S3 & Samsung S Health issues - Samsung Gear S3

Hi, got my S3 Frontier yesterday. I'm using it with a Mate 9 which was previously using it's own step counter. Previously on my Note 7 I had similar issues with the Samsung program....
I want to log steps - no more no less - but S Health counts trips in our John Deer buggy, so I have to remember to pause it before I set off and switch it back on when I start walking again! On the new watch, walking and running (which I had switched off on the phone) are combined as one exercise so it might be worse, although separate on the phone but no better, so maybe not.
Any experts who have had it longer have a solution or any tips??

[Q] Disastrous experience with Gear 2 paired to a non-Samsung phone?

Hi all!
When I bought my Gear 2 Neo to use with my HTC One M8, I knew it was not officially supported, but I read some encouraging posts here on XDA, so I decided to give it a go. So far, my overall experience has been completely dreadful:
Battery Life! When I saw 30% per hour drain on my Gear 2 (with not too much of "display on" time), I thought I've got a defective device. However, things came immediately back to normal when I disconnected the Gear from the phone. Did anyone else have such experience? Solved, issue with the specific custom ROM.
Using in conjunction with Bluetooth earpiece is a complete nonsense. I don't want to receive calls on the Gear when I have the earpiece connected to the phone. But guess what, you can't have them connected at the same time! WTF?
Where are the apps? All pre- and post-release materials suggested Gear 2 comes with plenty of useful apps, but where are they? I'm particularly interested in Runtastic, but, according to their Facebook page, their Gear 2-compatible app hasn't been released yet, and no ETA so far. Runtastic claims Samsung didn't ask if their app was available before putting its name on the press release. WTF?
No alarm functionality on the watch itself without a need in the phone, and non-Samsung phone alarm doesn't get propagated to the Gear.
I'd really appreciate if other Samsung and non-Samsung phone users could share their experiences with regards to the areas above.
Thanks!

Wow that's a lot. Let's see if I can come up with some answers..
1. I hear that battery drain is a known bug when connected to the HTC one. Not sure why it happens but it's been reported for mostly that device.
2. I'm pretty sure in order to use the Bluetooth earpiece with the Gear you need to connect the gear to your phone, go into Settings on your Gear 2, Go into Bluetooth, and connect it there so instead of having both attached to the phone, you have it Phone>Gear>Bluetooth (IE NOT Bluetooth>Phone<Gear|)
3. Samsung Apps store is not available on NON Samsung devices.
4. This is true and many people are looking for a fix. Nothing can be changed right now.

Strange indeed. Could be related to the Sense flavour of BT stack. I have a spare Google device (Galaxy Nexus), will try the Gear with it to see if the battery drain issue is cured.

According to the process described here, the audio device needs to be paired with the phone and not the Gear, while the Gear is somehow able to make the phone switch between the phone audio coming through it to the earpiece. There is also this video describing how it works from the user perspective.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way with my HTC One M8. It looks like it uses ONLY the "Phone Audio" profile while connected to the Gear, which effectively disables any other device relying on the same profile (e.g. the earpiece) to connect to the phone. If, nevertheless, you force the phone to connect to the earpiece, the Gear gets disconnected. I suspect, on Samsung devices, a different BT protocol (probably BLE) is used for communicating to the Gear, so it can stay connected to the phone while the "Phone Audio" is taken by another device. This could also explain the power drain above, as BLE is supposed to be much more energy efficient. The question is, of course, how to make HTC One to use it (BLE is obviously supported by the device).
It is possible to connect my earpiece to the Gear, but only as media device (my earpiece supports this profile as well). In that case it can be used for listening to music played on the Gear. But it doesn't help in the phone call scenario. In any case, the "transfer to earpiece" operation described in both tutorials (you can see the corresponding icon on the right side of the Gear screen in the video above) is not available, no matter if the earpiece is paired to the phone or paired/connected to the Gear directly (the icon is greyed out).
Again, I'll try to put a custom BLE-enabled ROM on my Galaxy Nexus (standard ROMs don't enable BLE on that device, despite the fact the hardware is present) to see if it behaves any differently.

This is true, but there are good people around who can make them available for outsiders like us... The problem is Runtastic app for Gear 2 or Fit (not to be confused with Gear 1) is not available yet, according to Runtastic themselves, and no ETA so far. This is despite Samsung press releases. Had I known this before buying my Gear, I would have given it second thought...

