Samsung Gear and Corporate Email Question - Samsung Gear S3

Ok to get rid of the PIN issue I did a factory reset on my Gear S3 which solved that problem. But now, even though in the Email application within the Samsung Gear App I have the corporate email account turned off, my Gear has prompted my a couple of times that to get corporate email I have to set a PIN because of our AD policy... is there a way to "turn this off" / remove the corporate email account from the email application so I don't get prompted to set a PIN or am I just going to have to live with this and just ignore the prompt when it comes up?

The problem is your phone , if you remove the corparate account from there then no pin issues. I use corporate email and only when i pickup the watch from the charger it asks for a pin

I was afraid that was going to be the answer.. so since I need to have the email on my phone I will just have to live with the PIN prompt.. thanks...

Try a different email app on your phone. I use Nine, and it works great for my work's Exchange email. It doesn't have the same security issues as other email programs., like the built in Samsung/android on. I never have issues with my watch and PIN prompts, and I do get notifications and emails from Nine on the watch.

I second highlordkram's recommendation on using Nine for corporate email. I have used it for over a year and find it to be an excellent program to manage email. It plays very well with the S3, easy to read, mark read, delete emails from the watch, no PIN prompt.

I 3rd Nine. Excellent replacement for corporate email.

For all those suggesting another application my question to you would be does your current Active Directory policies requires your phone to have a PIN to lock the phone if you get your corporate email to it? that is what caused my Gear S3 to need a pin...

[Resolved] Block mail settings - if I lose my phone

I just wonder if there is a way of blocking/preventing other people with different sim-cards to access my mail that I configured on my phone?
Example:
I configure my mail on my phone with all settings like username and password. Then I accidently lose my mobile and someone finds it. But this guy who finds it want to use it for bad things. He can't get my PIN password so he puts his SIM-card into my mobile. Therefore he can access my mobile and go into my mail that's already been set up. So now he can read everything in my mail and even send mails from the phone.
How do I prevent this?

Change the password on your e-mail account if you know that your phone is lost. He cannot see it or change it from the device, so once you change it, he will not be able to access it anymore. Also, you can set a personal password lock, which is independent from the SIM card. Finally, there are a couple of apps that can do certain things if your device is lost/stolen. They are in the D&H section.
Thanks But I tried to whatch my received mails with my sisters SIM-card, and it worked :S so if I lose my phone... the person can read the mails that I've received... and that's not good. Do you have any solution?
Btw, I'll check the D&H section!

Mostly everything you can use will depend on whether the device is connected to the internet, which might not be the case depending on the knowledge of the thief. You could probably add an app for tracking in case the phone is lost or stolen though (if your device is GPS capable, that is).
One more thing..
When I want to receive my latest mails - like the one I've received within three days ago. I go to my inbox and select receive/send. But what it does is that it recieves every single mail I got in my "real" inbox. And that's not what I want. I want it to just dwnld the newest messages. Because if this works... I can manually delete my messages in my mobile Inbox, so it doesn't store the mails to long. Because if I lose my phone, the theif will only have accsess to around 5mails

I think that there is either a setting or an app to automatically purge the saved e-mail if they are in the device for +3 days or so. I will look into it.
Thanks, but do you know what's the problem is with that I get all my messages from my inbox when I press "receive/send" in my mobile inbox? Because I've set the setting to just get the mails from 3days..
just a thought, to prevent that you could just put a password on your phone? So the person who takes it cant access your phone let alone the mail etc.

Had already suggested that, but the OP seems to have different concerns.
Okay, but how do I enable such a password?
AND I also wonder this:

just wanted to see if someone know the answers
I am not sure whether I really understand you but as suggested previously why don’t you use “Auto lock” with a password.(settings--->Lock..)
You can set after how many minutes or hours the device will be locked. After that time run up you need to input your password in order to able to use or see anything on your device

Hmm, it's more like an app that does the following:
Locks the phone (require a password) when turning on the phone. In that way, it doesn't matter if you have an extra SIM-card, because you can't access the phone. And then it's just a hard-reset that will restore the phone, but then my problem is solved - all my private files etc is gone with the wind
exactly! Even better if you use Microsoft exchange server mail then you don’t need to wait until the guy make hard reset you just simply remotely wipe your device
Use the lock function so go to start/settings and look for lock. Choose either 4 digit or more complex and set lock time as you wish. - i dont really knwo what more you would want because even if u switched sim, you would still have to crack the lock code.
Haha, so it was that simple ^^
Sometimes easy settings seems to be complicated but thanks for your replies
But the question about my email still remain :/
When I press "send/receive" my phone downloads every single mail. But when I go to Inbox-Tools-Options-My Account-Edit Account Setup I've already set the "download message" to from the past 3 days. What's the problem?

