Hello guys, yesterday I sold my phone. Now im trying to factory reset my Oneplus one in the menu. But when I do that it reboots and gets in a TWRP bootloop. I already backedup my data on my new phone, so I just want to get rid of everything. When I reboot the phone nothing has changed and all my apps and data are still there. Anyone have an idea what I should do? Thanks in advance.

Simply boot into Recovery, tap Wipe and swipe to begin the process. Doing so will perform a regular Factory Reset.

The best way to ensure that the device is ready for sale is by flashing the stock images with fastboot. See section 8 of my guide:

Well the method that I suggested will ensure that the phone is back to a 100% stock state, exactly as it came out of the box.
So after a few weeks after the launch of the Marshmallow uptade, I flashed the stock image with fastboot using a Mac and everything gone flawlessly, until I saw my internal storage. My 32Gb nexus became a 16Gb model.
I search in EVERY Forum I found on the internet, and I have good skills on recovering android phones with software problems, all the "how-to's" I found were with very easy instructions, but NONE of then worked for me.
Ive tried EVERYTHING I found on the internet. Do a factory reset, tried to resize the partition using TWRP, flashed manually all the partitions, flashed the stock image again and again many times, flashed customs roms, tried to erase the userdata, cache and system partitions tons of times using flashtool on windows, mac and linux and NOTHING worked. In all the process my phone started with no problems, but my internal storage stayed 12,55gb. My Bootloader shows 32Gb model, the IMEI on LG database shows 32Gb model AND the logic board indicates a 32Gb model... I really don't know what to do! Anyone can save me???? Thanks!
In advance information, I followed every step on this guide at least 10 times, and didn't work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
I was thinking in the possibility of an custom Userdata partition, only for the 32Gb model, that I can flash manually or a program, like GParted, that I can manually resize the data partition.
I'm really desesperate here, so sorry for any english mistakes, since I speak portuguese, or any dumb idea.
Thanks for any help!
-------------------------------------- FOUND THE SOLUTION! ----------------------------------------------
After WEEKS trying to realize what the hell happened and rethinking every possible form to regain my full storage, I've found the solution.
Fiddling with the partitions on the phone, i learned that there is a partition on the system, that "informs" the userdata that the phone is a 16Gb or a 32Gb variant, and it's called "Primary GPT".
I realized that the guy who sold to me, recovered the phone from an brick it suffered, but he used a 16Gb model GTP partition to reinstall the bootloaders and the system, so, no matter how many different process I tried, I would NEVER recognizes the 32Gb, because THIS partition was telling the system that it was a 16Gb model.
(Little of a noob explain but that was the way I got it...)
So all I had to do was use this thread to reflash the correct GPT partition:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...-unbrick-nexus-5-stucked-qualcomm-hs-t3043301
And then, reflash the complete system image file, and after the boot, my phone recognized the 32Gb internal storage again!
Thank you guys for the effort in sorting out any way to help me, I hope this thread can help someone else facing the same problem in the future!
Peace!

Tried everything I could do... Flashed userdata partition, erased the partition with fastboot then entered in recovery mode (stock and custom) and then format the userdata from there, doing that by doing a factory reset and wiping cache partition and nothing...
Any other idea what it could be?
Unfortunately, I have no idea why this happened or how to fix it as I only have the 16 GB version.
seriously guys, anybody to save my day?

Have you tried factory reset and wiping cache from STOCK recovery? That always works for me.
Try using flash-all.bat in Windows. Part of the stock favor image. Make sure to take backup before doing it though
Had this happen once and had to factory reset from stock recovery like he said above. Worked like a charm!

Ive tried with stock recovery, custom recovery, CWM, TWRP Resize partition and no use...
I lost the count of times Ive tried to flash manually, flash-all.bat in windows, flash-all.sh on mac and linux, really nothing work.
There is no toolkit, even knowing its a bad idea to use those things but, since Im out of options, anyone can tell me one that can help me?
Thanks guys btw!

can you explain what is the function of this line? Tried here and everything stayed the same
Thanks!
Damn... that's weird.
Is it possible to format userdata? Like, for example, "fastboot format userdata"? I don't really know, just shooting in the dark by this point now.

I believe it's a way of restoring data or storage to it's original configuration. Also had this problem on my 32gb N5 early on, unfortunately I can't remember what I did that time to get it back.

Yes, I did this process three times I think, format userdata and erase userdata, none of then resolved the issue

I tried this code using the terminal on the phone, rebooted and the storage stayed the same, I'll try to do the same process using adb shell from my windows computer, since I have the "light"version of adb and fastboot installed on my mac and the adb shell comand is giving me the "offline" error...
I'll get back here with any updates.
thanks in advance guys! Hope this comand works! :highfive:
Well... Tried with my windows computer, and next with my Mac, with the command line given and.... Nope. Nothing changed.
I know it's not great but if your desperate....
I've always done things manually but there comes a time when your willing to try whatever to fix your phone as they don't come cheap, so if I could recommend a toolkit that has saved my ass more than once and has worked flawlessly for me every time maybe it could help you too.
http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
It's called Nexus Root Toolkit and its by the developer wugfresh. Try this if you'd like, if not I hope you find a solution. This kit has everything you can think of that could help you with rooting, or returning to stock and relocking. Best of luck with your journey!

