N8013 dead. Need help. - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

N8013 WiFi
Rooted and running custom ROM. Forgot which.
Anyway, was using fine one day and all of a sudden it rebooted. Then its stuck in bootloop. Used hard button to get into twrp, it show twrp on the screen then went back to reboot and bootloop again.
I tried to use Odin and flash stock firmware but it FAIL every time. Tried 4 different USB cable, 2 diff PC, 5 different USB port between 2 PC. Same result. I downloaded 3 stock firmware, 2 from sammobile and 1 from rootgalaxy website by zedo max.. All 3 fail to write. Drivers are up to date. PC showed Device ready for use.
Some how its not letting Odin write band. Can't access twrp no matter how many tries. Keep rebooting after twrp show up on the screen..
Any suggestion? Is it Bricked?

Where does odin fail ??

What does flashing TWRP (the Odin version) with Odin do? Does TWRP work after flashing it?
The flash memory may be bad (can only do so many writes to it before it goes to read-only) but you want to ensure that is the case before giving up.

odin won't let me flash twrp. i put the twrp img in the pda slot. click start. it ran it check and then FAIL.
odin get to sboot.in then stop going further, that's where it FAIL. com port show up, connection is fine.

Odin you flash TAR files.

cannot flash anything in odin verizon gs3

It been over a week now and I am starting to get concerned. I've tried everything. Different cable.re download Roms. Odin. Factory reset. Everytime I flash in Odin I get to nand write. Then failure. I don't have my pc right now to post pictures. Any advice? I'm coming from a fascinate, which I have flashed at least 30 times with Odin or heimdall. I've never had this many problems getting a tar or M.D.5 file to flash. The only thing I havn't done is set my phone back to cdma/evdo/ lte in phone info. I turn off 4g to save battery.
Has anyone else encountered write failures while trying to flash their gs3?
I think you're running into the locked bootloader issue. Check this thread out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28402810
On the OP there is a script taken from odin if yours matches its because of the bootloader. Take a look around the dev section for the Verizon model.
What exactly are you trying to flash, and how are you doing it?
I didn't have any problem at all flashing the root66 rooted-stock from the forums. Are you selecting the file for "PDA" (not phone)??
Yes, as Nightwind Hawk said, you should only be using the PDA button while flashing in Odin, as i believe this flashes the system file, one part that is not digitally signed.
i'm trying to flash the root66 image. I am fairly certain this has nothing to do with the locked boot-loader. As mentioned, I am coming from a fascinate which I have flashed MANY times. I know how to flash a samsung phone in odin. Lots of other guys have flashed that tar file over a stock vzw gs3 with no issues. I cannot even flash the stock rom that is in the verizon developer section. here is what happens.
Boot to download mode
fire up odin, phone makes connection
put stock.vzw_root66.tar into pda
start
error message
soft brick
reboot
get error message that firmware is corrupt and to connect to KIES for emergency recovery
connect phone to odin
flash stock kernel.tar
phone will work again
here is an associated thread with the error i get, however i have already tried re-downloading everything, tried every USB port on the machine, and re-installed drivers

Resolution: Somehow the version of ODIN 3.07 i had was the issue. It would appear to run properly and would never return corrupt file messages. I re-downloaded odin from samsung developer site, and the root66 flashed no problem..

Follow the instructions from this post. Since you are soft bricked at the moment, you'll need to start at step 4. If you have an extSD in your phone, you might want to pull it until after you're up and running because the "Android" folder from Kitkat needs to be deleted and rebuilt for Lollipop.
That's what I tryed first but it didn't work,
First step.... flash SM-G900P_OA6_FullRestore.
(on boot i have samsung galaxy s5 screen with blue letters at the top saying recovery booting and it loops.)
sense that didn't work i tryed... SM-G900P_NI3-Full_Restore_Unrooted (Compressed Archive)
(on boot i have samsung galaxy s5 screen with blue letters at the top saying recovery booting and it loops.)
then i tryed SM-G900P_OA6_FullRestore. again but still no luck im out of ideas
I cant get to any recovery.
please help.

