Does this app exist/is this do-able? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all.
I've just picked up an S7 Edge and like it so far, however I'm struggling to find practical uses for the edge panels. One widget I'd really like to get in the edge panel is my mobile providers usage meter, however this is a 4x1 widget, so it doesn't fit in any of the widget panels that exist that I've found so far.
What I'd really like is a widget panel that can display a widget rotated by 90 degrees (so it will sit sideways as a 1x4 widget when the pan is showing) or something that can re-code an existing widget to display it rotated.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

There is a edge panel that checks data usage but shows what your phone calculates not your providers, I find it's pretty close to what my providers data count is.

There's other stuff in my providers widget I want to display as well, but in any case, I think that being able to turn a "wide" widget sideways and display it in the edge panel would be a cool thing to be able to do.

Can you post a screen shot of your providers widget?

Why should it matter what it looks like? It's 4x1 and I'd like to be able to turn it sideways

Well good luck

Because it IS irrelevant what the widget looks like, he was telling me to not use the widget at all, which isn't what I want to do.

There's the possibility he wanted to see what data it provides to see if there's something available that would provide you with the info you're seeking.
Again, it doesn't serve you well to come here asking for help only to push away the folks trying to help you.
Good luck finding what you're looking for.

Try this one:

think that was the panel Cyclops1055 was talking about. It's minimalistic but does his job!
I don't no a way to change the size of an widget.
@ all dont be so petty!

That's how it looks like

The signal meter can show Cell or Wi-Fi or Auto (WiFi when on, Cell when WiFi Off.)

Thanks for sharing, it is nice and I have just downloaded. Enjoy, guys!
I like it
Wonder what damage it will do to the battery though!
So they caused the delay for 2.1 release. Probably they put hours in making this one and thought that it will all be wasted/
Now we all testing the battery.
the japanese has always something special and they keep proving this for us

Besides the animated wallpaper I don't see any other reason to choose this over ADW. Does anyone know if it's possible to use the wallpaper without having to run this launcher? In other words, can I use the live wallpaper with ADW?
Really really nice.
I thought live wallpaper is only supported by 2.1 and not by 1.6 ?
Anyway the "one and only" big reason why I´m waiting for 2.1 is the change of stupid lock screen on 1.6. Doesn´t work sufficient enough for me. I tried some lock-apps too, but no app was "much better" than the original one. On every call I have to hope I can unlock the screen. But this one in this pack works perfekt. Thanks for sharing.
Only good point is live screen..ADW is far better..

Sent from my X10i using XDA App
well it's available only for japan... better late than never i think the apk is modded...
back to adw... i only like the lockscreen and the "live" wallpaper...
can somebody mod this to get only the lockscreen?

Yup, I got that too.
When I'm receiving a call it reverts back to the old lock screen, and when I'm done with the call I'll have to first unlock the default screen, and after that the AmbientTime one. Is there any way to force the AmbientTime lock screen to be used when receiving calls? If not, I guess I'll have to stick with ADW.
In the first post the wallpaper is very colorful but mine is simple! why?

I miss my circle battery display from the SGS

Fightspit did a great battery indicator mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778
It's been ported over to many Android phones, including the Galaxy S series.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756627
It's a great looking and handy mod, that obviates the need for a third-party app to get an accurate reading on your charge at a glance.
Nobody with the skills has bothered with the Tab yet. Which makes me sad.

That's nice, but the one I miss is the one that replaces the stock battery icon.
Call me weird, but I hate having anything but transient notices on the left side of the status bar, or anything but transient notices showing when I pull down the notification shade.

design choice?
Wouldn't it make more sense to show the entire album artwork rather than leaving half the screen blank? Or am I the only one who feels that way?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I agree. I think it looks really ugly. There is room, so why not show the full album art.

+1. Feel the same way. If not the fullscreen album artwork (or whatever shenanigans they could do) we deserve the rest of the space being wallpaper or something other than a black empty screen.
Ahah, I agree with you, looks kind of weird. o:
I have gotten use to it now. It doesn't look that bad I suppose. I still wish they used the screen better. I think they made it like this to match the calling menu. It looks very similar to the screen I get when somebody calls me. So maybe it's to make the UI more constant?
i think this is an example of effective use of whitespace to separate the unlock section from the player controls.
This allows the user to have more functionality in one screen without compromise the content. So you get your album artwork + player controls + your 2 or 4 way unlock menu in an uncluttered layout.
Good design choice IMO
Excellent choice of music, by the way.
poweramp has a really good music lockscreen with not just the normal play/pause and forward/backward controls, but also with star ratings and shuffle/repeat controls i think
Perhaps its so that it also displays correctly when using pattern lock?
wow that's actually pretty clever O.O

Now that is the first good answer to this question. That must be it.
Still, I would think they would employ a better solution that this. Either allow the album artwork to take up space based on the unlock screen you are using, or have an entirely different lockscreen like other music players.

As much as I'm a Google fanboy, I'll admit that they do have a tendancy to half ass things. There could be a good reason or the engineer could have been simply distracted by a humorous T-shirt.

I just wanted to say I love this app. Not only is the widget I have beautiful, the actual app itself gives so much information, that on other apps you would have to go rooting for. It's presented all on the same page. So easy to see. And presented in a way that looks really good!
Is it me or will the widget just not appear on the lockscreen?
Installed - looks great. Don't know why I settled for the stock weather app when this was available.
I've got it, I liked it as promising so purchased it to encourage the developer. Would like to see notification dropdown WITHOUT requiring an icon in the status bar or a gap/space where a transparent icon is there. Arcus weather have done that and it works well. (my status bar is cluttered enough and its handy to just pull down notification for a quick look)
Keeps telling me to check my connection
I'll add as well it would be nice on the screen where you have saved locations, if by dragging on one side of the screen or long press you can change the order of saved locations.
The current location indicator you have in the selection screen (gps icon) should also be on the main screen so you can tell its current location rather than anything else.
Perhaps if set, have the current location always the leftmost/first item on selection & main views.

I wish to pay for this, as it works great. Yet I am unable to, says not available for purchase.