This is particularly annoying. What I really don't understand is why any other app notifications do get to the Gear, but alarms (even from 3rd party apps) don't. I'm completely baffled by that!

THX,that's encouraging to hear. :good:
One thing I've noticed w/my M8 & GEAR FIT:
If I'm not using the FIT (leave @ home etc...., out of range), the battery life takes a little bit of a hit. Otherwise, yesterday for example, battery life was stellar, still @ 50% after 18 hrs of total phone on-time.
Apparently, the FIT MANAGER app cannot be force closed, only disabled, so, I'll just do that when not using the FIT.
As for the GEAR MANAGER (for GEAR/GEAR2/NEO) it can be force closed.
So,I'm remaining optimistic regarding battery life once my GEAR2 arrives, especially since such is a YMMV, not only w/this discussion, but battery life in general.

I was quite surprised and satisfied with it as well!
I downloaded the sdk and was able to view the log of the gear and I can see there are a lot of errors for s health and other samsung services so if official support comes through from samsung, id imagine battery life will get better.
OK, reading all the replies, it is apparent nobody else has the same kind of dreadful battery life. So it must be the custom M8 ROM I'm using (Insert Coin). I'm going to reflash a different one (will try Android Revolution HD, as this one is supposed to be as close as possible to stock) and see how it behaves.
I did try flashing a BLE-supporting ROM to my old Galaxy Nexus, but it couldn't connect to the Gear. The Gear Manager was stuck forever while attempting to connect.
OK, with Android Revolution HD 5.0 for HTC One M8 the battery life is MUCH better, I think it'll stretch to 2-3 days the way it's going now. So one annoyance is solved.
However, the others are still pending resolution. The one I'm particularly annoyed by is the issue with Bluetooth earpiece. I just can't use the Gear if I have to answer the phone on it or on the phone, as I've been using Bluetooth earpieces for the last 12 years (since they appeared on the market more or less) and don't see myself changing it just because of this Gear stupidity. I'm investigating possible solutions (e.g. using Tasker or similar apps). Will post results here.
Another update, just found what seems to be a perfect way around the Bluetooth earpiece problem. A combination of Tasker and Secure Settings allows me to switch from Gear to my earpiece on incoming or outgoing call and then back to Gear when the call is finished. Seems to be working very smoothly! At least now I can wear the Gear throughout my workday and handle phone calls normally.
Looking for resolving other outstanding issues, the next most pressing one is alarm notifications.
Hoping to get working Runtastic when the company releases the app.
Last, having all these health functions (sleep tracker/pedometer/HR) and not being able to use them on the phone is pretty annoying. Hoping to get S Health eventually working on non-Samsung phones...
have anyone try the gear 2 with xpeira z1 or z2
iread in some website that the z ultra is work

So does anyone have a doc'd process and prerequisites on how to make these two devices even work. I have seen countless youtube videos with people walking through what the thing does and even paired to a htc one m8. I have done all the side loading of the APK's etc. Staging stuff where they suggested and so on. Still coming up with it not working. There is some magic that I am missing some where.
so far I have done:
Installed the Stubpak.apk one by one. Then installed Gear Manager, The phone see's that gear2 then pops up a Parsing Error and goes into the gear manager app pairing screen for ever. Nothing happens after that.
If anyone can shed some light that would be great.
Thanks in Advance.
how do you do it?

Hmm I thought your "solution" was a different custom ROM? Even if I sync an account with few (10) contacts it's the same issue for me...
dlog_system only shows Power Manager messages all day e.g.

S3 Stretch Reminder

When I first got my watch, when the inactivity warning showed up, it also told me to stretch and showed some suggestions on how to stretch. I can't seem to figure out how to get that to work now. Any suggestions?
Using a S7 Edge on final Nougat Beta, with Gear S3 Frontier on ~APJ9
Not at all sure what I did, possibly just opening S Health but, it started working again today...
Mine doesnt work are you on Tizen 3 or 2?

