Mi mix screen protector - Xiaomi Mi MIX Accessories

Hello guys
I'm looking for screen protector that fit the mix , but I'm not able to find one as most of the screen protector I purchase didn't fit right and have air around the side and corner
Can you guys advice me which screen protector you use that doesn't have air around the side or corner
So for my english

Yes, I had the same problem with the first screen protector I bought, it didn't fit properly.
But the second type fits the entire front completely, bought it on gearbest: http://www.gearbest.com/screen-protectors/pp_591936.html
This one fits Mi Mix perfectly. I only have one issue, there is this "rainbow pattern" (not typical bubbles) Not sure if it's something with the glass or I just messed up when putting it on. Here's a picture.

I agree 100%. The screen protector from Gearbest is by far the best one ive found, and have been will to try. There are a lot on ebay, but you have to wait quite some time for them to arrive, and I for one am not willing to wait. I also get the same rainbow affect on my screen protector, but its not enough to make me return it.

I had this one but the rainbow affect and touch issues return it. There is a better one
Look at this http://www.ebay.com/itm/332032300020?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
And my mix with it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...hybrid-glass-screen-protectors-t3531581/page3

i got this and it is so far the best no rainbow effect no touch issue.. screen clarity the best. The first pc i got from seller got slight rainbow and the side peel up.... the 2nd pc i order month later is of much better quality... superb.:good:

I can vouch for the quality of it. Ordered 5 because I have bad luck with getting these things on. No rainbow Halo, no touch issues, and good clarity. Only problem is that it's a fingerprint magnet but I can live with that. Maybe I should apply oleophobic coating...

Awesome! Just put in my order...
Thanks!

Ordered two of these, exactly the ones that are linked above. Newtonrings (oil effect), fingerprints are like a gray topping, protector to small. If you place it exactly at top of the screen the message led is covered half. Sorry guys, you've ordered crap. Ah, a dot pattern these have too. Like all others i've tried.

what case is pictured there?

Just put this one on my Mix:
http://www.gearbest.com/screen-protectors/pp_582770.html
Perfect adhessiveness and sturdy looking (not planning on actually testing shock or scratch real protection).
It does NOT, by far, cover the whole screen though. I read around that is normal and something very difficult to come around with edge-curved screens, and big ones to boot, and also especially difficult to find high-quality ones like spigen and zagg as they do not manufacture for these brands...
Anyone with a full-coverage working screen protector that doesn't suck?
Thanks!

I got a screen protector from Aliexpress (WEIYU Full Coverage Tempered Glass Screen Protector Ultra Thin Explosion Proof 9H Safety Protective Film For Xiaomi Mi Mix 6.4)
and it was the worst piece garbage I ever purchased.
It was a terrible product, probably the worst screen protector I have ever purchased. I'm sure it's not the sellers fault, he's just reselling the item but this product is terrible. Once it's firmly placed on the device you are left with what looks like a ring of rainbow colors in the middle of the screen when light hits the display, I did some research online and it's because the screen protector only sticks around the edges, not throughout the whole display meaning no adhesive in the middle. Also this is not tampered glass, so if this thing breaks (which it did when I decided to take it off because It bothered me so much, luckily nothing happened to my display) it's very dangerous with shreds of glass everywhere.
I don't recommend anyone buying this thing, I don't understand how a company like Xiaomi doesn't release official accessories for the Mi Mix, they freaking make vacuum cleaners and all types of redundant bs but they can't properly make a decent screen protector or a nice official leather flip cover?

I tried like 4 different ones and in the end opted for going screen naked. All of them sucked one way or the other and the smooth feeling of the screen was always replaced with plastic sticky **** feeling. I try to be careful and well, I got a couple of scratches already but man, such is life. Prefer it at not seeing or touching the real screen

I know the feeling, I can already see tiny micro scratches on the screen when light hits it, it's impossible to find a decent screen protector for this thing. Xiaomi must've used a the cheapest quality glass for the front panel, I haven't had this phone that long to get so many little micro scratches and like you I baby this thing.

Yep. That's the dilemma I guess. A pity glass cover is not more resistant. I see less scratches in my 4 year old Nexus 5 :crying::silly:

Is there a wet applied screen protector of the right dimensions. Usually I have better luck than glass or regular film, plus no bubbles or other effects (but I always buy more than one also).