Are you using the wrong terminology? You have to use Odin and a PC to install the .tar. Also, the first boot into Lollipop can take about 20 minutes. You have to be patient. I see you posting in different threads and you seem to be digging deeper into a hole.
Are you using Odin and starting by downloading (to PC) the file in step #4? Then follow the remaining steps "exactly". Re-read those instructions and if you not already downloaded the needed files, do that first.

Try this: Do a battery pull, then put the phone in Download mode, hook up to PC and then open Odin and then Odin custom recovery, either twrp or Philz. Uncheck auto reboot in odin and once it passes, pull the battery, unplug and boot into recovery. Also, you might update Odin, there's a link to Odin 3.10.0 in my post. Let's see if we can get that far and go from there.

Which recovery tar did you Odin? You pulled the battery after Odin said PASS, then unplugged the phone, put battery back in and immediately tried to get into recovery? If so, I'm stumped.

What about flashing back to an older version of android? Full tar flash.

Like ne5, and nothing else, just see if you can get stock to boot, no messing around trying to flash recovery.
This is RWillco12's NE5 stock.. Have the phone in download mode and run the .exe
Thanks TD.

if i could flash just the bootloader for ota6 maybe that would help.

im going to try and flash G900P_NKD_FullRestore.tar in odin if that dont work ill try ne5
and will report back shortly.
well nkd full restore boots up to
unknowen error!
wait..
done!
udc start.
power reset or
unknown

this is the way i got it back from retech after they replaced my bezel and digitlizer and screen
i never had an issue with anything software wize before that.
Have you tried flashing the phone without any sim cards inserted including the sprint card? You are flashing from a powered off state right? You know it wont work unless phone is powered off before going into download mode.
As a last resort attached is the pit file for the 16gb G900P. Unzip and put it into the pit section of odin and flash the stock firmware again. It will repartition the entire phone when it flashes the stock image.

Another bricked s6- - - - Resolved

Pretty sure it's hosed but I will ask anyway.
What I have is a verizon S6 that is on AOE2, stock other than root.
What I did to cause brick: I tried flashing wifi tether mod, but flashed the AOC3 version by mistake. I flashed via flash fire but it is stuck in a boot loop.
The problem: Boot looping at verizon screen. Odin and smart switcher wont see the device in recovery/odin mode.
What I have tried: Clear cache and factory reset, No change. I tried odin but the pc does not see the phone in recovery. Same with smart switch and ADB. They do see the device during boot up prior to the reboot, about 38seconds during the verizon logo. Also they see it with the phone completely off but won't allow any changes.
Not sure what the problem ended up being, but finally got odin to pick it up. I think it was a bad copy of odin. I had odin zip on memory stick I used on each system to rule out pc as cause. Re-downloaded odin and tried again, seen it no problem. I just wanted to personally thank each of you for taking the time to help!

It's not all lost keep experimenting with Odin you should be able to recover from that. Be sure you just go straight to download mode once it boots up. I don't see why you should have problem getting it back.

So I guess I am not sure what to try. I do see the device in odin when it is booting but it loses it again when it reboots. It doesnt seem to be long enough to do anything. All I have tried is flashing AOC3 to the AP. Is there something else I can try?
Also I am not sure why, or if it is normal, but with the device completely off odin sees it. Again all I have tried is flashing the AP, and I tried smart switch in this set up as well but didnt get anywhere.
I wasn't sure what all the mod changes and if it might be kernel or something other than the OS but I am not sure how to tell or what to try if it is.
use a diff usb port/cable and flash oe2 firmware tar in AP slot. should be able to boot after that.

Tried 3 computers , few cables and every port. Seems it is something to do with it being in recovery that PCs wont see it.
Are you trying in Download Mode? Holding Power+home+down vol, then UP vol to get into Download Mode?? Tried re-installing Verizon s6 drivers and rebooting the PC? Recovery Mode won't let you re-flash with ODIN....
No reason it would be bricked from flashing a wifi tether mod.
Download Odin 3.10.6 and the Stock OE2 Tar:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/general/verizon-s6-stock-restore-files-t3096000
Reboot your phone into download mode as per DeathAngel's instructions. Odin should see the phone, flash the Tar in the AP slot. When it reboots, hold VolUp, VolDown, Home, and Power for a few seconds until it reboots again. Boot into recovery, do a factory reset.
If Odin isn't picking it up in download mode than you have a driver/cable issue.

