I stand corrected. It is indeed 32-bit.

so you download this app from play store called (samsung info) and you tell you that you have 64 bit???why in mine tell me its just 32 bit...so the app is buggy???please tell me.

I've played around with my J7 Prime some more and I've determined that it is in fact 32-bit architecture.
To make sure I tried flashing the 64-bit version of Xposed Framework, which was rejected with a message that the device was not 64-bit.
I don't know why all the reviews and spec lists online say it's 64-bit, because it isn't. My apologies for misinformation earlier, but i believed as you did, that it was supposed to be 64-bit.

You expect anybody to believe this? If you mean the desktop version of windows 7 is it even usable with qemu?
the question is: who wants to have it?
as we all know, all applications from vers 6 do NOT run under version 7!
so where is the motivation to have windows phone 7 ???

he's talking about windows seven
Windows 7 has been compiled for x86, x64 and itanium.
it has not been compiled for ARM and could not be compiled for ARM in its present form.
Additionally, (as far as I know) there is no x86 emulator for ARM that would be able to properly run Windows 7.
Bull****? yep.

It should be possible, because there is a ARM port of Qemu and Bochs. Windows 95 is already running on WM (and it runs fast an the hd2).

Me too, that would be so nice. I don't know what i'd need to do to get that working though. The thought of sharing resources between Android and Ubuntu on a tablet doesn't really excite me.

compiling kernel on device (not-cross-compiling)

I have Ubuntu installed on my TF701, and I'd like to attempt to compile android kernels on the device itself. I would think/hope that this would eliminate the need for a cross-compiling setup.
I'm also interested in compiling general linux kernels for use with ubuntu/debian on the device.
Has anyone done this before? Any pitfalls? Any suggested reading?
This should be possible, but it will be much slower than on a PC. Do you really want to wait hours for a compiled kernel?
If you are able to install the Android SDK on a PC, you are about one command line away from cross-compiling a kernel.

No - the general consensus seems to be that optimizing the kernel for speed is worse than optimizing for size, so I didn't try.

Since you are talking about size, have you looked into the bionic patch? It is supposed to reduce the kernel's binary size quite a bit by removing and optimizing c headers in the source code...

I don't know much about it and it is the reason that I am asking, haha... All I know is that it will find the unused c headers and compiling the source and create a smaller binary. For some reason, it also speed up your device. Nexus forum is discussing a lot between devs. It is just over my head atm and trying to understand it as much as I can... I may not understand it correctly and thanks for your time with a noob's question like this, haha...

I would love to but I ran across this topic when I built my toolchain for tegra 3 t33 about 3 wks ago... I brought it up now since we are talking about size of the binary. If I remember correctly, the bionic patch is searching for working c headers and makes a new list before you compiles your source code... So that you are only compiling the usable source and remove the unused one.. The tool is find_your_cheaders.py. I have not used it and want to know if any dev on this forum using it with some experiences with this patch.. I will finish what I am doing and do more research on this topic and will bring you in with links and more information.. Thanks again for your opinions...

This repo only disable PatchGuard. However we already have the method to disable Code Integrity in Windows 8 RT Jailbreak, only need someone to port it (I think).
The project won't build in VS 2015 Community. VS 2013 Community works though.

Well...it's not that simple, even though it sounds simple.
You also have to check the chipset, graphics controller and partition layout. If these are the same, then the custom rom would probably work. But, you need to look at the install script to see if it checking for model number. Also, I would look at the build.prop file and see what the dpi setting is. You may have to change it for your phone.
