Just because you are curious. No OC, balanced mode.
These don't mean anything to the actual performance of a ROM. Keep that in mind.

This is with Tesla 20170317 and ElementalX 1.04, overclocked. The downside is I had to switch back to the stock Tesla kernel because it ElementalX refused to see my sdcard. Not good!

Very true. Benchmarks are merely a rough indicator of overall performance under a fixed set of conditions. Actual use of a device will usually vary widely from the benchmark parameters.

As the title says it Im looking for the best rom kernel mix on the Moto G to unleash the beast
Still want some nice features & tweaks tho
Also want battery life but that I can tweak a bit myself...
Really want best performance in multitasking and everything I do not play any games I dont care if my moto g cant play games I only want it to perform in what I do most often... as my moto g is the 8gb version:
-Surf the web on chrome alot
-Listen to different music apps
-Do some work
-FB/Messenger
-Hangouts sms
-Youtube
Want you guys to share what are the best ROMS/KERNELS for the best performance!
Thanks Guys!
Currently running:
Moto G 2013 XT032 falcon
SlimSaber 6.0.1 UberTC
Kaminari Kernel UberTC5.3.x 1.6GHz CPU 533MHz GPU
Just my opinion: Presently if you wanna try CM based ROM, then give Resurrection remix a shot, with its inbuilt kernel. If you wanna go with AOSP then try Turbo ROM.

nevertheless... ID crisis 6.
For performance? easily ZERO Byte kernel by @BryanByteZ. Overclock to 1.6ghz cpu and 600 mhz GPU (1.1 and 450 are the normal values)
Latest ID crisis with latest kaminarikernel, Simply smooth
Im trying to make my moto g last at least 4hs Sot, running smooth always and without lags in games. I want to know wich is the best combination so if anyone knows and want to share his experience, I would say, THANKS!

I had been using CM 13 and Hurtsky Kernel since the release. I've had a hard time with that and now I moved to Identity Crisis which is based on stock and Kaminari Kernel. The performance is mind blowing and I get around 5 hours of SoT with heavy usage. UI is really fast and fluidic.
Here's the link to the ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-identity-crisis-6-t3324595
And here's the link to the Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/orig-development/kernel-kaminarikernel-v2-0-t3345716

i'm on the latest from DirtyUnicorn(10.6) with Valkyrie V6(hurtsky's) and i get 4-5hrs SOT on mobile data with sw2w enabled for a full charge (though i never let my battery go below 50%). NO xposed(greenify+amplify) installed. though i have disabled most of the non-essential services with MyAndroidTools.

Not really. The only thing I do is set the minimum CPU frequency to 400 Hz. Otherwise I just leave it with default settings and it works great.
"Best" is such a misused term in the ROM world...
In my opinion, the best is stock... The performance and battery life are exemplary. Moto might screw up a lot of stuff, but they can certainly optimize a ROM.
I just downgraded from Lineage 14.1 to CM 13. Never flashed a custom kernel. It's amazing. No more bugs with Bluetooth or mobile data, far better battery life. I'm at 26% with 4 hrs SOT. I used to barely get 3 with Nougat.
So IMO you should stick with roms based on official Moto software. Unfortunately, almost all of the ones still being updated are Nougat based and thus have lots of bugs. I'm using the last cm13 snapshot from late December.

AOSP-CAF + LineageOS Kernel. Really satisfying in battery and performance.

Fiops I/O Scheduler (Internal Storage 512)
Noop I/O Scheduler (External Storage 1024)
Adreno Idler
MSM Performance Hotplug
Very Agressive Low Memory Killer
I choose this ROM and configuration because it provides optimal RAM consumption, with an average of 350Mb free RAM with 29 applications installed. Also, I get an average battery life of 16 hours with moderate to heavy use and up to 14 days on standby. I have yet to find a custom ROM (and I'm in no way being negative with regard to the great custom ROMs for the Osprey) that can match the results I get from stock 6.0.1.
Battery life sounds really great! Why not vote in the poll?

You should use any AOSP-CAF based rom (Tesla Rom recommended) with squid or fire kernel if you want that type of battery backup.
I managed to get 6:30 hr of SOT with 1 day battery backup while WiFi is always on. (I had SS but deleted while flashing other ROM)
Though now i am using AOSPExtended Rom since Tesla Rom is stopped for our device.

Nice results. I love the custom kernels by both @FireLord and @squid2. I've had great results from those kernels as well. I'll try your recommendations and couple one of those kernels with the Tesla ROM. (I'm a long time fan of Tesla Coil Apps, e.g. Nova Launcher.) Thanks for the tip.
Maybe a link to each ROM would be helpful in the poll would be helpful.

I've been a long-time user of Tesla and Validus ROMs on my Moto E (2nd Gen) LTE. I agree these ROMs do give optimal performance, they are lightweight and streamlined, & provide the user with a plethora of customization options. I also love the GZR based Kernel Adiutor app....
I have tried most of the available roms and my favorite up until recently was PureNexus. Now I am using ASOP CAF and I am loving it.

Hi there guys. I'm testing RR on my phone and I was wondering which kernel should I mix with this room? Any recommendation?
I'm using Dirty Unicorns now.
I have used AOSiP-rom, AOSPExtended, Tesla. I can't say one is better than the other. You can customize them well.
They are all stable and smooth. It is just a feeling what you like most.
I like aosp-roms most .
We are glad to have a lot of devs who maintain their rom.

I've been using the most recent Tesla ROM for the xt1548 now for three days, along with @squid2's r19 kernel with personalized settings. I must admit that I get premium battery life and RAM optimization, to around the same extent as my stock setup listed previously.
Thanks @xMotoDA and @androidbaba for the tips.
AOSP CAF Osprey
using this rom for about 20 days.......believe me it is smooth than all other roms as it is based on caf........also i gives an awesome battery backup with alucard hotplug, gov interactive pro ,arch power on..............in the recent update it has become more battery friendly as it is based on stock motorola mm kernel........try it.......u will love it

If you are going to use ASOP CAF rom don't change any kernel settings for the latest version. See the thread for discussion.
Is there a custom kernel needed to over clock RR 5.7.4 on my gt p3100
How do I overclock it?
nobody answer because there is no custom kernel available to overclock the latest roms.
only chance, build your own kernel.

Yes there is ! You want speed right? If you do then install noob kernel. It's made for giving only speed but it also increases battery life ( if it's physically good)
