Bricked from only FastBoot mode - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi to All,
and thanks how can to going out from this situation wiht my phone.
During a firware update (maybe a wrong one) the phone restart and go into the loop of huawei logo.
The only think that i can done is to put the phone in fastboot, from first think i say: " good, i can try to recover my phone!" but i can't, let me explin why:
- My Bootloader is not unlocked and i can't flash the right firware to try to perform a factory reset.
- For this reason I start to think that i could unlock my bootloader, but i can't because I don't have the unlock "password"
- I try to get the unlock password from the huawei website, but i can't becuase i don't have the Product ID
I don't kwon what i can do anymore, do you have any idea? Is there any other way to get the Product ID or the unlock " password"?
Please help me i'm really need to have my phone back for works reason.
Thanks again to all.

I'm sorry. I have misunderstood it. What's your firmware before it happened?
You have to dload your original firmware. Just extract update.app from update.zip then copy it into dload folder in your sdcard

Please give me some info.
1. What is the firmware before your phone has a problem.
2. Without any success means? What's the error message you got?

i was on B330 and try to turn back a previous version and goes successfull without any error but at the restart was looped on the huawei logo.
with DC unlocker the programm says that i'm still on B330.
I would like to try flash boot and try to recovery my phone but i'm stucked from this " password unlock" that without a product ID i can't have it.

You may try to flash "you previous firmware" via fastboot.
Extract boot.img , recovery.img & system.img update.app
Type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Then you may try to factory reset
Shutdown your phone. Press and hold volume up + power (do not plug any usb cable). Release it when you see Huawei logo.

Then no choice you have to get bootloader code. Maybe you can email to huawei customer support to get bootloader code or the fastest way to unlock is using DC unlocker. Search for other thread about DC unlocker if you have issue.

Huawei P8 Max DAV703 Android 6.0 EMUI 4.0 64 GB chinese variant trying to convert to EU
Well I hope that it isn't completely FUBAR.. I know there has to be a way, but i forget how.
No fastboot, no adb support.. no recovery, no bootloader.. fastboot was only available through software.
I have hard reset which has reset it to bootloop, and I have system upgrade that whatever I do, crashes at 5%
Basically, I bricked my Huawei.
I partially rooted it with kingoroot without doing anything..
but other apps saw it as unrooted so i was going to do the proper way, unlock bootloader, etc..
Then I discovered the Huawei SRK tool for bootloader/kernel/recovery etc.
Checked if my bootloader was unlocked, it was..
restarted the phone, it was fine
Then I was going to flash the recovery, and that's when it went into a bootloop
Like always.. just the logo shows, and if i try to turn it off, it restarts.
Huawei P8 Max DAV703 Android 6.0 EMUI 4.0
hard reset works - pressiing vol up down and power pushes it into hard reset but it stays in bootloop.
usb in, vol down power - puts into update mode which stops at 5% with error.
My next idea would be to try and extract the necessary files and try to use the Huawei update extractor tool
but after trying many update files, I can't find the one that would work, unless it will just keep crashing at 5% always.
Would anyone know what I could do in this situation?

can i hope to restart my huawei mate 7?

hi guys, i have done issues on issues on this phone, at begin I accindentally formatted the system by a cwm recovery, i tried all to make another one, after a lot of process i realized that it was not possible, i had first tried to flash a rom b cwm and he gived me and error like, func NO:10(func_BOOt_recovery)
error NO:2. I solved this with a program that gived me a recovery stock, I was 4.4 on my phone before the accident, i tried all the update, 4.4,5.1.6.0 with normal combination (power but, butt + butt-) with stock recovery, it start the process but at 98% stop, in every case. so I tried to create a flashable rom with cwm thanks to huawei update exatractor, tried the process, and now i'am really blocked, if i try to go in recovery the phone give me the problem error: NO:12 (func_load_iom3) error NO:1,I tried to change recovery by fastboot mode, but nothing, whit any recovery the phone say to me the same error. can u help me? sorry for my bad eng thank you.
Do you remember what firmware you have before format system in Cwm???? If you remember download that same firmware and extract using huawei update extractor and flash this partitions in fast boot.
If you have 4.4.2 flash system.img , boot.img , recovery.img, userdata.img and after this try go to recovery and write what it's happan

It's mean you have unlocked bootloader. You break your system partition and you must flash only backup using twrp or you must try flash img file by fast boot. If you can you can try repair your mate 7 using DC unlocker. Search in google and check how they repair smartfone but you must buy some credits to work!!! 4 credits it's 4 euro. Read how much you need

correct you must use dc phoenix. This program can flash full firmware. Read about here ----> https://www.dc-unlocker.com/DC-Phoenix-flash-repair-tutorial