OK friends
Here is the best clear coat screen protector made in usa, little expensive but worth it.

Have you tried it yourself? Does it cover the full screen in any way or leaves the curved edges out?

XtremeGuard > InvisibleShield screen protectors

I ordered this protector off Amazon at the same time I ordered my Otterbox Commuter case. Got it yesterday and applied it tonight. This protector is kind that is applied with a soapy water solution, similar to that of a full body skin like InvisibleShield. This protector was $2 on Amazon so I figured why not give it a shot. I have installed IS protectors before so I knew what I was getting myself in to and was up to the challenge.
First and foremost, the seller (Prestige Solutions) processed and shipped my order as fast as could be expected. Order was placed on the 24th, shipped on the 25th, I received it on the 27th. It arrived in a regular envelope and included the protector itself, a cleaning cloth and a squeegee as well as very clear and easy to follow instructions for application. It took all of 5 minutes to do the install, and only took that long because I had a couple problem spots along the edge of the screen that I had to give a little extra attention to in order to make sure it adhered properly. Installation goes something like this: Remove the battery. Get a bowl of water and add a couple drops of dish soap or baby shampoo to it. Clean the screen and then wet your fingers and with your wet fingers, peel the backing off the protector. Wet the back of the protector completely and place it on the screen. I just used my fingers to get the protector wet, making sure to moisten the whole back side and allowing the excess to drip off before setting on the phone. I then got my microfiber towel and while sliding the protector into place, absorbed any excess water that got near the speaker or began to ooze out from under the protector. Once in place I used the squeegee and started "brushing" it over the protector to get as much of the water and bubbles out as possible, dabbing the phone with the microfiber to absorb the excess. Once I got as much of the moisture out as possible, and once the protector felt it was sticking nicely, I used the micofiber one last time to make sure the edges were stuck down firmly and cleaned the protector as well.
The key is using just enough water, it sounds hard and maybe dangerous, but it's very easy and as long as you don't get carried away with the water you should be fine. It will take a few days for the protector to fully cure and the remaining moisture to evaporate so don't fret if you notice some under there the next day. Once it's completely cured and dried you shouldn't even be able to tell it's there, aside from the slight edges you can see around the ear speaker and camera. This protector is cut very precisely and fits like a glove. It's pretty thin and has a rubbery kind of feel to it once wet. Compared to the Gorilla Glass, it doesn't feel quite as slick, but then again I've only had it on for 3hrs now and haven't gotten a real feel for it yet since i'm just letting it cure. Speaking of which, it says you should leave the battery out for 24hrs as a safety precaution to allow any water to dry up, although generally 8hrs is plenty. It also states that it will take 1-2 days for any haziness and bubbles to go away. Having done this before, I assure you that's exactly what happens and once fully cured it looks lovely.
I will post an update in the second post here in a couple days with my review of the look and feel of it.

**Follow up**
Well, the protector is fully cured so here's my take.
The main thing, it did not negatively effect the quality of the display, you cant even tell its there aside from the slight edge around the camera. But other than that its invisible. It is perfectly cut, is very thin and even when u tilt the screen at an angle to catch the reflection you dont see any texture at all, its like nothing is there. Its optically clear and allows the display to shine. The only thing I dont like about it is that it does not shed fingerprints effortlessly like the bare screen does. But I like that it also makes the screen more grippy. The glass was very slick, almost too slick for my liking, its not slick anymore but allows ur fingers to glide across it but without letting them get away from you. I actually enjoy typing much more on it now as my thumbs arent sliding on to neighboring letters anymore, improving my accuracy tremendously. Aside from the fingerprint issue, I love this protector and highly suggest it to anyone looking for one. Its the best $2 you're gonna spend on ur phone!
**Update**
I was able to compare this $2 screen protector to the much more popular and widely available InvisibleShield screen protector, which is virtually the same thing, a wet applied protector. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.....Keep in mind the InvisibleShield protector is about $20 in stores.
My phone, in Otterbox Commuter w/XtremeGuard screen protector
Random phone w/InvisibleShield screen protector
I have two friends at work, both with Samsung Galaxy S phones, one has the SGSII, and both of them have the InvisibleShield protector installed and they look even worse than the one pictured above....it looks like an orange peel on steroids, I kid you not. After seeing my protector, they both want XtremeGuards now! Which would you prefer?
good review! just out of curiosity, why did you get a screen protector for your phone if we have gorilla glass? i am trying to figure out if i want one or not.
also is your screen smooth like glass or is it kind of sticky? i ask because i don't like dragging my finger on the screen and the screen protector kind of makes it tacky. from what i remember, the invisible shield does that.
Gorilla glass still scratches.I know for a fact since I have a 1cm scratch I acquired before ordering the xtreme guard.

