Im in stock and i just updated to 4.4.4 OTA.
i wanted to know which is better. 1. Root and install Xposed 2.Install CWM [cyanogenmod 11]
and please send me the proper link o guidance to root .
XT1033
4.4.4
INDIAN DUAL SIM
i prefer best battery and zero boatwares
The procedure works for 4.4.4 too...just flash the latest recovery and SuperSU
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684234
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
thank you, would u prefer rooted over Custom firmware ?
I prefer custom firmwares.... They just have more functionality integrated and I prefer that....Though rooted with xposed and a bunch of cool modules is pretty good too

yes it will lose warranty but there's always the possibility of the service center not knowing you've rooted and unlocked bootloader if you flash back stock rom.

Rooted Moto G Successfully
Hi,
This is excellent.
I was facing problem with me Moto G KK 4.4.4 that loosing signal in both SIM card some times and delay in getting Signal. After reading this nice guide I have rooted Moto G, to see whether the problem solved or not. Currently its working fine.
I have installed greenify- Battery backup increased automatically
Will try Gravity Box
Now my question is- Will my device upgrade to Lolipop when Motorola will release it for Indian dual version phone?
Suggest few more application which will keep phone healthy...
I need the following with full version
1. Poweramp player (patch not working)
2. call recorder (record should be from both side)

[Q] Stock firmware and OTA

I have a Moto G XT1033 running Android 5.0.2 (Asia Retail Official OTA update).I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it with CF auto root method. No custom recovery is installed,it's running stock recovery. I uninstalled Gp news, movies, utube, motorola help, alert ,migrate apps and 2 live wallpapers without taking backup. No other system modifications were made. My question is will I be able to install the future OTA as Ive deleted the motorola apps mentioned above. If no what should I do in order to freshly flash the stock firmware as I've the stock recovery.

nice just got a notification on my phone that an update is available.
I wonder if a rooted and custom kernel (experience) would interfere with a smooth upgrade?
- would I lose root?
- custom kernel problematic?
thanks merlin

If I understand it correctly from here https://www.techmesto.com/nokia-7-2-bootloader-unlock/amp/ you can not downgrate the Firmware by yourself.
I bought my Nokia phone yesterday and had luck that it came with the September security patch so I had no issues with unlocking and rooting it!
I wonder now if it will work when I upgrade the Firmware (security) Patch to the latest one now? Will that work and will the bootloader still be unlocked?
Does someone know that?
Any news on this? Same problem here with my Nokia 6.2/ Android 10..
