[Q] Rooting method question

So, i'm going to be rooting my G2 here in the next few days. I was wondering if my steps for rooting and then installing this would work. any insight anyone has will be extremely appreciated. Now, i'm on 4.4.2 now so i know i'll use this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2673736) to do so. However, i'm wondering if i dont need to follow it EXACTLY to get what i want. Shouldn't i be able to follow it to downgrade and install a custom recovery, but instead of flashing the rom in step 6, just flash SuperSU, flash custom ROM, flash GAPPs, and then flash the D801 KK modem?
I'm asking because i dont want to have a stock LG rom, but a custom one.

Ok if you are on 4.4.2 you will need to downgrade. The easiest method for me was tot method. You need to instal drivers on windows 7 64bit, then lg flash tool 1.8 , download 4.2.2 tot and ioroot.Go in download mode on your phone, change usb communication port in device manager in windows to 41.load the tot file and the dll file (needed to communicate with your phone) in the lg flash tool, restart the phone leave the cable plugged in and the downgrade will get hapen. Then autoroot via adb and ioroot. Sorry for my grammar O and then you ned to install autorec or flashify to be able to flash recovery, restart in recovery instal whatever you want Cm11 or stock(need a special kernel if you have purchased the phone lately)diferent hardware.ask me to clarify if you want.bye

[Q] How to root and install TWRP on Lollipop Sprint Variant

Was wondering if any previous methods worked to root and install TWRP on Lollipop Sprint Variant or if there are any new ways? Thanks!
Edited: Nevermind i was able to flash twrp recovery through odin then install the SU through that and i was Golden!
Is it really that easy? I've been waiting on lollipop to attempt to root my phone and now I have it, im ready to root. I don't need a custom rom, i just want to be able to delete stuff from my memory card from the phone and maybe hot spot hack

LG G2 Noob

OK, my wife upgraded to the Note 5... tried to get her on a Nexus 6, but she wanted the pen. As a result, I got her old G2. I plan to root, install TWRP and try some ROMs, mainly CM13. New to the LG family, but have rooted and installed a ton of ROMs to my Asus ME301T tablet, so I am familiar with the process and adb. Here is my plan on how I understand to do this to the G2
Root with One Click Root V 1.3
Flashify TWRP
Back up current stock ROM(LP 5.0.2 30c)
Wipe all data except internal storage
Flash CM13
Flash GAPPS (going with open GAPPs minimal)
wipe Cache and Dalvik
Reboot and profit
Is this all correct? I am a bit confused on the use of bootstacks. The CM13 thread says that I do not need a bumped bootstack if I am on a current LG bootstack. Is this correct?
Thanks for the help as I am a bit hesitant to do this with out full knowledge beforehand. Don't want to brick this device
Your understanding is correct. All the steps and the part about the bootstack.
If you're into multi-boot, where you can leave the stock rom untouched installing ROMS to the cache or data partition, check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447534
[PATCHER][APP] Dual boot any ROM on all Galaxy S4 variants!
I know it says S4 but the project eventually developed and other devices were supported.

You won't get root with 30c you'll have to downgrade your ROM to 20g or 30b with a .kdz and LG flash tool 2014 at least I had to its so much simpler with kit kat ROM to root. All you have to do on kk is download towel root apk and install it then install SuperSU from the Google play store. I never found a working lollipop root method they all failed for me.
Good luck friend!

TWRP on rooted J700p

I have a Samsung Galaxy J700p (boost Mobile) on software version J700PVPS1AQD1 that I rooted using CF Auto Root. I want to install TWRP recovery, but I don't know if being already rooted changes anything. All the guides I see show only how to install TWRP and root at the same time through Odin. I want to be extra cautious about this, I don't want to have to re-flash the stock ROM again.