The wrong size memory issue, 16 Gb instead of 32, is an old issue. It can be solved by booting into the stock recovery then clearing cache and then doing a factory reset. Note, this will wipe your device.

Hey ! First of all excuse my english I'll do my best.
I flashed CM13 to test it. To do that I flashed the TWRP you can find in CM's thread and just after I wiped the data because without that you're unable to wipe cache/dalvik/system. After the flash everything was right except for some reasons in my opinion this rom wasn't smooth enough so I wanted to go back to EMUI (damn EMUI never thought i could want to go back to this again).
To do that I flashed The "normal" TWRP and tryed to wipe my data. It was impossible. Si I tryed to restore my nandroid, impossible too. Some errors messages.
So I flashed the CM's TWRP and was finally able to wipe my data and restore my EMUI nandroid. After that I tryed to flash again the "normal" TWRP and take a look at the wipe options to see if I was able to wipe data or dalvik or whatever but the same errors messages came to my face.
Is there a way to fix the wipe of my TWRP without rollback to stock and root again ?
I hope I was clear, my english really sucks.
Thank you guys.

seams he's not good enough to get that so I'll explain more !
for some reason or flashing roms u' might get some errors while flashing roms or trying to wipe data ! ..
restoring ur nandroid sometimes need to be restored throw the same recovery but for some binary errors while restoring or for some reason it wont !
I recommended to do the following :
Use the full restoration method to get back into stock fresh . ( to do that all u need is : download fresh rom from official EMUI website then send it to SD card , put it into ur phone , make sure its off , press volume Up+Down+Power for 3 seconds or 4 then will start getting back ur original Software ) if u got fail might be for some reason of a kernel so u'll need to do the ADB Method will be later if fail only .
now after getting back to stock install TWRP again and make nandroid restore only for data without system and cach and delvik
u must get all ur phone back as will but the restoration should be only above same rom version and custom number .
GD Luck ..
Thank you for the "not good enough" man I'm flashing roms since 2009, I had a lot of phones and a lot of way to flash roms. My english sucks, not me.
I know how to erase the recovery but I already try to flash different recovery, it's obvious for me that my problem is here because of the encryption missing of the DATA partition who have been erase by the CM's TWRP. I try to find a way to fix the encryption without get back to stock because it's a pain in my ass and if I can do another way I'll be happy. I hate come back to stock, it's a waste of time to come back to all tweaks I made on my actual rom.
But if I have to come back to stock I'll do it.
I'm use to work with phones more open than Honor so I'm a little disapointed about all the pain devs have with this phone.
Thanks for your help anyway. Oh and yes, I can be wrong about encryption but I don't think so.
Much love.

Hello guys
I have a problem. My Bluetooth won't turn on because my folder with the Bluetooth Share apk in it got deleted.
Don't ask me how I did this... I am absolutly clueless myself. I couldn't get it back by restoring the phone.
I hope someone can help me.
Btw. my honor 8 is rooted.
nougat? if so, do soundrecorder/calendar/compass/nfc work? if not, prolly wiped data partition. bluetooth aswell as mentioned apps are tied to data/hw_init
Just reflash your stock firmware.
Sent from my Honor 8 using XDA Labs
Reflash using dload
It seems like my calendar works without a problem but my nfc/soundrecorder/compass don't work.
Reflashing usin dload doesn't seem to fix it...
Tried reflashing it with my stock firmware too no success.
yes :/
u obv wiped /data partition at some point. flashing both zips should've fixed that tho. in any case, dirty fix without wiping anything is to extract your update_data_full_hw_eu or whichever u have, move it to /data via some sort of root explorer, so the path looks like /data/hw_init, and apply proper permissions to all files and folders: rwxr-xr-x to folders, rw-r--r-- to files. this works. alternatively you could take the same files and push them to proper locations in /system, also applying same permissions.
however, dload should work
Seems like I'm to dumb to flash my device proparly.
But made a dirty fix. The bluetooth share app shows up now but I still can't turn bluetooth on. Thank you for your help up to now.
didnt really bother with it because i received OTA, but as far as i can tell, issue is not with the zips, rather security checks. those 2 data files can be merged to one no problem, a little fix to updater-script and its fine, you have 2 files to flash. still wont work due to issues with updater.app check
well there is always complete reflash via dload :/

Yeah, sure. But this is a different case. This is a major update, not to mention it's a beta. Anyway, you could try wiping your cache partition first. You can do that on recovery mode. This won't wipe your data.
If it doesn't work, I don't know any other solution to fix your device while keeping data. If you're ready to let go of your data, the easiest way to surely recover is using MSM Download Tool.
EDIT: I just remembered there's no cache partition anymore. You'll need to wipe cache AND data. I can't check the stock recovery because I'm on TWRP myself.

My wouldn't boot after updating a magisk module, I salvaged it by flashing stock boot img again, it's not the same situation but worth a shot.

As a last resort before wiping try changing the active partition from fastboot:

fastboot --set-active=b
Good luck.

your chances of keeping your data without a backup recovering from a bootloop is very slim. the simplest solution would be to wipe your data and cache from the stock recovery. If that doesn't work, you might have to go towards using the msm download tool to unbrick your oneplus 6. Here's the link to the thread with the msm download tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/op6-collection-unbrick-tools-t3914109