No worries. You'll be happy with it, just don't use too much soap and follow the direction to the T. I have no bubbles, no dust, no streaks and best of all, no orange peel!
I just ordered it and hopefully it comes just as quickly as yours did. I didn't get an otterbox though. I got the tpu one just because I like the feeling alittle better. I will try to post result asap.

If you bought it from the same seller, bank on it! They did not mess around, it actually came earlier than expected. Alot of people swear by the TPU cases, I may just get one to see what it's all about.
I personally like them. I had on for my last phone and it did a good job. It isn't an extremely snug fit but it wrapped around the phone just right so it didn't need to be snug.

Just a question, please :
Is this screen protector hard or soft ?
I did use a complete Invisible Skin on my HD, but I removed the screen part, as it made it rubbery, so the stylus was sinking inside the material, and the fingers disn't slip well (it was really rubbery, then )
Plus it rendered like orange skin, just like your second picture, so the readability was decreased.
I was glad with the all the other parts (complete protection) however, as the rubbery aspect was desirable there : it added increased anti-slip effect, plus it's a very good protection - it made the HD almost as bumpy as a rubber ball.
But you have to know that it did't last much more than two years.
The material became yellowish, then became very fragile and tore apart even under slight nail pressure.
Finally, the material unstuck itself, leaving the glue-like part on the phone !
Of course, it's important to know we have a temperate to hot tropical climate here (never cold, then), and most glue or synthetic material don't last very long (for instance, all fabric fall off from car's roofs after a few years, because the glue and/or the foam lining underneath can't stand the temperature for too long).
also, i was wondering, did they give you a tracking number? i ordered if from the same person but i checked on amazon and there is no tracking number or anything. it just says it has been shipped.

Can you make a video of you installing it and post it on YouTube? I just got my atrix 2 and ordered the screen protector. Butt guess what I bought the screen protector and a cover as a combo but for the first atrix! I was so excited that I didn't even notice it. At least the car charger still works. Oh well ill have to order the correct item again. When the items arrived I was mas cause thought they messed up, I later looked at my order and realized I was the one mistaken.

Oh ok, just wondering. Somebody asked me to take mine off and make a video of the installation so I was just wondering what you were up to and if you'd be able to handle that. But no worries. I personally don't think a video of how to install it is necessary but sometimes people just need to visual to get them to do it, or not.
Ya I agree with you. The directions are pretty self explanatory for installing any screen protector. Just don't get soapy water all of the place.

Tell Me Your Experience NOT Using A Screen Protector

I've had my Z1C a little less than a month. I started using a screen protector immediately because of all the warnings I saw here. In the first case I used one of those thin plastic protectors; I didn't like the look or feel. I'm currently using a glass protector; better look and feel. BUT, I really would like to use the phone without any screen protector. I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 for 3-1/2 years that I used without a screen protector (or case). The screen had NO scratches on it when I donated it to charity (the case was a bit roughed up). If any of you have had the Z1C more than 3 months and DON'T use a screen protector, can you tell me how well the screen is holding up? Do you have regrets about NOT using a protector? What is your opinion of all the "must use a screen protector" warnings.
I really like this phone, except for the whole screen delicacy issue. Your opinions are valued. Thanks.
Until they start making Phones with 100% scratch proof/resistant glass then I'll never be without one, the first task before even switching a new Phone on is to apply the provided or pre purchased screen protector because each scratch on the screen directly or even the ASF lowers resale value imo.
I don't believe anyone can properly use a Phone for 3 years and not get a single scratch.
My I9001 (Galaxy S Plus) also didn't have any scratches without ever having used a case or protector. I'm just using one with the Z1C because it was twice as expensive, I don't really think I'd need one.

