i don't think so bcs they are different hardware parts and when you overclock cpu it is sth about cpufrec but yeah when you overclock cpu it effects graphics too bcs it makes processes faster ...( i just think like that bcs of being a linux user open source foreveeeeeeeeeer )

i think it is possible ( when i think that they are like little computers) but i dunno how to do it.
to start, youd probably want to dissect the software driver and see what it offers.
Well, when we will able to overclock GPU - we should not buy new and new devices, because our present devices are old. But how about temperature? Will battery get hot like in overclocking CPU?
well, from what i understand the gpu for most devices shares space with the cpu on dye and that there is a divider of sorts that keeps the gpu speed a percentage of the cpu.. and since cpus can oc better then gpus, the whole reason we can oc is due to the fact that devs have figured out how to uncouple the clock increase of the cpu from the gpu, otherwise the gpus clock would limit the cpu.. now overclocking itself doesnt increase heat and most of the time (depending on what governor is used) it doesnt always run at full clock so theres not a high constant current drain causing the battery to get hot (unless you run an intensive app continually) also, you wont see the cpu overheat as long as the voltage stays stock, but increasing cpu voltage is how you will get past the th max (thermal maximum)
now if you could adjust that divider you could oc the gpu..
Does anyone know if it will eventually be possible to overclock the GPU in the Nexus 5 to match the S800 MSM8974AB chip?
The S800 chip in the Nexus 5 is the MSM8974 chip which has the GPU clock of 450MHz, but there is another version of the S800 chip called the MSM8974AB which has the GPU clocked at 550MHz.

It will definitely be possible with kernels. Don't know how safe it will be to overclock by 100mhz, but on my HTC One Elemental X gives the option to overclock from stock 400mhz to 550 (very bad for the device though). So the Nexus 5 will definitely be able to hit 550 as well.

I Overclocked the CPU to 2.5GHz via a custom kernel, but I am unable to pass the 450MHz of the CPU.

which device use MSM8974AB chip?
I have the Z1 also, which has the same chipset as the N5. There is a custom kernel for the z1 that OCs the GPU to 533mhz which I run stably with excellent battery life. So I'm sure it's possible to do the same with the N5 since it's the same processor. I have 600MHz GPU overclock implemented in my kernel for the Xperia Z1, which uses the lower binned version of the msm8974 (the one that comes with a stock clock-speed of 2.2GHz).
We have 450/487.5/533/600 MHz scaling steps.
You can take a look at the OC commits here, it's pretty straight-forward:

It is, but not yet implemented on the nexus 5 custom kernels.
Also mhz does not mean voltage (V) or (uVolts on this case). MHz means a frequency of 1 million times per second (used on this case for CPU, GPU, RAM speed)

True, but @Carter07 is right that if the maximum allowed voltage is too low the GPU won't be able to sustain higher frequencies, as those demand more power.
The 600MHz OC is stable with the stock voltage, though, at least on the Z1 it is.

You can flash Bricked kernel and use Kcontrol to force-overclock your gpu up to 650...but I wouldn't recommend anything above 550 since you will get little to no performance and it'll consume a lot more battery

There's no recognisable boost in performance apparently. And yes,battery drain will be higher if you raise voltages and you also risk damage to the core.

So i downloaded kernel :Sultan-kernel-Pure-v1.7.0-Pyramid-Aroma.zip
6.5MB, which I think is the latest one. But i am not familiar with those because it is my frist time to flash my own rom and kernel. I've done everything right but can you help me set up the kernel? which is best? because there are numbers in it and i dont know what to choose. Also what is best setting for saving battery life? overclock, underclock, undervolt, cpu freq, gpu freq, thermal throttling., what are those
I also apologize for posting like 3 threads for this because im a newbie. I hope you consider. HELP me please.

for good battery life put these settings:
cpu freq: whatever freq you want but maximum at 1.5ghz
gpu freq:266mhz
undervolt:whatever value you want but maximum -50mv

Is it possible to implement gpu undervolting into a kernel for the Xperia Z5 I'm looking at you @AndroPlus XD , cpu undervolting is very much possible, it helps reduce heat and increase the lifespan of the chip, so if we can do this on the cpu why not the gpu?
For the Z5 undervolting the gpu isn't necessary.. And I dont recommend doing it either..
The reason being (from my experience and attempts at changing gpu governors and clock speeds)..
I have come across the following scenarios/issues.
1.. Changing the GPU governor from the default governor with 3CToolBox Pro to a different governor force reboots the device instantly and reverts back to default governor settings..
2. Min gpu clock speed is 180Mhz and may is 680Mhz. While playing graphically intense games the gpu barely increased in speed.. It was literally idling at 180Mhz and barely flinched up any higher. Changing the Min speed made no difference in performance.. But from what I remember device still gets hot but not hot enough to cause any concern..
If you're going to undervolt the gpu my advice would be to decrease the maximum gpu speed to like 450 or 510 because as I mentioned above, the gpu speed almost never even increases past minimum that I have noticed when monitoring.. So setting the gpu may speed down 1 or 2 levels would be better and atleast a tad safer incase of sudden voltage / overvoltage spikes..
That's just my 2 cents and friendly advice mate. But I would like to know how you go with this and would love to hear the outcome once you have gone through with the tweak. Let me know how it turns out.

1. thats because some of the options arent even gpu govenors,
2. im pretty sure xperias newer than 2014 will have something called AVS which stands for auto voltage scaling, im not sure if this is the case with z5 but im no dev so i cant confirm my self.
and the snapdragon 810 is known for a being a cpu that gets hot, i believe the z5 has a newer version with the problem somewhat fixed but that doesnt account for sonys somewhat "meh" method of cooling but atleast its way better than before.
Just leave it on default tbh. Unless you're adamant on undervolting lol

3)which is better 4 Cores and then restricting to 1.5ghz (or any other frequency which u would seem for the power saving) or switching off permanently and then setting the frequencies at about 2 GHz
