Hello all. . .
Longtime reader (learner), first time poster. Trying to bring son's GS5 back to life -- it's stuck in boot loop ("Samsung GALAXY S5" splash screen appears, reboots). Unknown cause, not due to any flashes, ROMs, ROOT, etc
All attempts to enter recovery mode (Vol up + PWR + Home) initially successful (get blue text: RECOVERY BOOTING. . . .) then display goes black, repeats. -- never see Recovery screen. Yes, I've cycled power, battery out, wait, etc, etc.
Can successfully enter Download mode, Odin v3.09 recognizes connection, but all attempts to write to memory fail.
GS5 displays:
ODIN MODE:

Cannot determine build number and original box long gone. I've downloaded a couple firmware zips from sammobile (Sprint CDMA) using files nearest to best guess for purchase date. Is it necessary to match the exact files which originally came installed or should later firmware releases also normally load? In other words, is the fail due to trying a wrong firmware revision?
Any other info I need to include here? Thanx in advance!

I am using Galaxy Y S5360 and also my phone is rooted. After some fooling around in the new rooted device i guess i bricked it.
I had installed supersu and also different kernel version and also the creed custom rom. After some unknown things i landed up booting my phone where the screen just shows the Samsung galaxy y young written and nothing. I tried getting into recovery mode but with no success. I tried flashing a stock rom via odin but its also says failed.
Here is the code
Code:

i am using firmware provided here. S5360_DDLA3_ODDLA2_DDLA2 (revision 1)
I am unable to get into the recovery mode. Holding the power up key and the home button key with power key just brings the galaxy y written in black screen and nothing else. In download mode previously it was Current Bin: Custom rom but now its Samsung official. And the custom bin down : yes(1 counts) is showing.
Please help me. How to get my phone back?
or which pit or csc or other files to be used with the pda?
or what shall i do to make my phone work again.
please help me.
Hey guys,
I normally never post "please help" threads, but i'm genuinely stuck on this one. I'm used to HTC devices and this is my first Samsung I've had and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but nothing seems to work.
I got a notification there was an update to the device so I ran the OTA update to lollipop, and since then, the phone was acting weird. A few days back, it froze and then rebooted itself and appeared to be stuck in a bootloop, not going past the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge splash screen for a few seconds before rebooting again and again. I tried to boot into recovery mode by pressing the Home + Power + Volume up button, and the blue "Booting to recovery" shows in top left, but then it immediately starts to reboot again. So recovery will not load no matter what I do.
I then downloaded Odin after some research and found the ALL_ATT_N915AUCU2COI2_N915AATT2COI2_CL5613658_QB6196305_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar file and was able to get the device into download mode. I put the file into the AP box, checking the two boxes I was supposed to (Auto Reboot and F reset time) and hit start. It passed. When it rebooted, it immediately tries to boot back to the recovery screen and the same issue persists. Odin output below:
From Odin Mode screen on phone:
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-915A

KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
DUALCOM SECUREBOOt: ENABLE(CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T2, R1, A2, P1

Once Odin does it's thing, here's the output from the program, which says it passed with no issue. However, it will NOT boot and continues to loop trying to load the recovery.

I tried to do the process again, same issue. I took it to a Samsung center in best buy, there's a small crack by the fingerprint sensor so they said they warranty is voided and they won't fix it but they tried to flash it as well and couldn't. But he didn't try very hard.
Not sure what to do at this point, if anyone could help or offer guidance I would be much appreciative >.<
I can still get it into update mode and I did something after that I can't remember but it popped up with the yellow exclamation that said there was a problem loading the firmware update. I tried downloading Kies3 but it says the device is incompatible, Samsung told me to try with Smart switch. I put the model number in and it asks for the S/N which I put it in as well to try and recover that way, but it says the SN is invalid no matter how many times I've put it in on either Kies3 or Smart Switch.
Please help?
Thank you in advance
Update: I'm a dummy and noticed I was putting IMEI in for S/N on Smart Switch - but I put correct S/N and Smart switch just closes.
I did manage to load PIT file and got rid of the recovery loading screen... but still just boot loops.. I'm screwed huh?