Not sure what your definition of "properly" is, but I did use my Galaxy S2 for more than 3 years in both the jungles of Costa Rica and the urban jungles of the US, with nary a scratch. ? Never used a case or protector and always carried it in my front pants pocket. Made sure it was the only thing in that pocket. Am I unique? I doubt it. There must be at least one other soul out there with the same luck. ☺

Glad to hear our Galaxy experiences were similar. And like you, with all the negative comments on screen scratches, I'm using a protector too. Just would prefer not to. In my case, I paid much more for the S2 than this new Z1. Still, I'd like to keep the screen as undamaged as possible. It's hard for me to believe screens have gotten softer, rather than harder. Might the issue be a bit exaggerated? That's why I'm looking for responses from users not using protection.

Hmm...
...(skip to 1:00) well that's interesting. I think the main problem with Sony is that the logo is baked into the ASF so if you remove it you remove the logo which I certainly don't want to do, but even then given the search results for gorilla glass scratched, I still wouldn't want to be without one.

So, it seems that the issue is not the softness of the glass, it's the softness of the ASF. So, once the ASF is damaged (a week, a month, a year, perhaps 3 years ) it can be removed and a glass protector or oleophobic coating liquid could be used to "refresh" the screen. So, what to do, what to do, hmmm? 1. Add a protector right away. 2. Remove the ASF once it gets damaged and add a protector. Or... 3. Remove the ASF once it gets damaged and use the coating liquid. None of these are really options I was looking for. So...again...anyone out there having good success with the Z1C's screen after 3 months of use who hasn't added any type of protection?
its like sex without a condom. much more fun without the protection, but you are afraid all the time
I've had mine for about 7 months and there has begun to appear small 'smudge-like' blemishes on the ASF. They're practically unnoticeable in daily use, partly because they're so small and 'light', but mostly because they're covered up by all the fingerprints. This is how I came to this thread, I noticed the fingerprints and thought perhaps I should test a scratch-protector, decided to wipe the phone to show off my 'protector-free spotless screen', but lo and behold, there are (albeit very slight) imperfections below the smudges!
While considering the period of use (7 months, not long, but not short either), these 'scratches' are hardly noteworthy, but I could definitively image it becoming a "problem" after 2-3 years, though it certainly depends on the care of which you handle the phone. I too keep my phone alone in the pocket as I'm sure keys would make quick work of the seemingly malleable ASF. I've twice during this period dropped the phone behind the bed, but never any significant (read: pavement) or high-height drops. But if you want your phone to stay mint then I'd probably have to recommend a scratch-protector. Perhaps even wiping the phone with certain kind of fabrics create these slight blemishes as well, or at least worsens prior scuff-marks.
But I'm worried about your opinions on the screen-protectors since I too have always disliked them (from afar, I've never actually used them myself.) I used my phone without any sort of protection for the first 6.5 months, just recently I received a semi-thin (terrapin) case because I noticed how bad the plastic backside was getting scratched for some reason -- worst part is I like the terrapin, which I didn't think I would, so I wish I'd gotten around to it earlier. When compared to the plastic backside, the ASF is pure diamond.
Think I'll order some type of scratch-protector to see if I can live with it, but I'm also not too worried about making the screen unreadable by not using one.

Thanks for your reply. As I've read the responses here, I've become convinced that a screen protector is probably generally needed. Sad . I currently have the Skinomi Techskin Carbon Fiber applique on the back. It looks good. I tried the Skinomi screen protector, but disliked the look and feel. I'm now using the Brando Tempered Glass Rounded Edition. It looks great and feels right to the touch. Other than 2 tiny flaws (one in the glass and one caused by my not getting all the dust off), it's nearly perfect. (And Brando's customer service is second to none!) So...I guess I'm going to use the protection, as much as I think it is a serious flaw on Sony's part. Not sure what their rationale was in using ASF. I expect more from them.
That being said, I love this phone.
Agree and I appreciate the suggestions/recommendations.
I was hesitant to upload a photo of my phone because everything looks way worse than it really is.

95% of what you see in the picture is invisible in real life. So it's not as bad as it might seem, and a lot of it is probably just grease/dust rather than physical marks, but a lot of it is real (regardless if you can see it with your eyes or not) and is bound to accumulate further over time. The bottom left scuff is real but it does not look anything as bad as it does in that picture -- might have come about while phone was sliding around under my bed or something, though it looks more like 'pocket-wear' rather than a 1-time-accident. Perhaps most of if could have been avoided by having a raised-edge case.

