What is org.codeaurora.btmultisim? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I am using an app called My Data Manager to try and track down something using crazy amounts of data on my device. It has shown org.codeaurora.btmultisim use over 1gb of data (wifi and LTE combined) over the last 24 hours.
This is 85% of my usage and is the only thing on the app that I have no idea what it might be. Does anyone have any tips on what it is or what might be using it?
Thanks!

In not sure what it is but been checking it out might be Best to uninstall as this is what i have found on
https://skyeye.trustlook.com/mobile-app-threat-report/md5-3EEA61FA423DC529EB01C616BDA37A4C/

I don't have any option to remove or disable. Only FORCE STOP. It's not using any storage and barely any memory -- but I feel like something is controlling it or using it to transfer data.

Package disabler Pro from the play store will be able to disable it

I disabled it, rebooted and it's still showing up and using data at a crazy rate.

Same here. Anyone get to the bottom of this?

i do not have wifi calling enabled. but when i look at battery use, it says that it used 15% of battery. there is no symbol of wifi calling in notification or status area either. when i open wifi calling app, it also shows off. any idea?

Have you tried force closing it from the applications menu? I know the app is connected to wifi, so whenever the app is enabled. So force closing the app should officially close it.
try this, enable wifi calling, then disable it. see if that helps.

for whatever reason, wifi calling keeps using battery. i have wiped battery stats just to make sure it is not reading from any old history. i have it disabled and it does not also show running under applicatoin->running services. any hints? i don't want to uninstall it, because i may like to use it when i travel overseas or in weak reception area.

You can freeze it with titanium backup and then unfreeze when you need it. Should work out for your situation.

thanks, i will go ahead and shell out few bucks for pro version to do that.
Its totally worth it. And when you restore your apps after a reset, they will automatically install without having to confirm every single app. That was super annoying for me.

Newbie and I swear I'm hacked

I have had this phone fur a year and I know I'm hacked. Apps open by themselves and I always have high data usage. I took a few screen shots that I thought might be helpful? Haha please help!!!!
I highly doubt you're hacked. I see you have the Facebook app installed; that's known to drain your battery. Have you gone into its settings to make sure it's not set to auto-refresh at high intervals? I think the default is every 15 minutes. What about Google+? Is it set to automatically upload your photos and videos? And finally, I see you're on Sprint, which has LTE almost nowhere. Is your LTE set to on?
Bro.. why not try a full wipe 'coz if your phone is infected your privacy is exposed lol
Facebook app is installed yet auto sync is disabled. I keep having apps download on their own yet I disabled auto update. Not to mention my location services are jacked up

Are you using Google Now? That's known to destroy battery life by at least 30% (its been tested). Turn that off. It keeps your location services running 24/7.
Worst case, I'm not sure if your device is rooted or not (it doesn't matter), but try and wipe it and "start over" if you can. Make sure your contacts are synced with Google, and if your photos are on your internal storage, move them to your computer or your SD card. Then go into Settings -> Security -> Factory Reset.
Can u explain these?

It looks like logcat is logging signal strenght of your 3g, and your mail app is checking for new mails.
It might be your voicemail app... Unless you changed the icon that isn't stock TW. But yeah definitely just do a factory reset or Odin back to stock...

[Q] Nexus 5 Mobile Data When on Wifi

Hi all,
I am having an issue with my Nexus 5 using huge amounts of my mobile data (T-Mobile) when connected to wifi even when I'm not using it. What's crazy is that this keeps happening almost exclusively between 2-6am when I'm not awake. It also happens to an even further extent when I'm connected to wifi at work and not using my phone either. Heres a breakdown:
11/12 5:48 AM - 27.57 MB
11/13 3:33 AM - 12.42 MB
11/14 5:15 AM - 14.21 MB
11/12 2:53 PM - 49.57 MB
11/13 2:39 PM - 27.97 MB
I called T-Mobile and they said that it shows that I definitely used my data during those times. I have almost nothing running in the background that uses any data and have turned off my GPS to see if that will help.
Anyone else having the same problems or have any advice?
Thanks,
Chris
Only thing that comes to mind is that your wifi connection is being dropped for some reason, and your phone switches to mobile data instead.
About why data is being used at that time, it is very likely that there are some apps that are using background data - you may have disabled this for a bunch of apps, but may have missed some.
Check data usage under settings to see if you can identify the culprit (you can use the sliders to narrow down - though it doesn't seem to let you narrow down to a specific timeframe)

I may be mistaken, but I don't think you can do that on stock ROM at least. If WiFi is available, it will always try to use WiFi
For whatever reason, if you want to use Mobile data, you will need to turn WiFi off.
If you always want to use mobile data for a given app or want to use mobile data in a specific time range, you could use tasker app to set up a profile to disable WiFi when that app is launched (or in that time range)

Thanks. I did check last night to see what apps were using the most data and it was by far feedly but I'm not sure why that would be using data when I'm not awake. Does anyone else have that problem with feedly? Isn't it also strange that it keeps happening at roughly the same times every day?
Also wanted to add that I came from a Galaxy S2 running Cyanogen and never had this issue.