Trying to unroot Samsung Galaxy S7 manually with Odin

Everytime I try to unroot my phone with Odin it says the process failed and Auth failed, someone please help..
Download stock firmware from the primary root guide. Use Odin and select all three the ap and the two below it. This will recover you to stock. Without root. But first do a titanium backup or a nandroid backup of all your apps and contact.

Hate to say this again but just to make sure did you try doing factory reset and clear cache. Also if its still stuck then use odin to flash the s7 engineer root file then go into recovery mode and then clear cache and factory reset it should work fixed my boot loop when my phone was doing it.
I did all this Odin still fails, I've tried all three downloads from XDA for SM-930T which is my phone

Well if worst come to it goto best buy and goto the samsung depart ment and belike my phone is stuck in a boot loop and they told me to have you guys reflash it. Thats what i did when my recovery was messed up and had a boot loop. Just tell them that the only thing that works is download mode or if they boot into recovery mode be like the factory reset doesnt do any thing. But i would say do this if its and absolute last option. I would say look around the fourms and mess around with it a bit more and ill do the same since you already tried petty much every thing.
Trying to unroot
Same issue here with 930T. Had rooted and was unsatisfied but I tried flashing TWRP and now I can't even boot into recovery, goes straight into home screen. Now I can't unroot after trying ODIN, SuperSU, Samsung Switch etc. Would love some help.
Make sure you actually try each one of these steps - I actually tried all these steps, and the last step worked for me. Took me 5-6 hours to unroot my phone. I use a Samsung S7 (SM-G930W8).
1. USB Cable matters. Try a different USB cable (best if it is the OEM one, if not one that gives enough power)
2. Plug into a USB 2.0 instead of a USB 3.0
3. Uninstall Kies
4. Re-install your Samsung USB drivers
5. Use a different computer
6. Use a older version of Odin (3.10 did not work for me, when I changed to 3.9 it worked)
Why not just initialize using smart switch.
So I would suggest going to this post here and downloading the ODIN 3.12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
I was trying to unroot for a clean root and this one worked for me the one made by PrinceComsy did not work for the flashing the stock ROM but it did work for flashing the ENG Boot ROM. I used 3 out of the 4 file to flash the stock rom I didn't select the BL file at all but you can if you want.
If you need any further assistance/help please reply to this and I will try to assist you further.

G930F - flashed wrong recovery. Have I got any chances?

Hi guys,
I have flashed SD recovery over Exynos (idiot - I know!)
Have I got any chances to recover the device?
I have got g930f.
Bootloops at Samsung Galaxy S7 logo.
Will boot to download mode, visible in odin but upon flashing anything it will immediately restart and odin will FAIL.
Anything to revive this brick?
Thanks!

Hi mate
Probably yes....
You could try to reflash the correct recovery first.....
Custom like TWRP
Check here
Or the original one
Check here
Worse case scenario flash a stock rom (odin) Use all 4 files AP, BL, CP and home_csc to try to save your data ( has to be the same as you have in your phone now) or CSC this will give you a clean installation

Last file I tried to flash was whole system rom. Just before that, I tried to flash TWRP for s7 exynos - the correct one but it failed. And, of course, it all started with flashing incorrect twrp which went through perfectly :/
Thanks

When you get home, just try installing "Samsung Smart Switch" (it's no longer Kies) (http://www.samsung.com/sg/support/smartswitch/Smart_Switch_pc_setup.zip)
I understand that you already have drivers on your PC, but the Samsung Smart Switch might come with some updated drivers for your Samsung S7, which might change the scenario. Installing that, plus using another version of Odin (run it as Admin). I used this one just today. (http://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3-v3.11.1.zip)
If the flashing the recovery still fails, try flashing Stock rom under AP like suggested earlier. If that still fails.
Use Samsung Smart Switch's "Emergency recovery" but do the Initialization (2nd tab) by inputting your Phone model and let Smart Switch download the official firmware from Samsung's servers.
This must be done while your phone is in Download mode, so make sure you have enough juice to wait out the download process.
Good luck!
