Google Pixel FRP Locked (24/72 Hour Lockout) - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I have a question about Googles FRP lock.
So yesterday I sold my phone to someone on craigslist and had let him test it out before buying it. I was on the android beta program and he wanted to un-enroll from it so he would be on the latest stable OS.
The next are a series of steps we did to go back to the latest stable OS:
1) Factory reset the phone (my google password was changed 2 weeks ago)
2) Buyer created a temporary gmail to enroll and un-enroll the device from beta
3) Received the system update (latest stable version)
4) Waited for it to finish install
5) Once the phone was booted back up, he forgot the username he had made
6) I try my previous e-mail and get to the two step verification and I get a popup that says please wait 24 hours because of a password change (I read online something about a 72 hour lockout after a password change)
7) Right now I am stuck with a brick device
So my question is, after this 24 or 72 hours lock out time, can I sign back in with my original gmail? Or would the FRP lock me out because the last account that was synced to the device was the account that he created temporary and forgot the username to? Or can I sign in with any Google account that has been previously synced to the device?
Side Notes:
- When I tried signing back on with my account (after I received the popup saying try again in 24 hours) I received an email from Google right away asking me to review the sign in.
- When I check my Google devices, it does show that I have 2 Google Pixel devices on there, the 1st one was before the factory reset, and the 2nd is when I tried to sign in again after the reset (these 2 Pixel devices are the same)
Thank you everyone!

Sold phone on Swappa. Buyer getting the device was wiped at setup.

So I sold my phone (Galaxy S6) on Swappa, first time ever. The buyer received the phone went to set it up and the an error reading "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device." He recommended doing a video call where I would give him the password so he could get in and remove my account. And I would be able to watch him so I know he isn't stealing my information. I changed my password before giving him it because it is similar to other passwords I use for other logins. When we went to do the call it keeps looping back to that same screen with an error message. I know it recognizing my email because I see my picture pop up when it asked for a password. In my research I just came across articles like this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/07/13/dont-change-your-google-password-before-factory-resetting-your-android-phone-you-might-trip-a-72-hour-security-lockout/
I just want to know if I am permantly locked out because I changed my password after I reset, or if we can try again in 72 hours? I can't find anything more clear about changing the password after the factory reset, everything talks about before.

sorry, i cant help with your question, but in the future, remove your account from the phone before factory reset and you wont have this problem.
any phone running lollipop and forward will have this new security on it, and if your phone never had software older than lollipop on it, there is no way to bypass the security check.

Changed Google Account password on PC while flashing ROM, Phone locked for 3+ days :/

Hi,
Was just trying to update some tool and my Asus ZX551ML device went into bootloop.. So I just tried to flash the ROM again (taking backup of data on PC).
While ROM was flashing via ADB sideload..
While ROM was flashing I also changed my google password as it was unchanged for a very long period.
Once the flashing thing was done, when I tried to login to my Google account, was continously getting message, Please sign in using one of the owner's account for this device.. IT wont even allow me to sign in using another account.
Researched enough that I have to wait for specific number of hours before that FRP - Factory Reset Protection thing is released..
least 24
max 72
kindly confirm what is latest wait time.
Also if there is any other way to sign in ?
Since its my account, I have the SIM card, all recovery emails, all the purchase history, including CC numbers etc. with me.
Or
There is no option and to wait..
1. This is really no security, but a waste totally.. (inspite of having access to all details, I still cannot sign-in or contact google in anyway..)
2. Whats the overall use of security for a thief, if the bypass shall be gone/take away after 3 days.. as read.
3. Since I got this phone, I have only used 1 google account on this device (like majority of people do), how am i supposed to login to other owner account.. on a new bought phone.. OR
should I contact Asus in this case.
Thanks.
Just an update, the FRP has been removed after 24 hours. (It was been reduced to 24 hours now, earlier it was 72 hours)
Able to login with the old account properly now.
Hopefully, this information might help someone in future..

Unlock/Flash Stock S7 with FRP Lock/OEM lock

Hi guys,
I received the smartphone from my father and he unfortunately locked out himself (forgot pass)
I tried to do a factory reset and it failed as it requires login from the old google account which he set up years ago and does not remember anymore.
I tried to connect to ODIN but quickly realized that USB debug and this special anti Unlock Setup (OEM unlock) in settings was not activated.
Is there any chance at all to reset this phone?
When I stick the phone to any PC device it says could not detect usb device properly. Its because the phone is "locked" I guess.
However going to download mode did not solve the problem either. ODIN just cant get any signal.
I tried on multiple win10 devices, installed KIES, did it only with samsung drivers but the phone does not get properly recognized as it should.
Help :/
S7 is 1.5 years old, he obviously knew the Google account login when he got the phone, which at max would be 1.5 years ago, recovery emails are used to create Google accounts, reset the Google account password from the web and sort it that way

That was a simple google account which he made and my father is having memory issues since he is over 60.
Its odd that you seem to know more about my issue right now with the phone. Induction is dangerous.
I even do not know at which MONTH or year I created my google account. I can just roughly guess more than 4 years old for sure but thats a stupid question Google is asking either.
So even with doing an induction here, we would fail ourselves.
PS: You wanna see the receipt? I smell great doubt in you!
similar problem
