that will probably be enough hard work for now!

Hi,
I was happy to read this posts. Do you think we could benefit from this in anyway?
http://www.xda-developers.com/mediatek-developer-friendly/
http://www.xda-developers.com/unofficial-android-4-4-mediatek/
Am stunned to see there's no feedbacks/reviews coming for this excellent rom
This is not exaggeration but seriously best 4.2 rom till date
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717302
Pros
Awesome RAM management•• very very minimal/manageable lags and no hangs
Messenger whatsapp gmail email hangout running at background but still phone is very responsive
Cool transitions
Decent battery backup
Games like gtaSA FIFA14 are working fine
Gravity Box Working Like charm
Cons
Camera always take pics with size of 1mb or around
Too much of system apps which are not required
OTG not working
While speaking over phone call gets disconnected and goes to airplane mode almost everytime
PS: reviewing after 10 days of usage bcZ all 4.2roms works cool initially then they'll slow down but that's not happening with this rom
Take my word, a MUST TRY ROM and you won't regret later
To dev: @sagar.singh
I used my thankss quota of 8 for the day BRO .. Please fix the bugs and release version 3 bro...

everything depends on a person's taste
every ROM has it's advantages and disadvantages depending on one's use. Nearly all the ROMs here are great.

@movie.wizard All the developers here are doing their best to update the roms as soon as possible and without any bugs, i've come across many roms which are good enough, at the end of the day it all boils to how you use your phone and how well you know to install a rom lol.
