My honor8 is dead. Now I have a brick. - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

My honor8/European version (FRD-L09) is dead. Now I have a brick.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Hello everybody, i'm having serious trouble. I was trying to rollback to Marshmallow (Nougat - > Marshmallow) using this guide: " https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70863098&postcount=6 "
When the phone restarted. It was frozen in the initial presentation. And it does not progress. It does not turn off. Only when the battery is finished. Pressing the 3 buttons (+/- on / off) does not start the recovery menu.
This is my situation now. Is it possible to revive him? :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Thank you.

It just bootloop,
1st... Did you used rollback packages for your devices
2nd..Did you replaced update.app in dload folder with your region firmware.

3rd. did you use an sd card for the rollback as you should?

My honor 8 (FRD-L09C432)
I created a dload folder inside the sdcard, extract uppdate.app to the dload folder.
I followed the tutorial " https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70863098&postcount=6 "
I downloaded the firmware (2016.10.10 / FRD-L09C432 / FRD-L09C432B131 / 1904918618).
Is it still possible to correct the problem?

There's 2 type of update.app that must be in dload folder.
1st is rollback package. You must flash those file 1st than replaced with your firmware update.app.
Mean you have to flash update.app 2 times.

You've got link to the rollback package at the bottom of this post: https://community.hihonor.com/docs/DOC-1752 After applying it repeat the process with the B131 update.app
Don't worry, it will work. Mine was in this state countless amount of times already.

Thanks for the help you are giving me.
I'm trying to follow your instructions. But my Honor 8 does not revive.
1 - Downloaded (FRD-L09 Rollback Package) https://community.hihonor.com/docs/DOC-1752
2 - I created the dload folder on sdcard. I copied the UPDATE.APP file into the dload folder on sdcard.
3 - I placed the sdcard on the phone. I turn the phone on.
. When I turn the phone on. This is frozen in the blue screen of the initial presentation. It has no activity. Is it necessary to press the 3 buttons (+/- on / off)?
. I turned the phone off again, and then restarted it, now pressing the 3 buttons (+/- on / off). The result is identical. This is frozen in the blue screen of the initial presentation. And it does not show any activity.
4 - I waited approx. 15 minutes. I removed the sdcard.
5 - Downloaded (FRD-L09C432B131 Android M Firmware) https://community.hihonor.com/docs/DOC-1752
6 - I deleted the UPDATE.APP file in the dload folder on sdcard, and copied the new UPDATE.APP file to the dload folder in sdcard (FRD-L09C432B131 Android M Firmware).
7 - I placed the sdcard on the phone. I turn the phone on.
8 -. When I turn the phone on. This is frozen in the blue screen of the initial presentation. It has no activity. I turned the phone off again, and then restarted it, now pressing the 3 buttons (+/- on / off). The result is identical. This is frozen in the blue screen of the initial presentation. And it does not show any activity.
When press the 3 buttons (+/- on / off)
My honor 8 does not come the Software Upgrade Mode.

My problem solved please admin close this thread
Please!! tell my how you did it. I have the same problem. Greatly appreciated.
I am just bothered by the same problem for days.
did some research in the meantime...it seems only a few other HAM7 owners ended up like we did.
Unfortunately none of them was able to get the phone back to life, even though it's "just" a soft brick.
bro my problem solved after am leave my phone on charger for 3 hours , before always failed but after recharge my phone for 3 hourse its working and make update with no errors
solved!!
Finally I managed to get the device back to life
Here's what I did:
1. get the latest ROM package for your device - this MUST be the ROM you had installed prior to the crash
2. extract the package with Huawei Update extractor
3. flash via fastboot a) the boot.img and b) the recovery.img (take those file from the extracted folder)
4. get a SD Card and put the update.app file into the dload folder in root directory (you have to create dload folder first)
5. put the SD Card into the device and force update via 3-button method (press Vol +, Vol - and Power at the same time)
6. Update should complete now (if you stuck with 90%, try a different ROM - for me it only worked with exactly the same package I've installed prior to the crash)
- That should be it....Can't tell you how happy I am, after 2 weeks I got my beloved Mate7 back.

You're sure you have the correct update.app in the dlaod folder of your sd-card? As I wrote before, for me it only worked when I had the exact same update.app (in my case it was the B324 Version).
But see the steps I've done before, I mean I flashed boot and recovery img - which I've extracted from the update package.
Honestly, I'm not 100% sure what finally solved my problem - I just tried to recall the steps I made.

How exactly do i force flash an Anroid 8 firmware on Honor 9

Hello, i would like to flash a firmware on my Honor 9 to be able to unlock the bootloader.
I found out i can do this with the dload method, so copying the update.app in the dload folder and then by pressing power + volume buttons install it.
my problem now is i think i found in some question here the files which should give me some firmware with Android 8 before the 6/18 secrutiy patch.
But i dont get which files exactly i now have to put in the dload folder.
The files are:
-update.zip
-> update.app
-update_full_STF-L09_hw_eu.zip
-> update.app
-update_data_full_public.zip
also there is some other stuff in the zip archies
So does anyone know which files should be in it? Everywhere it just says the Update.App but why are there 2 different update.app and all these other files if its just one file to put in?
Also here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/formatting-with-dload-method.3815949/ in post #5 it says i should put both in?
im super confused
Does anyone also know how i find out if the files i got are actually the right version?
Also i previously tried to install a firmware with Android 7 which told me its invalid when i tried to install it, since apperantly you cant install a android 7 firmware when you are on Anroid 8.
i got the Android 7 stuff from this thread