Thanks for the picture.
I used my phone for 4 days without screen protection. The accumulation of finger prints was extreme. But even more extreme was the way the phone acted as a dust magnet. Again, I'm assuming the ASF was the issue. The screen protection eliminated most of the dust issue and a good deal of the finger print intensity. And, of course, the back protection eliminated all of the dust and finger print issues.
So... I guess I'm beating a dead horse. ? This phone requires protection.
My experience is really bad... I got scrathes 2 hours after i got my phone (both on the back and on the front)... I applied a protector on the back. But i found a site that sells original Sony ASF (it has the Sony logo printed on it). So I decided that once this one looks too bad I'll replace it.
I can search for the link if you want me to.

I guess you missed the "NOT".
I'm using the Z1c since release and got a new one in June (warranty). I never used a protector on any of my phones. The first Z1c I had got many small scratsches (not visible when the screen was on) - but still had many scratches. Since the new one I'm really careful and that helps a lot: not visible scratch since June:

[Q] Xperia Z3 - How tough is the glass

Now, before someone chimes in about the properties of the glass material, and how the strength is dependent on a number of factors (microscopic cracks and pits, inherent strength, type of force, etc).
1. Is the Z3 Gorilla Glass front and back? (or is it using Dragontrail?) or other tempered glass?
2. What about the Camera lens?
3. Are YOU using the phone naked? I am for the time being, but have ordered a tempered glass front protector which comes with a film back
I've got a white one, so I'm not super concerned about fingerprints, but for our black Z3 bretheren, how are you coping with it?
All opinions welcome!
The glass feels different to my S4, I don't think it's the same (which was gorilla glass), this one feels slightly less "glassy". It's not something I noticed at first, but after tapping out an email you start to notice.
I don't use a case yet but will probably get a nice one when more start coming out
And I haven't had any problems with fingerprints, actually I think I might get less on the screen than with my S4.
Z2 owner here, I'm not sure if the glass is the same, but for the record, I am using a case* because I dropped mine very soon after getting it and shattered the screen. It fell out of my pocket from the seat of a (tall) car, which should give you an idea of height. There was a few small pieces of gravel, but I'm not sure if it was the drop or gravel that caused the crack.
Unlike my old HTC One (M7)**, the broken screen rendered the handset useless. My local (Ireland) repair shop wanted around €250 to replace it, but I found a crowd in the UK on eBay that did it for half that price, and they did a bang up job of it too. I actually went back to this phone over the temporary replacement I bought, as the replacement didn't perform as well.
I saw someone say recently that the Z3 has a clear plastic back, but I'm skeptical about that.
* Two actually, the official case for around the house as it's light and would probably protect against most indoor drops, and a cheap-but-sturdy Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit for outside.
** Yes, I broke that too. And the Sensation XE before it. I really should have known better with the Z2, but like many I hate putting cases on lovely phones like these.
I am using a case because i'm fed up of having scratched up phones as I drop them a lot. I have just bought a Nillkin glass protector and use a £2.99 rubberised back case for the back.
The phone is pretty flexible like the other Z's so i'd hazard that it's using something other than gorilla glass.
It's not gorilla glass, it's just your average tempered glass.
Feels very similar to the iPad Air glass, in that it feels more plasticky. It doesn't have that nasty pocket of air between glass and display though like the iPad, so feels less "cheap".
Either way it scratches very easily and loves fingerprints much more than the gorilla glass. All of the generic glass screen protectors on the market have the exact same feel to them as the Z3's front and back panels.
Back of my soon to be replaced Z3 has loads of scratches from simply sitting on a desk. The smallest piece of dust can and will cause many hairline scratches. Any rough surface seems to cause thicker scratches that you can feel under your nail, from the tiniest nudge.
I'm waiting for someone to create a matte plastic protector for the back, or at the very least a tempered glass protector for the back. Matte will make it a lot more grippier though.
For the time being I have a metallic black "skin" which is ready to put on the back of my replacement.
It's dragontrail I think, and it dosent feel "glessy" because there is screen protector on both front and back gless.
My Z1 dropped 4 tines from about 1 and half meters, and there is no single scratch on it.
Trust me, glass on xperia is much more durable then on any other phone.