I just checked my gf's Galaxy Young...in there when you go to WIFI and access Advanced and there you can set Wifi Sleep policy.
The options I got are "When screen turns off", "Never when plugged in" and "Never"...not really the options I'd imagine for this =)

Did you check settings on your feedly? It sounds like it does a daily sync which some RSS readers I'd imagine would do.
I don't have feedly on my phone, but if it has some decent settings it should have one to sync only via wifi or similar.

Yea I checked the feedly settings section and there isn't anything related to sync. The app actually only refreshes when it's opened. For now I went into the "data usage" section on my phone and selected "Restrict background data" for the app. Hopefully that works.

It actually gets even crazier. Last night before I went to bed I turned off my mobile data by going to setting>data usage and it still shows at 5:19 AM that I used 43 MB of data. I mean the only explanation I could think of is I'm sleep walking and using my phone lol. I called T-Mobile and it definitely shows on their end I did use the data at that time. They also couldn't help me because they don't have the phone yet. Can't believe that no one else is having this problem. Guess I have to contact Google which should be really useful smh.

Weird Problem

I have this weird error. My Google now gives me a "Couldn't sign in" error whenever I leave home and am on mobile data. I don't get push notifications or anything else.My Google Maps also cannot find my location. It shows just my home location on the map. As soon as I come home, and connect to WiFi, Google now works flawlessly again and I get all my push notifications, say from SnapChat or twitter etc. I tried wiping data for Play Services and all related apps. Cleared Cache, even re flashed Lollipop(without wiping data) but nothing seems to work. Please help!
Looks like your phone doesn't get aby data signal. Check again if you have enabled mobile data (happened to me already ).
If it is turned on and your phone is connected to a mobile network then I don't know

That is what ive been avoiding to do. I have over 250 apps. And over 20GB data on my phone. So backing up and re installing again is a pain. Any other option? I'm keeping clean install as a last resort.

Android OS Data Usage

Hello, so over the past month I've noticed a huge spike in data usage and it's from Android OS. I've used 1.08 gigs in about 3 weeks. Anyone else having similar issues? No new apps installed. Running the latest version. Hope someone can shed some light on this for me!
Thanks.

Go into settings and then Data and tap more in the upper right hand corner and restrict the background data on apps that you don't use.. I pretty much have everything restricted because when I open it the data will work fine in the foreground just not in the background after it's closed. Saves me a lot of data!

No don't restrict all of it or you won't get the notifications just do as many as you can that you don't use so it stops using data when you aren't using them.

Yes they do... What model phone do you have? Verizon? Because when I updated to MM 6.0 it was draining the battery in less than 2 hours of screen on time and killing my data and I wasn't about to accept that so I downgraded back to Lollipop! I get a good 8 to 12 hours of screen on time now. I do think the only way to fix the battery problem when updating is to factory reset the device first so there's absolutely nothing on it and then update to MM 6.0..

Verizon Note 5. And my battery isn't the issue. Data is. And why would Android OS be listed separately if all the other apps are also listed separately, showing their own data usage?

They're listed separately so you can see which one is using the most data, that way you'll know which one it is.. The other thing is, you need an OS in order for anything to run obviously which is why I said they all run on the OS. But like I said they're separated for a reason.

Personally I don't know what your phone is doing since I can't see it but just because they're displayed in a way that you can see them all doesn't mean they're using twice the data.

Did you do anything at all before this started to do that? If not, maybe you should try factory resetting the phone because I know data isn't cheap anymore!
By the way, there's also network monitoring tools on the play store that you can try out so you can pin it down to which process is using it all up.
I did nothing new / different. Factory resetting is annoying. What's the best app to pinpoint which process it is?

So, still no update. Those apps don't measure specific apps or anything. But it's pushing 2gb a month of data.
I'm also looking for answers.
Android OS used 1GB data in one day in the backgroud (uploading). So it's not updates.
I'm not using Cloud or any other backup service.
