Hello.
I've recently bought a new LCD and touchscreen, and ever since i replaced it the phone battery discharges while turned on (on charger and on PC), so i am forced to charge it only while the phone is turned off. Also when i plug the charger in, the notification light only blinks once. I've already replaced the charging port and i'm using the original charger. I'm using Lineage OS with the default kernel.
Thank you,
Mokustus.

Might be a problem with battery or some loose flex cable.
I've already swapped the flex cable, and the battery is almost new.

Did you tried checking all the flex cables or anything damaged for that matter?

It happened after usb port change? Don't keep changing your device parts unnecessarily.

No, it happened after screen change. I changed the port because i thought that was the problem.
Also, took the phone apart and put it back together, nothing happened.

Yes i have TWRP, and i just noticed it eventualy starts charging (TWRP and turned on) but it says "charging on USB" or something like that (i have to translate) and it charges super slow. Ampere shows max. 320mA. I've also replaced my ROM to sultan's CM13 to see if that's the issue but it's not.

When turned on it shows in the "Battery" section "charging on USB" (like it was plugged in to my computer). In TWRP it shows a + next to the battery percentage.

Let's try this again.
The problem:
- My OPO charges quite slowly on AC charger (max. 500mA),
- takes a while to actually start charging after i plug it in,
- in the battery section of the settings menu it shows "USB charging" instead of "AC charging",
- it isn't recognized by my PC, in device manager it shows Unknown USB device (device descriptor failed).
Things I've done before this problem started:
- Replaced the screen + frame.
Things I've done to try and fix the problem:
- Replaced the micro USB flex cable,
- reinstall drivers on windows,
- install a different ROM,
- i've also reassembled the phone multiple times
My presumptions:
- It's most likely not the battery because it's almost new and the phone shows it's healthy,
- I'm thinking it could be the connector for the micro USB flex cable on the logic board but it doesn't look broken.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem, or is this unsolvable (could the motherboard be broken)?
Wipe everything
Flash this ROM + OpenGapps (any of your choice)
Check if issue persists

Because of the kernel it has (which controls the charging)
Just try it (pm me for more help)
If it doesn't help (your device still discharges, then it's either the cable which you said isn't, or most likely the connector in your device)

Try a different charger? Also, if the phone was charged by USB, use the wall charger instead. Some USB ports may cut power when the computer is asleep, etc. For instance, I usually connect my phone to my PC using the USB ports on my monitor (just because they are conveniently located). Those ports get shutdown when the computer goes to sleep, which I always forget.

Well she plugs into the wall, never the computer. And the charger she uses is the charger that came w/ the phone. If its the charger that could possibly be the issue then I'll tell her to get it swapped out at an at&t store but I really don't think that's the issue honestly

Chargers can definitely just crap out, even if new. MicroUSB chargers are pretty common, and I've used ones for other devices (like my Motorola Bluetooth headset) on my One X just fine. If you have another MicroUSB charger laying around, its worth checking (just to eliminate the charger as the cause) rather than having to run to the store.
Otherwise, its possible there is something wrong with the microUSB jack on the phone itself, or some other hardware or software problem with the phone. If the charger is not the problem, backup personal data and factory reset the phone. If the problem still occurs, I'd recommend getting a warranty replacement.

Can you confirm that there was a "lightning bolt" in the battery icon in the status bar? If it's charging, there should be a lightning bolt in it. Check when you plug in the charger and just before unplugging it. If the lighting bolt is missing then most likely there is no current going into the device to charge the battery. It could also be a bad battery if the charger is working fine.

Hi guys,
Seems my One X doesn't like the USB port anymore. I'm guessing it's a USB hardware issue but I figured I would post before I call ATT and ask for a new one.
Here's the problem, I'm unable to charge or use USB, either with the phone booted or mounted in recovery. I've tried the official charger, several other chargers and different cables. Nothing seems to work. I plugged it in last night to charge and that was fine. I think what might have caused it is that I tried to charge it in my car with a charger and after plugging that in, my phone rebooted. Since then, nothing has recognized my device (for charging or computers).
Any thoughts or ideas?

Wait, does the LED blink when charging? I used a generic charger, and it did the same thing. Then I switched to an official motorola charger, and it worked fine. Now I found an old HTC charger that I got from a friend..and back to normal.

For the last 2 nights, my Nexus 5 has managed to lose power in stead of charging, see screenshot. I have no idea why the battery is draining when it is supposed to be charging. Also the phone is getting quite warm (about 40 degrees or higher).
Please give me a hint how I can solve this.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
Brings me to the following question: how come that when I use the charging cable that came with the phone, batterystats show Charging AC, and when I use the same cable but with an USB extension cord, the stats show Charging USB? Could that be the faulty cable?
I have no other extension cable at hand now,so... Maybe somebody could try this as well?

Their has to be a problem with the Samsung usb cables. Both of my Samsung fast chargers only use normal charging when using the Samsung usb cable. But when I use a different usb cable fast charging works every time.

I have also had the "slow charging" message with the standard charger and cable. I wouldn't worry too much about this, as long as your phone is charging reasonably quickly (in fact, I often charge my phone *really* slowly using my PC USB port whilst I am at work).
I bought a new charger to keep at home with spare cables, too. They charge very rapidly (50% in 30 minutes or so) and I would definitely recommend them:
Spigen Qualcomm 3.0 charger
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075V42TN8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Volutz USB C cables
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073V2LY6B/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hope this helps,
Steve
Anybody knows how safe it would be to charge the U11+ with the original charger for the Nexus 6P?
Thank you in advance