I can bet there is screen protector, you just don't see them.
Sony puts screen protector almost on every phone since xperia arc.

I saw the kit for the z3 it includes a matte screen guard.
Sony hasn't used anti shatter film since Z1 fact.
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Agreed with the above. Definitely no anti shatter film on this - coming from a previous Z, Z1 and Z2 owner.
I got a Nillkin tempered glass protector this morning, which came with a film back.
Both the front glass and the film back are near perfectly sized - edge to edge. Front works a treat, but I may take the back film off, as the edge to edge fit with the edge of the film means that it feels rigid in my hand (much like a Z2) rather than the soft rounded feeling of the Z3 without the film.
Would the back scratch if im careful with it (keep it away from sand, etc)? thoughts?
Imo the back might pick up a few hairline scratches yeah.
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
I've got a black one, so I'd imagine both scratches and prints are more noticeable compared to a white surface. I have not used the phone naked: I left both Sony films on until I got my case and screen protector, which is anti-fingerprint and like the one on my previous phone, seems to work well.

not to be rude, but that is really careless on your part. one thing i've learned through the years of owning phones is never put a phone in you back pocket for this reason. it puts a lot of pressure no matter how big or small you are. another thing i've found out the hard way is never put a phone on your lap while in a car!
This thread convinced me to pick up an Nillikin 9H glass protector for the front while I wait for http://dbrand.glass/ to provide products for the Z3. Carbon Fiber Dbrand skin for the back, tempered glass protector for the front!

Whitestone Dome Review

So, I finally got around to installing my Whitestone Dome tempered glass screen protector.
Initial thoughts...
-The kit is overwhelming when you first open it. Don't be tempted to try and identify every little piece in it. The packaging design is genius, and waste is at an absolute minimum.
-They scienced the **** out of this. The alignment is perfect. Not askew in the slightest.
-It is NOT full-coverage. I'm admittedly disappointed in this aspect. It covers the responsive part of the display, but it does not go edge-to-edge. This gives it a tangible learning curve in terms of hand and finger placement during use.
-If you follow the instructions to the letter, and don't try and cut corners, it will go smoothly.
-There will be a mess to cleanup. Price of admission.
-You never knew you could see dust so small in size, and the OCD in you will not let you even begin until you clear every last speck.
I hope this might help someone on the fence, or at least entertain mildly.

If it were edge to edge, you wouldn't be able to put it in a case without it lifting and essentially depositing the 60 bucks or whatever that 50 cent piece of tempered glass costs for the Note 9 in the trash.
Yeah. The S9+ Whitestone was more 'edge-to-edge' than the one for the Note 9. I don't mind. The S9+'s WSD was somewhat a pain with some cases so I appreciate the not quite edge-to-edge fit of the Note 9 WSD.

True. I hadn't thought about that aspect since I don't use cases anymore. I've got a skin on the back for the sake of scratches, and this is my first tempered glass screen protector. I like that it feels just like the naked glass, even if the actual coverage will take some getting used to. [emoji106]

Yeah, it's definitely less noticeable when it's in a case. They should make an edge to edge and case friendly version.
I had an install issue where it looks like a small plastic cutout was left on the screen edge. Not sure how this happened because my screen was clean and I removed the backing and put it down quickly. I noticed the issue during the glue portion and couldn't get the glue to cover the area =/

Do you have any pics of your dbrand skin?
So I bit the bullet and tried this...first time with the dome glass....and I loved it! Installation is a PITA but it went perfectly and the glass was amazing...until I dropped the phone today and it shattered! (sigh)
$45 and it lasted 3 days, UGH! Of course, better to break the protector than the screen itself.
What's stopping dust particles settling on the phone when the glue is poured on to the screen?

Well, I guess nothing will stop the determined mote of dust from spoiling the application. I used this product on three S8s (and have it on order for my Note 9), and I did have an pesky bit of black schmutz under the glass. But it was only noticeable when the background was white (which is, like, almost always). I was sloppy, and not taking my time, and didn't really clean my work area as I should have. But the set up came with two vials of adhesive, and I was able to remove the glass and re-apply. The adhesive is more like cured rubber cement than a sticky glue.

