Everyone don't wet it! The update will contain Band 12 VoLTE and E911. VoIT is in question? I got this info from higher tech support. Took about 4 days to get official answer. I believe this is the reason why we in the good old of USA haven't received this update sooner! They are working out possible issues with this radio update for marshmallow.
it's been known for at least a week or even more (on g+ post)
I will believe it when it is released.

So you can't wait a while lol? At least we will be able to take advantage of sd card. Oh and the phone is cheaper. Patience is rewarding. My old note4 had its last update in March I think to major software update from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1. 1 month vs many months. I'll take it.

Do plenty of research first. I sent my 6p back because after 4 days of normal use the frame was twisting. It would no longer sit flat. I carried my phone in my front pocket as i have done with all my phones. I also had much worse reception. I constantly dropped to 3g at work whereas with this phone I don't. If on Verizon there is also no visual voicemail so if you have advanced calling enabled you get text messages instead of a notification that you have voicemail periodically. Your mileage may vary but I couldn't wait to be rid of it.
*edit I'll also leave this little gem

If it's that big of a deal, you'd nut up and eat the difference, genius. I at least offered a solution that would get you M quicker than whining about it.
Waiting for the mm update patiently no problem... My moto pure working like champ, love this phone...
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
Same here.. got the phone.. it's working as it should be.... there are some fixes you can get from the dev sections... not like this phone came out the box broken that MM was going to make it feel like a totally different phone from what I bought...
You know Nexus phones get the updates right away.. so why didn't you just buy the Nexus instead of the MXPE? Sounds like a personal problem...
C'mon, apologists. Waiting a few extra weeks isn't the end of the world for most of us, but it should've been out by now, given Moto's near-stock software design. The fact that it's taking longer to update their brand new, revolutionary, carrier-free flagship than some competitors' heavily-skinned, carrier-variable models is a very bad sign about Lenovo's priorities.
If 11 months from now we're finding out that the MXPE will not be receiving Android N at all, we can probably look back to this episode and say: "you know, we should've seen this coming." I'm enjoying my phone, but I absolutely don't blame anyone for hedging in favor of the 6P despite a few weaknesses (no expandable storage) because of Lenovo's poor showing this past 3-4 weeks.
So, go to the dev section and install MM...

Can you link to where Moto/Lenovo gave the MXPE an exact date of when MM was going to come out? Last I heard they were rollin' it out in phases... and even then, there were no exact dates... if peeps want to spend more on the 6P/Nexus and not worry about delayed updates, then they should have bought it, but yet, they didn't and are complaining about the "slow" updates on the phone(s) they 'decided' to buy instead..
Go to the dev section and install those MM updates posted there if you guys are really that bent on getting MM on your device...
I can wait, nothing in MM that I really want, much less need, anyways...
A few weeks is nothing. We'll get it.
This isn't like the Atrix and ICS, where the phone was out for a fair bit and also canned once google bought Moto. The phone is new. If other regions are getting it first, then that's just how the testing works.
They really don't want a repeat of Lollipop. I heard horror stories on how badly that update botched the 2nd Gen Moto X.

Do those dev section roms include T-Mobile B12 & VoLTE support??? That's what many of us are waiting for. If it was only a matter of wanting MM then yeah, that's a no-brainer, but no way I'm going through all that crap for a rom that doesn't have the T-Mobile support I've been waiting for all along.
From what I can tell there is no band 12 in the Indian mm but doze works ****ing wonders on this phone even completely stock. I'm on modded marshmallow now and will switch to official mm when its released. Simple enough
By the looks of the regular galaxy s6 general thread, many international variants have already been pushed the android 6.0 update and a majority of the non-verizon users should have the update in the US soon. Anyone have any idea what the wait time is gonna be like for us poor folks who have verizon?
Should be at least a month after S7 debut.
I just read on Android Authority that the S7 will be announced on February 21st. So I hope that we'll get it no later then April.

Marshmallow has the doze feature that is supposed to help with battery life. But if you are constantly using your phone it may not help much.

Gonna be so pissed if it comes like a day before or after the S7 releases.

October 13th
Never, or the day before never.
Do you think Verizon will push out the February security patch to us before releasing 6.0? http://security.samsungmobile.com/smrupdate.html#SMR-FEB-2016
My "guess", they want folks to upgrade to the S7 and S7 Plus before the S6, S6 Plus and other phones get 6.0.x
I'm sure the 2015 "flagships" mentioned will get the update maybe 1-2 months after the newer phones launch.
I am mostly looking forward to better battery life on my S6. Today my phone completely died on me at 1:15Pm (unplugged at 7:30 AM). Went from 30 to 25 to 15 to 10 to 1 percent in about 20 minutes.