Question Dissapointed in watch 4

I use smartwatch since the orignal LG Watch (yeah, that square one) and I got hooked with that new gadget.
Since than I owned all of those devices:
LG Watch, LG Watch R, Moto 360 1 and 2, Fossil Gen 5, Gear S3/Classic, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch 4, Apple Watch 3,4,5.
I mostly went with android (owned all note phones) and then I got the iPhone 11 and then 12. I used then the apple watch and it was just a blast compared to all the others.
But then I went with the Fold 2 and I couldnt go back to any other phone. I knew then that nothing will come close to the apple watch (at least softwarewise) and I went with the galaxy watch 3.
I was pretty happy with it exept for some things like sometimes it would lag and software wasnt that great. But then I had big hopes for the galaxy watch 4.
I really like the design but the battery life is just laughable, even compared to my watch 3 which would last 2 days with AOD, continious HR etc.
The Watch 4 is laggy ( or not faster than the watch 3) and the battery life is just crazy bad for me.
I can BARELY get through the day (46mm classic) and if I do ANYTHING with it you can see the battery go down by the minute.
I really wanted to love this watch. I dont know if my watch is broken or something because I seem like the online one with these problems. The new wear os sounded promising but in my experience its just the "good" old wear os with a samsung skin. Still bad battery and still lots of hiccups in performance.
And no I have never been a fanboy for any brands I just like to use the products I like the most but the apple watch sadly is not available on android and it seems like the best option is the galaxy watch 3 or 4.
I think that you have a problem... I have a battery corruption of about 3/4% hour... I can do all the day and I still have battery... I use it even to sleep...
About speed... I don't have that issue... Is fast and furious
Absolutely more faster than my galaxy 3.
Yeah somethijng not right, this 46mm classis 4 lte I have is certainly snappier than my 3 lte, and battery life is about the same as the 3 lte.
Always on display, using Pujie black watch Face, lte enabled on auto, WiFi on auto, and use it to sleep track, have about 20% after wake up and pop it on charge while I have breakfast and shower and pop it back on.

I agree with you, the battery life is much less than my old watch active2 (i used to charge it every other day but with the watch4 i have to do it every day)
the performances are worse too... when my alarm rings in the morning i have to wait for the screen to wake up in order to stop it ant it takes some seconds .
but i'm finally able to use google pay instead of samsung pay and i hope that the software will improve over time

You can have both Samsung health and Google fit running at the same time, what I do!
My new GW4 battery goes down with about 5%-6%/hour, so roughly 15-20hrs (this with sleep tracking on, snore detection, all notifications on, some exercise (e.g. one hour swimming) and some new apps installation though not too many - maybe 5-10 new apps installed and NO/WITHOUT all time on display.
So not too happy with battery compared to my GW3 which I may reconsider keeping.
Also I was expecting more from Wear OS, notifications on Tizen were straight out of the box, here I had to install an additional Bluetooth notifying app so that all messages (esp. for Whatsapp, Messenger etc to ensure messages and photos come through)...
So first impressions not so good (also spo2 tracking whilst sleeping not working for me even though switched on)
Will keep evaluating but was expecting more, no WOW effect at this time...
I got the watch today. First thing I did was put it on my Watch 3 charger. It says charging, then after about 20 seconds says charging paused.... I have a NEW (less than 2 months old) Z fold 2 and when trying the wireless power share, it does the same thing. This is a huge deal breaker for me.

Something is wrong with your watch. Don't have any issues with my. In fact, the Watch 3 charger is exactly the same charger as the one that comes with Watch 4.
Mine (44mm) only uses ~20% overnight (8 hours) and that is with all the sensors going to continuously measure HR and SPO2. I have the Samsung Trio charger and just toss it on there prior to showering and getting dressed. Seems to work pretty well (shrug).
So with my 40mm LTE i got around 35hrs without Aod, Lte, Wifi, Gps and 10min hr - sleepmode/offline mode at night.
Now I replaced it with a 44mm LTE and I get around 40hrs with aod, gps, continuous hr, stress, etc. but LTE and Wifi off. Only on my 2nd charge though.

Btw, you don't need this, those notifications you want ARE all there. Just click more under the apps that show up in the phone app, then the drop-down above that says most recent, then click on it and select all. All there!
Yes however not All notifications pass through normally, there is no notification history, e.g. if you decide to reply to a message later, and there are no photos visible sent via WhatsApp, messenger, etc.

