S6 920F Root on Nougat? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Having a bunch of issues after upgrading...
Is there a tutorial for root on Nougat? Was on MM with SpaceX Kernel and SuperSU 2.71 via TWRP.
What to do to get Nougat rooted?
thanks

ROOT on 4.4.2

I take no credit for the following:
I successfully root with towelroot @ http://towelroot.com/.
The site looked sketch but I did some research and the guy is from XDA and designed it for the s5's. But I took the chance and it works!!! Screen shoot attached.
(I know the screen shot doesn't provide 100% proof, but its the best I can do at the moment)
Good luck
This root Method doenst seem to work if your kernely is < June 2 2014. Look in the kernel build in your device settings and if its before June, then I dont think the root method will work for you.
I got a n9005 bought in italy.
Would this work?

Just rooted my SM-N9005 (kernel version: 3.4.0-1168347) successfully using TowelRoot.
KNOX-status: 0x0 and device-status: official.
Just rooted my Note 3 is 4.4.2 with stock ND3 firmware using towelroot by @geohot. And it didn't trip KNOX.

Very excited to hear this... Will wait a little longer for proof it works as am running N9005DXUENE4
When it comes to rooting, does the ROM capacity of the phone matter?
Most Note3 are 32GB, unfortunately, mine is the dreaded 16GB Hong Kong version, so I wanna know whether it would work or will the root exploit need to be rewritten to be compatible with the 16GB version.
Can anyone confirm device encryption can be used after root ?
just tried on a n900w8.... didn't work
wow its work
really work thanks
Did not work on my N9005 (ENB1).
Am i doing this right? After 'making it ra1n' and reboot, do i have to flash SuperSU or does towelroot fix su for me? Root Checker says i am not rooted.
Same at me. No root.

Install app, make it ra1n, it will reboot in 15 seconds, install root checker. And thats it, no need for SuperSu app.
Works well
I have root
On the latest firmware of the netherlands
Knox didnt trip
Nd3 firmware
It works on my n9005, no brand Italy, latest firmware.
Knox counter 0x0
Thanks!

Admitly im an idiot who was in to much of a hurry to get root.
IT worked on my 9005 international.
Download apk , install , reboots in 15 and ... youre rooted without tripping knox.
If apk is clean then i'll probably donate .
Sincerely impressed.

It looks like people with kernel version: 3.4.0-1168347 had successfully rooted there N9005.

[ROOT]Root Note 3 Neo Sm N750 Indain & N7505 European [Knox 0×0]

I successfully rooted indian note 3 neo N750 without tripping knox to 1 and other guy name Himming he also rooted his phone N7505 European without tripping knox to 0
Steps
1 . Just download kingroot From the link below and install it
2 . disable Ur lock screen to none......
3 . then open king root and touch start
It will take two min to root
Note . Your internet should be on
Try at your own risk
busy box will change the system from official to custom.
If you want to have knox on 0x0 don't flash any recovery.
Installing any custom recovery will change knox to 0x1. So don't try installing any recovery

But it works - might try to install an app to make sure kingroot won't be able to access the internet...

both LP and MM can be rooted, but only with your PC (via ADB etc.)
On KitKat it is sometimes possible to root it with the Kingroot app, at least for me it worked.
I'm going to wait for MM until I root again (I did the LP update some days ago)

I never really looked into it since I updated my phone to Lollipop.
When I update to Marshmallow I will try to root it again but I'm fine for now.

how to update to marsallow rooted

As i said above i have a samsung galaxy j700 f amd it is rooted have trwp as recovery.
I want to know how to update it via smart switch and if twrp will be replace during the process..
Thanks
Smart switch is painful. You'll need an internet connection. Aaand lots of time. Why not download the rom and use Odin.
You lose trwp and root either way.
Check on www.updato.com for a fast download. You can even use a download accelerator ?

Hi zikofurito
I'll assume you've already installed the Samsung USB drivers and have already installed Odin.
Download the MM ROM from www.updato.com J700F MM ROMS
Download TWRP from here Latest J7 (2015) TWRP
And SuperSU SuperSu 2.78
Make a backup first!
Then you can follow the steps in this thread to flash galaxy-j7_tutorial-how-to-install-twrp-recovery
Good Luck!

Hi @dodo2244
I bought a J700f in Iran but it has been fabricated for other region ( I thhink Taiwan ) . I updated the Rom to Iran region Rom (THR) now It getting hot even in Shut down mode (Power off) . I guess may be the IRAN region Rom is not Suitable for this Phone I want to return to original rom but I want to be sure of the correct one . So my Question is How to determine the original region of my cellphone?
I don't know how to do that.
Hmm .... why didn't you try a Thailand THL MM ROM?

Tnx for reply. I found that my phone region have been Taiwan (not thailand). Do you think flashing thailand MM rom will not damage it as now I have overheating problem with Iran LP rom, although I'm not sure the problem is Rom related.
Then flash flash a Taiwan MM Rom before you give up.