No probs, easiest solutions are always the best ones
mm not sure why that is doin that, setting the period should only download the relevant days...... what email provider u using? pop3? gmail? all work fine with me and i use exchange too.
If you cant sus it out, i would delete your email account, soft resest and set it up again.

mm that is strange, with those setting you should not be getting older mail?
Might sound odd, but have you tried a different setting, so like 1 week, or 1 day mail, save it and soft reset?
If not i will have a dig around.
somehow it seems to work now :S so I just hope it remains like that

Strange problem setting up SMTP mail account on 2 phones

Hi guys I have a really strange problem setting up a SMTP mail account on my wifes phone.. It is a bit difficult to explain because I'm dutch and my phone language is dutch too of course..
My wife and I both have a Galaxy s2. I tried to set up our mail account from home (versatel) on our phones. With the Premium account (POP/IMAP) setting both phones worked oke with the mail account. But then when deleting a message form the phone, the message gets deleted from the server too and we dont want that.
So I went to my phone and set up the mail account via manual settings (in stead of premium and just click next). I left the incoming settings alone. (pop.versatel.nl, no verification, port 110) And changed the outgoing setting so the correspondent with the settings on our PC. (smtp.versatel.nl, no verification, port 25)
Now comes the strange thing! This works on my phone. On my wifes phone however it keeps saying our server doesnt support verification. As said I already have this checked of tough.... I already tried deleting the account en resetting. Didnt work. Also tried check verification on and off again. Also didnt work. Any suggestions?
yes, use google mail, then you will not see any of the above problems
as for the verification bug on the 2nd phone, it's probably a software bug, see if you can upgrade or change the mail software on the 2nd phone

Nexus 5 Exchange Problems?

So I saw that my battery was drained by around 30% in two hours and I checked the battery and the email exchange was eating most of the batteries. I went to settings and clicked corporate and saw that one of my email accounts kept syncing and wouldn't stop. Does anyone know how to stop it? Other than deleting my account. I'd like to have it on push to receive emails.

No, it was push, automatic.
This is the email for my university so the only way to add it is by using exchange
I have two other accounts with hotmail and their isn't any issue with those.
I'm wondering if it is just an issue with the exchange?
When you go into settings > corporate, you usually see "Last synced date time" but with my exchange account, it keeps flashing back and forth between "last synced date (current time)" and syncing. It keeps doing this unless I change push(automatic) into something else, or remove the account/don't sync the email from it
Your not the only one having problems like this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512237
I'm able to connect and send/receive email, but it won't push the read status from the phone back to the server.
I have this exact same problem and I cannot figure it out. I've removed all my exchange e-mails with this e-mail client and it has helped
For what it's worth i'm using the exchange email APK that does not require a PIN and I have absolutely no extra battery drain from my Exchange account and i've been using it since I got my Nexus 5.
It is set to push as well...
Do you have a link to down load it? Are you referring to the exchange apk or just the email apk? Is it still email 6.0?
Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Exchange emails plain out don't work on my GS4

So I'm always presented with 'No Emails' on the email app on the Gear 2. I verified the settings on the Gear 2 manager, and my desired email is checked. Why am I not able to see any emails at all?
I'm running a rooted stock firmware of the GS4, if that helps at all.
I assume that you are using the stock email app? If so, note that Exchange is rather limited with notifications (such was my case) and someone suggested CloudMagic-- which is AWESOME--- and I am able to actually view my emails, whereas before, I was only able to see the sender and not much more on the Gear 2.
If you are running stock email and are not interested in CloudMagic, verify that the following is checked...
- Settings> Security> Notification Access> Make sure that "Gear Manager" is checked (which should be if you are getting notifications of any sort on the Gear 2).
- Gear Manager> Notifications> Notifications for Gear> Ensure that "Email" is checked.
I feel like there's one more selection (possibly) within the Email app itself, however I cannot remember straight away.

have you tried on new firmware? I've only had the G2 Neo for 2 days, but I had a firmware install on day 1 and email has always worked fine... no photo/multimedia, but I read my exchange mail as they come in.
I figured out the issue (sorry for the delay in posting)
It does work, however I was under the impression that it'd show you all the emails you have, not just new incoming emails.
Cloud Magic and Gear2

How did you get it to work. I have CloudMagic and it gives a runinng list of email titles only. No content and it is in a continuous string that does not delineate between messages. Any assist here would be great. This is only an issue for my exchange account. All other email works fine.

Can't reactivate using the same Samsung account email

Several months ago, using my iPhone and Samsung account, I set reactivation lock on my Gear S3 watch for security purposes. Last month I switched to Galaxy S8 and I successfully paired my watch with my phone using the same email.
After a while, I had to change the country of Samsung account to receive notification emails in English but I couldn't do it using the website, therefore, I had to completely delete the account from Samsung portal and re-register it using the same email.
After this action, Samsung prompted login error on my Samsung S8 device which by a signing out the account and signing back using the same email and password, it solved the issue.
Now here is the problem. Yesterday after a factory reset of my Galaxy S8, I tried to pair my watch with my phone again but during the reactivation process, the watch didn't accept my Samsung account. I came to this conclusion that the activation lock somehow registered a key on my old account and by deleting the account I deleted that too. Samsung account should have informed me before deleting the account that I have an activation lock on my account and I can't remove the account until I unpair the device with my account. I have already contacted Samsung support and they gave me a non-relevant answer.
How do you think I should solve this issue which is caused by an error from Samsung?
Me too have the same issue... How did you solve this???
Remember : DO NOT DELETE A SAMSUNG ACCOUNT, not reversible. You lost your activation lock AND all your bought apps for this account
Samsung not responsible if you lock a watch and delete the lock account and not know if you lock or not a watch.