Very hard brick

Hi!
Okay, this case is really weird and of course is thanks to my negligence. I'm gonna post it hoping someone can help me, or at least keep other people aware about trying stupid things lol
I tried to update to Nougat with an unofficial method (I don't consider necessary to tell what method...) and I just messed it up, badly. I'll try to give a detailed explanation:
The phone has the bootloader unlocked. After trying to update to Nougat, it got stuck when rebooting. After the unlocked bootloader warning message, the phone won't go further than that, it just stays there. If I hold and press the power button for more than 10 seconds the phone won't shut down, it will restart to get stuck again after the unlocked BL warning, making impossible to turn it off completely.
I try to enter to stock recovery by pressing vol + and power button at the same time (tried other combinations, vol - and power button & vol -, vol + and power button) but I have no luck, it just gets stuck at the same point.
I already tried extracting BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, CUST.img and SYSTEM.img from an official update.app and flash them in that order via fastboot (yeah, I can enter to fastboot mode). The process is successful in terminal (I use Linux) but when I reboot the phone, it gets stuck again after the warning.
The only recovery that is actually working is TWRP, the one ported for the Honor 8 (flashed via fastboot), but it won't let me install any custom ROM, it just stays in "patching image unconditionally" forever, making me press and hold the power button but this won't shutdown the phone, it reboots, gets stuck and... so on *infinite loop*
Btw, when I wipe cache, dalvik and data in TWMP, the message "failed to mount /cust" with red letters appears, so it's probably a very corrupted system partition. also, It's impossible to repair the custom partition. This appears:
Repairing Custom using e2fdck...
/sbin/e2fsck -fp /devblock/mmcblk0p44 process ended with ERROR: 8
Unable to repair Custom.

Tried HiSuite from Huawei (in Windows) and it doesn't even recognize the phone.
Hope somebody could possibly give a solution, if there's any. If not, I'm afraid I have a beautiful paperweight now...
Oh yeah, one very important part: my Honor 8 is the US version (FRD-L04), and yes, I'm making sure I'm getting the current update.app for this model.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi There
you try this method.
Get a SD CARD
make a directory at the card root name dload
put your best update.app in the directory (the most older version the best)
insert into your phone 2nd sim slot
try everyway to make the 3 button combo.
hope this help
edit: you need stock recovery to do this

Yes, but since you r able to go into TWRP, can your use adb command like adb reboot bootloader than flash stock recovery image?
after that since it is keep rebooting, you can hold your volume up and down all the way to force update.
IDK if this work. but no harm to try it, since it is "very hard brick"
Edit: Fastboot erase {partition} before flash back the image maybe help

I assume you having the update.app from a L04 full firmware, not the OTA.
for the not able to repair partition like custom maybe you can erase it using fastboot erase command and fastboot flash it back
or you can fastboot erase all the known partition like system, cache, data, custom etc.... and fastboot flash back the image.
i assume your fastboot still able to access

I did it!!
I could bring it back following some of your methods. Here's how I achieved it:
-Formatted the Custom partition in fastboot.
-Flashed BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, CUST.img and SYSTEM.img again.
-Forced the update by putting the entire firmware in the dload folder located in the sdcard, it failed at the end, but I rebooted by pressing and holding the power button.
-The phone passed beyond the point where it was getting stuck (finally!), but now it got stuck in the Honor 8 blue screen. Rebooted it again doing coldboot.
-Entered to stock recovery, wiped everything.
Then I just rebooted it and Voalá! It started all new!
Guess it was not that hard brick haha. I'll have to change the name of the topic.
A million thanks @chongns, you rock!

If you can't find any solution with ADB, as a last resort you could use DC Phoenix to fix it. But it costs 15 Euros to use it. That's what I had to do fix the same problem you have.

You can enter in fastboot, by pressing volume down when the phone is powering on and holding the button, immediately insert the usb cable (already plugged in the pc) and you will enter in fastboot.

When you enter in this shell, you are not allowed to use ADB commands, but only fastboot commands, previously you typed adb devices, now you can't. But if you type fastboot device it will shown you your id number plus device, just try if what i sad is true

Honor v 10 softbricked!?

Under AICP14 i had significant problems with Bluetooth, so I'm back to the latest pie version via erecovery ... all right. Then in preparation for root in TWRP noticed that data is again encrypted. So reset to factory settings via twrp, rebooted into the TWRP3.2.3-3 and formatted data with yes. Thereafter, on the screen was "formatting done," but down the blue animation was still running around, about 10 minutes, apparently hung. Since I could not do anything else, power button long pressed and booted again into the TWRP, but the hangs at the entrance screen, probably clear in the unsuccessful attempt to decrypt data. The Erecovery with the ability to restore the system and the stock recovery is not reachable for me, with everything I've tried. Fastboot is still to reach ... When booting the device will always hang at the inscription "The device is booted" ...has someone an idea? ? Thanks for thinking!
How to restore erecovery? It was pie, latest version installed from erecovery on the device before this crash...
Flash the erecovery partition. Extract the IMG from the update.zip file and flash the same.

I Managed to extract ERECOVERY_RAMDI.img and ERECOVERY_RAMDI.img header... i also extracted SYSTEM.img/header and RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img/header frum the update.app
Is it correcht to follow this syntax:
fastboot flash erecovery_ramdisk ERECOVERY_RAMDI.img
to reflash the erecovery? btw. i dont know the exact version of the firmware i installed, it was yesterday i think it had been BKL-L09 (9.0.0.233) C432E4R1P12 , but i cant find that as an update.zip. So i took BKL-L09C432E4R1P8B108-log (9.0.0.108) and extracted the files from there...

As long as it is pie erecovery, it should work fine. Yes, flash that file.

writing 'erecovery_ramdisk
FAILED (remote: command not allowed)
or should i flash to recovery_ramdisk not to Erecovery_ramdisk?

@edit: I got it following this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78752217&postcount=22
i reached erecovery and i´m installing 9.0.0233 via wifi.... hope it wil run til its completed
The most ****ty problem comes if you want to remove the idiotic encryption via formatting data partition in twrp with the red "yes" ...
Thanks to shashank1320!