Hey folks im in australia and i have a S7 and a few days ago i did an update which crashed my whole phone and left me with a brick. It started with the phone on a reboot loop and I have had a series of errors trying to get it back in order and atm cant get passed
" Custom Binary (recovery) Blocked by FRP Lock"
So as of now when i boot the phone it goes into
" An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart Switch PC software. "
Then i press Vol Down, Home and power to get into Odin

I have tried loading multiple bootloaders in odin but all seem to fail. I never installed samsung kies or smart switch so i cant do a restore though them. For some reason the Vol up, Home and Power combination doesn't load into the odin menu to do a factory reset. I talked to the local samsung store and they said because my phone is an international model there is nothing they can do apart from replace the motherboard, which to me sounded dodgy. I have tried all the local phone repair shops and they are as stumped as i am and i cant seem to find any answers on the web, i apologize for my lack of technical knowledge in advance.
any help would be appreciated!
hi all,
so i got a screwed situation here, i have a SM-G925F 32GB (galaxy s6 edge) international
the problem is, it is softbricked, reactivation-lock is enabled and OEM Unlock is disabled :/ it has never been rooted or modified, its bone stock.
anyway i tried flashing the newest stock ROM, it gets stuck on boot.img or cache.img. i tried installing all the firmware components one by one. correct PIT file first, then sboot.bin, followed by boot.img. that goes flawless, i get the samsung galaxy s6 edge splash screen (prior to boot animation)
then i tried installing the modem, output:
<ID:0/003> Now Writing.. Please wait about 2 minutes
and eventualy return an error code, + the phone doesn't show the samsung splash screen anymore and goes back to that cyan screen which says something with smartswitch.
so i started again at square 1: PIT --> sboot.bin --> boot.img, that went flawless, got the thing on the samsung logo again.
but this time i went on and flashed system.img: output:

well, flashing system.img took aprox 1.5 secconds! thats impossible... what am i doing wrong here?
sidenote, <ID:0/003> Initialzation.. takes 3/5 minutes, some rare occasions, 2 seconds. is that normal?
i tried different ODIN versions, and also the ones from SkipSoft. i tried several different USB cables, 2 different computers and a lot of different usb ports. i also cleaned the crap out of my usb port inside the phone.
reinstalled drivers, turned antivirus and firewall defender off, always ran odin as administrator, cleaned the pc with ccleaner etc.
errors i keep getting are:
<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed
<ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!! [eventually does nothing and throws errors]
details about the phone odin mode:

Hi guys!
I have a problem trying to root my Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920I).
What I already have done:
- I installed Samsung Drivers on Windows 7
- I activated USB debugging on the cellphone
- Boot into "Download mode" (Home + On + Volume Down) --> Confirm with Volume Up
- Run Odin as Administrator and without Admin rights
- I plugged-in the cellphone via USB
- I clicked on the "AP" button and opened the "twrp-3.2.3-0-zeroflte.img.tar" & even the "twrp-3.1.0-0-zeroflte.img.tar"
- Default settings in Odin loaded
- I clicked on the "Start" button
- The process begins but after a few seconds the "FAIL!" message appears:

Before crying ..... did you remember to unlock the bootloader in Developer Options? You wouldn't be the first one to do that (as I look into the mirror, remembering my failure to do so) If you don't have that option, download Samsung's CROM app from the Play Store to unlock it. There is also the "Flash lock" option toggle in Odin, although I have never tried it since it is un-necessary on a 920F.
Good Luck. Feel free to click "Thanks" if you find this useful.

Hey forumber2!
Sure, here it is:

And after that is the "Downloading..." message and the "Do not turn off target".
Thanks for your help.
