How can I get new update after rooting my phone ? i've got 33.2.A.3.81 on F3111, and in phone info is said that i've got latest.
For rooting xperia xa you first need to unlock boot loader so you can download updates but you cant install them with pcc or ota.you can flash updated rom that is rooted or that can be rooted, and use rom manager to flash that befor doing it make sure you use the right rom, otherwise you brick your Android device.
Any way see tihis site

Hi, you can use Flashtool to update your device after root and use the included Xperifirm to download the firmware.
How to relock bootloader on Xperia XA (F3111) so that I can receive OTA updates ?
I tried this code the other day and it executed just fine but then my phone was bricked :S
Code:
adb shell dd if=/data/local/tmp/TAbackup.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1

Hi I'm new here.
My phone:
Xperia l starry black,
Model no - c2104
Build - 15.0.a.2.17 (India generic)
My question:
I'm new to the android os, only got my first android device 3 weeks before. I recently tried to root my phone. backed up my ta, partially rooted it , unlocked bootloader...and this is where I messed up. I'm unaware of the fact that you need to flash the stock Rom after bootloader unlock process or the device will get stuck at loading screen (coloured waves). So, when I came to know about it, I downloaded and accidentally flashed newest Rom a.2.17
for which there were no prerooted kernel available therefore no full root. Now my questions
1. Is there any full root method available for the latest firmware?
2. If not full root, is there any partial root method available ? keep in mind that my device bootloader was unlocked and most of the tutorials describes about partial root (with which you can't edit system files) based on locked bootloader..
3. If not above two, can I reflash the stock a.1.31 (older firmware) for which prerooted kernel was available by rachit..
I like going with 1 or 3 solutions (if they were answered)
so guys please help me..all I wanted is a full rooted phone..
Only way I've found that works for full root on .17
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44647265&postcount=19
download both files and follow the instructions and you'll have full root.

yes its for locked bootloader but perfectly working for me.:good:
And i hv full root access. Simple and Working Root procedure for locked bootloader.
Just use unlock root pro in your PC ... surely this should work...
Sent from my Xperia U using xda app-developers app
Just use motochooper to root. Simple as that
Sent from my C2105 using xda premium
ok im finally full rooted now ,,
what i did for the full root :
1 backed up ta
2 partially rooted with motochopper
3 unlocked the bootloader
4 flashed the new 2.17 rom (cuz stuck at the loading screen after bootloader unlock)
5 now the bootloader is unlocked. again used the motochopper, this time by doing so it will full root the phone..(i didnt use rebootpatch or anything cuz i can uninstall and edit system files n anythin and my device wont reboot at all)
Hello Guys.. since I'm a nexus 4 user before...not familiar with this new phone want to ask if using Giefroot and successfully root my phone Can I still do a system update specially when lollipop comes..without any issues? my rooting purpose: just want to install root apps like titanium back up to uninstall bloatwares, greenify without xposed installer...
You will be notified by update center when Lollipop update is available even if your device is rooted or not, but not sure about if you will be able to install the system update or not.
I had seen some rooted devices could download the OTA but failed to install the update.
But there's nothing to worry since you can always flash the ftf file via flashtool, without wiping any of your data..

Yes, someone will make and upload an FTF.
In an extreme circumstance it may need Flashtool to be updated, but Androxyde will do that and push another version.
In the meantime, you can always relock your bootloader and use PCComapnion to update officially, then unlock the boot again
You can also use Xperiafirm to dowload the ftf files.

Doesn't the root process require downgrading though? So it'd make updating through PCCompanion redundant.

Not really, if you have an unlocked bootloader you can relock, upgrade, unlock, flash an insecure kernel**, flash SuperSU and you are done. no need to downgrade, that's a locked bootloader method.
**Someone will upload an advanced stock kernel within minutes of it hitting our devices, its not much of a tweak to make it insecure
(Just changing a 1 to a 0 in the right place)
Hell, they may even throw in recovery in a couple of minutes as well....
Yes but I was replying in the context of the OP who said 'using giefroot' so I assume it's the locked bootloader method he is asking about.
Hello! I have an Xperia M2 and I want to root it. As far as my phone is branded and the bootloader is locked, I can't downgrade to JB (4.3) because I can't find the FTF for Orange RO. I tried all the methods listed on how to root locked bootloader but without succes. Can someone guide me somehow? Android without root is useless for me, thanks in advance!

Not sure how it works with branded phones, but I would try this nonetheless:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/help/qa-rooting-locked-bootloader-ota-method-t2999665
use the attached kernel (it's for M2). If it gets flashed you are all setup. Just be sure to have downloaded and updated first your phone to its latest FTF. From the downloaded FTF you can flash back its original kernel after the rooting.
Thanks for reply!

So does that mean that you could flash JB kernel? In that case your phone can be rooted with that method. Just make it sure you follow the guide step by step. If rootkitXperia/adb isn't working make it sure that adb debug is enabled in the phone and that you didn't wipe the data while flashing the kernel.
Now I don't remember well, but I think that other people had issues with rootkitXperia. So they used another rootkit. Don't ask me which one. You'll have better chance to get help asking it in the thread.

I install custumisation and app not workimg it not open
Inturnet off anyivirus nothing open
Had i to compile the kernel or anything else? or is there anything complete to download and flash? It confuse me
actually i download the ftf for stock rom and hope to flash it by flashtool. Actually i only want an functional device.
On emma i didn´t login. I copy the customization.ini to the emma folder.
Furthermore it seems emma is an java application and you need an java runtime.

If you have ub, open flashtool and flash nougat ftf excluding system.
Relock the bootloader.
Once its done, open sony app and repair the device.
Unlock the bl to get back the camera.

Not with an unlocked bootloader. You need to relock it and be on a firmware from a region that has the OTA released.