In general, nothing. When you're doing the install and get to this point, I'd suggest taking a second to hit the screen with another pass of the dust tape, then resting the glass protector on the speaker pin as you let it spread towards the center (which then acts as a bit of a dust shield).
I would think if you're lucky and don't push down on the glass, as you're not supposed to, that most dust will push out to the sides as the adhesive spreads. Just a thought.
Does anyone else have any sticky residue coming from the sides when you rub the edges? Quite annoying, granted it might be a bit my fault as I immediately picked up the phone after all the glue adhered to the screen and then it started to slide up and down. I should have just let it sit and used the UV light to cure it in place. But wanting to know if anyone else who did it perfectly is getting glue residue along the edges.

Once the screen has cured you should be able to use alcohol to clear out any glue from the edges. I had a Dome on my Note 8, flawless install, the phone literally slid off my lap about 12 inches onto my car console and there was a crack through the length of the Dome glass. It looks beautiful, works great, but it's as hard as a potato chip. There is no way the phone screen would have cracked from that. These types of cracks happen a lot with the WSD protectors.
It was my first time with the WSD as well.
One issue I had was during lifting the top jig frame after laying the glass and curing it for 15secs. The top part of the frame was tight against the glass. So when I tried to lift the frame out, it lifted the glass as well!!
Then I decided to use my fingers to press down the glass before lifting the frame.
Yes,, I had lots of tiny bubbles on the top left. Luckily, after 2 days, almost all bubbles disappeared. Phew!
As for those afraid of dust, make sure you install in a clean environment with no source of wind. I did it after closing my windows, ceiling fan and also breathed softly. And don't forget to use the stickers to lift up the dust EVEN if you don't see any!

Accessories [review] whitestone dome glass and cases

whitestone was kind enough to send me these protectors for free to review for you guys. other than the free items I'm not being compensated for this. I've been using the domes since the pixel went curved and they have always been great. not the easiest install, but such is life with a curved screen. they have an installation video on their website for the 6 Pro and the 7 pro is the exact same process. for those who haven't done this before the gist is that you tape off the sides, pop the phone in the tray, cover the speaker, clean all the dust off, drop the adhesive, place the protector and then uv cure it. I've done this many, many times and have only screwed it up 3 (ironically twice on the pixel 6,) but if you get air bubbles just clean the phone up and start again.
this time went off without a hitch, and the results were perfect. I didn't reregister my fingerprints like they suggest to do and I don't see any difference in performance. after the **** show that was the 6 pros scanner the 7 pro has been great for me.
they also sent me a few cases, as well as their dome film. the cases are nice and offer decent protection, but they are simply rebranded so you have likely run across them before. since I went with the dome glass I didn't try out the film, but it has me intrigued.
if you have any questions let me know, and if you want to pick these up you can order from whitestone here. that's not an affiliate link, and FALL10 gets you an extra 10% off.

the easy way is to get a laminated card and use it to pry the protector off. it'll almost certainly crack as you're peeling it off, but it comes off and a quick wipe down will get rid of any residue

When the adhesive is cured it has the consistency of dried rubber cement. The damaged protector should peel off easily, just go slow so you don't damage it further, and as mentioned, use a business card or credit card to peel it up, so you don't get glass shards in your fingers. I've been using whitestone for years, it's quite easy.
One tip for installation: Lower the protector onto the screen SLOWLY. Let it touch the adhesive first, so the adhesive starts to spread, then SLOWLY lower it down to the final position. "Dropping" it in place is what causes bubbles.
With this wet process, if you have a speck of dust or a tiny piece of hair on the screen when you apply the adhesive, will you get an air bubble like you would with peel and stick protectors, or will the thickness of the adhesive encompass and prevent air bubbles? Just trying to see how forgiving this process is. I usually apply peel and stick protectors in a slightly steamy bathroom to keep down the flying dust in the air. I'm worried about what happens if a speck of dust inadvertently gets on the screen... Will you have to possibly wipe off all of the adhesive and start over, possibly running out of adhesive.
I ordered my P7P on launch day and received it last Thursday. In anticipation, I bought the AACL Hybrid Film. (The Whitestone Dome was, and still is, on pre-order.) Unfortunately, although I carefully viewed the instructional video more than once, and again during the installation, I was unable to get any of the protector's edges to adhere and, therefore, never got to the UV curing end-stage. I returned it to Amazon for a refund.
I then tried the IMBZBK, which is similar to the Whitestone Dome. Also, at $34.99 it's somewhat less expensive than the Whitestone (on pre-order sale at $39.99). Although, beginning with the Samsung Vibrant, I've installed many film and tempered glass screen protectors, this was my first experience using LOCAS and UV curing.
Again, I watched the instructional video several times before beginning the installation. During the installation, I frequently stopped and reviewed sections before moving on. All in all, the process was straightforward and, having done it once I'm less concerned about doing it again.
With a liquid adhesive, it's vital that the phone be level during the installation. Helpfully, IMBZBK includes a bubble level in the frame that holds the phone. Out of an abundance of caution, I followed my normal practice of doing the install in a somewhat steam bathroom with the shower running.
The initial results--I only received and installed the IMBZBK yesterday afternoon--are so good that I canceled my order of the Spigen Neo Flex protector and won't order the Whitestone. Of course, if circumstances change, I'll revisit the situation.
Before installing, I increased display sensitivity, expecting to redo my fingerprints. But I haven't needed to. Also, the feel of the protector is quite similar to that of my wife's (currently unprotected) P7, but just a little less slippery.
Of course, I've been using the IMBZBK for less than a day. If things change, I'll try to report back.
How far does the screen protector go, wondering if my Spigen liquid air will fit (P7P)
@kellybrf why is there a cutout in the top of your case? Do the cases impeded the reception?