U11 RUU flash fail

Hello everyone,
My U11 was with a custom ROM.
I wanted to flash it back with an official ROM (for work), and then have 2 distinct phone for work and private.
However, after flashing back the official ROM, now it boots, saying the boot loader is unblock (can even pause the boot), then a black screen, then restarts...
And it loops like this, forever and ever and ever...
(i did the flashing by putting the zip file named "2PZCIMG.zip" on an SD card).
TWRP has disappeared. If i try to get there, i have the icon of a phone, with a read warning sign on it.
After pressing buttons power + vol up, I tried the "reset factory" there.
It did last not even 5 sec (with a successful message).
When i go to boot loader, fastboot devices gives me "???????????" and restarts the phone.
Please don't tell me i bricked it
Any help please ? :x
I'll get you a beer or 2.
Anyone, please ?
Let me ask my question differently.
Are these the symptoms of my phone being bricked ? :x

do following, download this tool HTC-RUU_Decrypt_Tool_3.6.8-WINDOWS64.zip extract it and go to the extracted Folder "HTC-RUU_Decrypt_Tool_3.6.8-WINDOWS64" and open a Terminal in it or open terminal and change to Folder with "cd folderPATH" and then you copy or move the "2PZCIMG.zip" to it and Type in Terminal following command for PowerShell Terminal "./RUU_Decrypt_Tool.exe -f name-of-the-2PZCIMG.zip" or for CMD Terminal "RUU_Decrypt_Tool.exe -f name-of-the-2PZCIMG.zip" and type Enter and let it Finish the Firmware extract. now are a New Folder in the "HTC-RUU_Decrypt_Tool_3.6.8-WINDOWS64" Folder "OUT_2PZC_xxxxx" go into it and open Folder firmware and only copy the "android-info.txt" to Desktop and you can Delete the "OUT_2PZC_xxxx" folder. now you rename the "2PZCIMG.zip" to "rom.zip" and Download this ARUWizard from Here ARUWizard to Flash StockROM with Windows, then you extract the downloaded zip and you see the Folder RUU ,now copy or move the "android-info.txt" from Desktop & "rom.zip" into RUU Folder and then start "ARUWizard.exe" and follow the Steps!!! if the Flash Process Fail you must use a newer or the same "2PZCIMG.zip" and do the steps again extract the "android-info.txt" and rename "2PZCIMG" to "rom.zip" and copy it to RUU folder and start "ARUWizard.exe" again. here you find the Files HTC U11 StockROM Files on this Website show the Picture you must click on "View All 117 Files" to see the Full list of Files ,but it work only with "2PZCIMG.zip" they are Signed!!! ps you can not Downgrade your Firmware with this tool or Flash a different branding StockROM, to do this you must Manipulate your device first, and it works with Bootloader Locked or Unlocked!!! Mate 9 Lite keeps restarting after a few seconds of boot

Hi, I have that problem of the title. What can it be?
It have TWRP and I did a rollback from Nougat to Marshmallow (Current Build BLL-L23C900B120-log) and after the rollback the problem persists, can't even charge my phone because it automatically boot and well, I tried with a lot of roms with C605 and nothing works. I performed a rollback because after I updated it back then it's build was NDR90M test key and it didn't let me open any banking app because of security reasons. Any solution? Thanks in advance.
Sorry if this is not the right forum. I understand that Huawei Mate 9 Lite is the same as Huawei Honor 6X.
Pls don't flash again B380 or any firmware without the data update.app or you may see the NDRM90-TEST keys trust me next time flash B342

Ok there is still a chance to get working again your device
You will need potatonv (if you got the bootloader locked as user not fblock)
B120log zip and B342 Update and Data update
This TWRP
And Huawei firmware extractor
First recover the phone
I don't know if you really had the bootloader unlocked if you don't you need to unlock it using potatonv with kirin 65x (A) the test point of BLL-L23 is located near the fingerprint conector (right of them) short it when connect your phone to get the EDL and start the potatonv also save your new bootloader unlock code and do the OEM unlock
From the B120 update.app open the Huawei update extractor and extract the recovery and recovery2 images
Put the phone in fastboot mode (put USB and press vol -)
And flash
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot flash recovery2 recovery2.img
Now take a SD card and make the dload folder and copy the b120 update.app here
Put the phone in dload using the 3 button combo (pwr vol - +) and the update should be installed now
If the process is correct your device will boot as normal with android 6.0 B120Log
To correctly update now the bootloader needs to be still unlocked
Flash the TWRP 3.0.3.0 (newers version directly don't boot)
Copy the B342 zip and this OEM info (not the update.app) to the micro SD (THE INTERNAL MEMORY IS NOT AVAILABLE DURING THIS PROCESS) flash first the OEM info reunlock the bootloader using the fastboot OEM unlock next flash the B342 zip
After that reboot and wait until the system boots complete the device oobe and in the phone info you will still get NDRM90-TEST keys
To fix that you need the B342 Data zip delete in the SD CARD the B120 update.app and replace with the B342 Data update.app
Do again the dload combo and let the phone flash the cust and other info if the process is correct you device info will show the correct compilation instead of NDRM90-TEST keys and safety net should work now (Device certificated)
