thank you, would u prefer rooted over Custom firmware ?
I prefer custom firmwares.... They just have more functionality integrated and I prefer that....Though rooted with xposed and a bunch of cool modules is pretty good too

yes it will lose warranty but there's always the possibility of the service center not knowing you've rooted and unlocked bootloader if you flash back stock rom.

No way bro if u have unlocked ur bootloader u will recive ota update. After rooting ur phone it will modify system so we can't receive ota update . we have to flash stock ROM again to get ota update or wait some developers will make flashable ota update that we can flash
Rooted Moto G Successfully
Hi,
This is excellent.
I was facing problem with me Moto G KK 4.4.4 that loosing signal in both SIM card some times and delay in getting Signal. After reading this nice guide I have rooted Moto G, to see whether the problem solved or not. Currently its working fine.
I have installed greenify- Battery backup increased automatically
Will try Gravity Box
Now my question is- Will my device upgrade to Lolipop when Motorola will release it for Indian dual version phone?
Suggest few more application which will keep phone healthy...
I need the following with full version
1. Poweramp player (patch not working)
2. call recorder (record should be from both side)

i have the original moto g (xt1033) which is the dual sim variant.
but i have the xt1032 gpe image installed on it.
someone told me when the OTA comes out for lollipop and when i update my phone. the update might brick it. is there any chance of that happening?
Well your phone thinks that it's the xt1032, I wouldn't take the chance of flashing the XT1032 bootloader and bricking it. I'm in the same position as you right now, what I'm going to do is wait for the lollipop update to become a flashable .zip so i don't need to run OTA and flash the new bootloader which would make downgrading and unbricking impossible until it releases on XT1033... whereas a zip flashed in recovery would be pain-free and safe if you're already converted to xt1032, you know that atleast, I'm hoping, cause all single sim roms ontop of converted GPE xt1033 run the sim fine, but the OTA including bootloader is the bad part.
tl;dr: DONT install the OTA update, wait for a flashable zip and flash it over your converted setup or you risk bricking from new bootloader

Actually, being rooted can make the installation seem fine, when really it isn't.

Got an update for the Motorola Update-services app in the Play Store today.
It says in the release notes it is in preparation of the Lollipop update.
Hopefully it will also become available for the dual sim Moto G.
When I do the update check it still says my software is up-to-date..
Hi people i have some questions about Rooting and unlocking the bootloader of the moto g (1st Gen) is my first phone that's need to unlocking to root and flash rom's,let's go:
1. if I unlock the bootloader everything on my phone will be wiped?
2..if I do root and unlock the bootloader in my current KitKat i will be able to upgrade to the lollipop?
3.Lollipop already have root? it supports the MultiROM?
4.if I root now be able to upgrade to the lollipop and then root again? but if there is an update after 5.0 will be able to use it (ex:5.1 minor fixes) with root?
Sorry for many questions
Thanks advanced.

1. Unlocking the boot loader will wipe everything...yes... You need to take backup of everything before unlocking..
2. You need to flash custom recovery to root your phone... My sugesstion is don't flash anything as of now or root.
If you root your phone, you will get ota,but you can't install it... So once you installed lollipop, you root it..
3. Lollipop will support multirom..wait for some dev to develop it..
4. Rooting is easy.. There are plenty of guides there for rooting.. Wait for few days to get lollipop and root it..
---------- Post added at 07:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:22 AM ----------
5... You can't install any official update if you root it.. But you can flash the update if any one created a flashable zip

I have a Moto G XT1033 running Android 5.0.2 (Asia Retail Official OTA update).I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it with CF auto root method. No custom recovery is installed,it's running stock recovery. I uninstalled Gp news, movies, utube, motorola help, alert ,migrate apps and 2 live wallpapers without taking backup. No other system modifications were made. My question is will I be able to install the future OTA as Ive deleted the motorola apps mentioned above. If no what should I do in order to freshly flash the stock firmware as I've the stock recovery.

Try and search around the forum for it I do not have it on the top of my head sorry!
Hello on turning my phone on this morning I am prompted with this (screenshot below) and I'm skeptical about installing it as I love 4.4.2 if I install and do not like can I come back to 4.4.2? Is this lollipop?
Yes that is a Lollipop update. The clue is at V20C.
I'm assuming yours is D838? From which country?
Are you using some mods for the data speed and temperature on notification bar?
Don't worry, you will still be able go back to 4.4.2 by using the KDZ or TOT method

Yes D838 TWN model there is a screenshot if you need anymore info, and yes network speed indicator, CPU temperatur and CPU voltage in the top left as I like seeing what's happening at any given moment, the phone is stock rooted and the mods are through exposed, if I update to lollipop will I loose root? And also my mods? I would like to update but I would really dis-like not having root or my mods as they make my phone just how I like it would feel very bare without them.

Thank you I've just had a read and should be fine returning to 4.4.2 if I'm unhappy.
Yes this is what I suspected I hoped I would be able to gain root but I did assume exposed would not work thank you anyway for your helpfulnes! I will install later on and give opinion on how it feels and runs, I will miss root and exposed.

You may get root on Lollipop by flashing zip files (rom and SuperSU) from 4.4 recovery, more information at: http://lgviet.com/forum/threads/rom-d83820c_twn_pure.37488/ . I did this way and got root on my D838 Lollipop device

sorry fixed
I am not addict to custom roms but if you need anything from an owner of a rooted H955 v15c just mention it.
By the way, are you planning custom rom for all models?
yea good luck with locked bootloader.
If you need anything with a rooted 15e (latest lollipop version) image, I can help. Also, how are you going to flash a ROM with the bootloader locked in marshmallow, since bootloader locked in mm = no root and no flashing ROMs? But still very good initiative, I'll look forward to see your progress on the ROM. Nice idea C:
We will give you all our support~
i will try to root mm first
Do it, do it now
i bricked send it to lg and i hope it will get fixed by warranty as far of lock boot loader the phone failed while flashing rom and the partitions where changed so when i was flashing stock Rom was stuck at 9 percent on lg up and i read on forums a lot have the same problem maybe i will not root again lg g flex 2 stock marshmallow to be safe in my other phones the rooting process was easy now i dot want to brick it again sorry guys il try to make mods from v10 for 5.1.1 nothing more for you guys me i will not use it im guess root break this phone partitions so sorry

... oh really ? and how exactly can we do that? It would be great if you could explain it, because everyone here is actually waiting for that to happen !
Flashfire may work at least backing up all partitions.
I believe it still needs a custom recovery to flash but I haven't gotten my device yet. Will be here in a few days.