Yeah this seems to have been their strategy in the past as well. I am certainly looking forward to better battery life as well...hopefully. But who knows though. Even in the past they have pushed updates like the 5.11 update that promised to improve battery life a decent amount, but most us saw little to no improvement at all. It's hard to improve battery life on a super tiny battery.
I have Marshmallow on a Nexus 7 that will soon be retired by the vendor. I just got Marshmallow on my Moto 360 watch. Heck, I even have Marshmallow on a five year old HP TouchPad tablet that wasn't even designed to run Android.
My newest device? This "top of the line" Samsung S6, and no sign of Marshmallow. Smh...

Can anyone one tell me what it is about MM that has you feeling all this discontent? I'm confused, is MM going to transform your phone into this vastly improved device? Is this a groundbreaking upgrade frome the current operating system? Someone please fill me in because I want something lame to be mad at.
Sent from my SM-N920T using XDA Free mobile app
Outside of permissions control, what do we get in MM that we do not already have? I can understand Nexus users clamoring for it as they don't have half of the features out of the box as OEM devices but why us? Further, where did this notion that Samsung drops support of its flagships within a year come from. I have used Samsung devices including an S3 (ICS to KK), N3 (JB to Lollipop), and N4 (KK to at least MM) and all have been supported for 2 plus years. The Note 5 will get the same treatment.
Although I don't totally agree with those people who get all up-in-arms about not having the update, I can see the main point (at least I think): it may not bring super increased functionality or any brand new features, but the principal alone is what makes it frustrating.
Samsung, Tmobile, whoever it is should ensure a device, that is hardly 6 months old mind you, gets the newest update in a timely matter. There is no reason a phone released two years ago (HTC M8) should have MM before the Note 5. That's just simply not right.

In other news, its not about being upset at people wanting the update as much as it is about people creating threads to talk about the damn thing.
This is the same topic repeated over and over. This is pretty much crossed the line into spam.
I see all the other versions that got MM and they all seem to be having issues.
I'm fine waiting if ours comes nearly bug free.
Lollipop runs pretty good on mine, great battery and pretty smooth for the most part.

You're absolutely right brother, but watch out! We have update haters that'll cling to your thread and troll about how stupid it is to want to update your Note 5.
Samsung and T-Mobile forever lost the little respect I had left for them. The best thing to do is to use your Note 5 as a paperweight, because it died the moment you purchased it.
I also decided to make all future purchases with Apple. Apple's doing things right as of lately.

One thing we can count on is that Flex2 is probably EOL.
This perhaps not so soon. The phone is old just about a year and a half.

Unlikely.
Most variants (H950, LS996, US995) did not even get 6.0.

yeah, "got" MM. Just a fraction of devices got the update while majority is still officially on 5.1.1.
At least getting 7.0 on a snapdragon 810 is remotely possible... maybe LG decided to skip MM and go directly for nougat. But then again, why would they. They've probably already fired the last engineers involved in the development and nobody remembers last years flagship phone, even though there are DOZENS of users like us waiting desperately for a newer firmware
There will never be 7.0 for Flex 2 . Please guys, just be real..

You could now find Galaxy S7 edge running Android 7.0 on Geekbench listings.

Would Samsung be able to release the Nougat update before the end of this month?
Even if not, next month is a sure Nougat release month for our S7.

I really believe we could see way faster update this time around.
As the log article lays it out, some Samsung employee said the Note 7 Nougat update would come 2-3 months after its launch, and given that Galaxy S7 ad S7 Edge would get it before the Note 7, it should be due in October. And seeing them devices at Geekbench, I feel very positive.
This year, even a company like Huawei has a Nougat firmware leak for its P9, even before the Nougat OTA rolled out for Nexus devices. Google has definitely shared the Nougat code with major OEMs earlier than usual, I think.
HTC too has upped with game, promising updates for OneA9, OneM9 and HTC 10, before the end of this -- the special thing about the announcement being 'all carriers included' in the 31st December timeline.
So, I'm hoping Samsung is able enough!
What do you say?
I know Google has lately been both publicly and privately "shaming" and aggressively encouraging OEMs and carriers to speed up their update process. This relationship started with more timely security updates and from what I've read is translating over to faster system updates.
I believe unlocked versions will see 7.0 by mid October, and carrier versions by mid November.

Both the phones and android os have matured a lot these days; S7 edge with marshmallow on it is already near perfect; I myself don't get excited for the updates as often in the old days; have not even rooted this phone and Rom flashing is not something I'm doing a lot; so I prefer to wait for a polished nougat Rom instead of a rushed one.
Edit: For about ten years I've changed my phone every year as a power user, now for the first time I've been using this device for about five months and am quite happy about it; I'm not planning to change it until the end of twenty four months period if something with a big development does not come.

LG put Lollipop and Marshmallow just days/ a few weeks after nexus on G3 and G4 last year/the year before. So it's possible but samsung won't do it cause they don't need to hurry. See what it did to the note 7 rushing it on the market just to be there a few weeks before apple...
