[Q] rooting question

im on my stock rom and stock everything just rooted... i do have clockwork recovery though. question is does this prevent me from getting ota updates or not? i have read various things saying that if you have a custom recovery installed it will prevent the install of the ota update but you still get the file ota.... Also, if it does work to install an ota update will i lose root? thanks

If u r on stock rom = u have OTA updates.
custom recovery wont prevent u from getting ota updates,FOTA but once u updated to the latest rom, u will lost root n custom recovery if i m not wrong..
correct me if i m wrong any1

What about if I super CID my device, will I still get the ota updates? I changed my CID from HTC__044 to 11111111.

hi, i have d800 at&t device and its on 20c, i cant update it ota so i know that there is a way to update to lolipop manualy but i need to be at 20y to do so, is there a way to update manualy to 20 y so i can go further?

Possible solution
Try reflashing the official rom whit this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369 i can update flashing this tot file with flashtool and searching the software update in the update section of the phone

[Q] Issue updating from 17L

Hi, iam trying to update my bacon from 17L to the latest firmware. But I can't update officially, since iam running a custom recovery.
So I downloaded the incremental update from xda, and when I tried to flash it I got an error (see attachment)
Any help will be appreciated

According to my phone iam running 17L, why does the recovery mention my phone on 4.4.2??

hello
i received b514 on my phone so i update it but it always says something wrong with the package so i download it again and again and again until i download it then i went to files and extracted the update and it worked but my phone stuck to the second boot animation then i flashed twrp to see if i made a backup on my SD card i didn't find anything i ****ed up so i download b514 from the internet then flashed the original recovery from b514 update.app then i tried to install the update through the force update way but now it stuck at 5%
help? please

Maybe you should flash the downgrade pack and then flash lollipop and try again.

V10 bootloop after update

Is there a way to download the firmware and update it manually? Looked on LG.com and didnt see where I can download the update and flash it. Can anyone help me with this?