Any halo effect when the screen is on, around the edges of the TG? If it stops just short of the bezels then light will seep through and refract through the glass.

Does anyone know when the Whitestone will be available for the public? Also.. When can we expect it here in Europe?
There is one listened on Amazon for Germany. So we can already order it. It says avaiable from 31.10.
OK - just saw it`s now listened as "not avaiable" - yesterday i was able to preorder it for 29€
In my orders it says it will be delivered at November the 4th...

Whitestone has some tray-included competition now, but I hate the process as a whole. Have to basically sit in a humid, dust-free environment and hope the liquid doesn't creep into your speakers or pop-up camera. Just a fraction of the things that can go wrong.

Just to clarify... Is this a plastic foil or is it glass? I'm surprised about the description from Amazon plus the pictures - they show a very flexible piece of plastic and not a static glass like with the Whitestone for the Pixel 6 (Pro).
Any idea?

Just to clarify... Is this a plastic foil or is it glass? I'm surprised about the description from Amazon plus the pictures - they show a very flexible piece of plastic and not a static glass like with the Whitestone for the Pixel 6 (Pro).
Any idea?

There are two variants from Whitestone. "Dome Glass", which is like tempered glass, and "UV GEN", which is a film. I never know which one people are referring to, but I guess most are using the "Dome Glass". It doesn't help that Amazon is mixing up the product titles. Here are the two Amazon links:

Ah! Thanks. the link in your first post was linking to the film version - which I didn't know that it existed. I always thought that Whitestone only sells glass protectors when it comes to UV.
Thanks for the clarification though!
What was the price for the glass version (which isn't available anymore on AMZ)?

@kellybrf why is there a cutout in the top of your case? Do the cases impeded the reception?

This is for MMWave used by Verizon. Your hand can block the signal. Yes it is fast (for what I do not know) but it is basically useless unless you are standing right next to a tower or happen to have one installed in your living room. A case will not block "normal" LTE or 5G signals that most people use.

How far does the screen protector go, wondering if my Spigen liquid air will fit (P7P)

If you're asking about the IMBZBK, I can say that it fits my Gear4 Crystal Palace with only a slight gap between the edge of the screen protector and the case. I suppose that cases extending further into the screen area could be problematic.

Whitestone has some tray-included competition now, but I hate the process as a whole. Have to basically sit in a humid, dust-free environment and hope the liquid doesn't creep into your speakers or pop-up camera. Just a fraction of the things that can go wrong.

Maybe. All I can say is that the IMBZBK had no spill-over. Perhaps because the tray includes a bubble level to make sure the installation is done on a flat surface. Regarding "a humid, dust-free environment," out of an abundance of caution I always install screen protectors in a steamy bathroom (with the shower running). Always as in since at least October 2012 when I bought a Just Like Glass for my Samsung S III. (I see that I rated that protector five stars and that the Zagg screen protector for its predecessor Samsung Vibrant was installed at the shopping mall stand where I bought the protector.) At any rate, I don't find it problematic. YMMV.