Does all the whatsap function like voice message and voice call works perfectly without any issue? Is it worth purchasing?
Anyone have any issues using the speaker on the watch? It's a hit or miss for me when it works or not either using Spotify or music I transferred via Galaxy wearable app
I've given my GW4 a good shot, but I've now gone back to my Watch 2.
The watchfaces available for the 4 are not good. Few have click-through to apps. Resetting is a chore because backup doesn't restore watchfaces or apps. But majorly the battery life is a real disappointment. I was getting 24 hours if I was lucky and not using it much for workout tracking etc.
Google Maps, Google Keep and Gpay were useful to have on my wrist but didn't outweigh the downers. I'll keep hold of the 4 and hope that software updates improve it.
Pity. I was really looking forward to Galaxy Watch 4.

Question Returned my GW4 Classic after 2 weeks

So, I received mine on September 1.
I just put in the return for today and will most likely send it back tomorrow.
Here are my reasons:
* Constant disconnects from sleep tracking
* Hit-or-miss notifications, they really just didn't work when synced from phone, GW3 never has this issue
* AWFUL, and I can't stress this enough, AWFUL battery life
* NO watchfaces
* Half Tizen/Half WearOS, neither one works
* How many of the actual features were dropped that were the point of buying this thing?
* Have I mentioned the just ridiculious battery life? Not even a full day with minimal usage
* Workouts just don't sync between the watch and the phone even though BOTH are samsung devices, sometimes, the workouts don't even start recording on the watch
After the watch ran down literally after 12.5 hours of use and then when I put it on the charger and the phone STILL read 84% charge while the watch showed 3%, I was done.
It's like they WANTED to kill this version of the watch and made something that just was totally frustrating to use and didn't work. They rushed this thing to market for whatever reason and did NOTHING to support it. It's literally half-finished in almost every way.
There is plenty of bugs that need to be sorting out on the Watch 4, I'm also a bit disappointed with it though some of the issues you have with your's i don't have, like battery life which is pretty decent for me and i have everything on continuous monitoring.
I've put mine back in the box won't be selling just yet, I'm gonna give Samsung a chance to sort these bugs out first, in the meantime I've gone back to using my Active 2 44mm, which has been solid for me for the past couple of years i've had it.
I think Samsung decided or was force to ditch Tizen in favor of Watch OS because of the pressure from Apple with the Apple Watch ie app support being the main thing, something that was severely lacking on Tizen.
I personally didn't really care about having more apps as i never used any other than what came with the watch, fitness tracking and notifications was all i needed and the past, & Tizen watches did this without any issues, even Samsung pay I could use running my card though Curve as my Bank doesn't support Samsung Pay, but alas it is nice to have the useful google services now on a Samsung Watch.
Ultimately the Watch 4 44mm i have is better than my Active 2 in many ways ie google pay, google maps & hopefully google assistant at some point plus a few new health features, but atm it just not there stability wise to be used on a daily basis.
Hi
Coming from the Gear S3 Classic.
SLEEPTRACKING - Consistent with performance I got with the Gear S3. No disconnects.
NOTIFICATIONS - Not noticed any issues with this.
BATTERY - I am now getting two days (as opposed to about 2.5 days on the Gear S3), that is AOD off, wrist wake up on, notifications on, Heartrate 10 mins, Blood Oxygen manual, using a watchmaker face. It would have been better if the battery time was the same as the Gear S3 but its enough to meet my expectations.
WATCHFACES - Only really use two, a Rolex GMT on Watchmaker and the digital one that comes with the watch.
TIZEN/WEAR - It works as well as Tizen did, some bits not as good some better. I expect it will improve with updates as Tizen did. Samsung Pay was very temperamental for me with the Gear S3 but works flawlessly on the GW4 as an example.
MISSING FEATURES - Agree with you on this one, not including Google Assistant is a big negative, Bixby might be a bit better but it is still not great and I do not use it. No sure what other features you are missing but not a big deal for me.
WORKOUTS - Not used these yet, and I only occasionally used them on the Gear S3.
Unfortunately we live in a time where phones, smart watches all get released with bugs and not quite polished OS, but they do tend to get it right overtime. The downside of being an early adopter.

I disagree with your last sentiment most of all. This was released without proper testing making us the (you pay) beta testers. This should have been tested A LOT MORE than it was. I don't think it was.
I'ts nice you only use two watch faces. That's you. Me, I don't want to have to give up actual functionality simply because there's new hardware that doesn't work with the software provided.
The battery DOES NOT LAST, maybe if you've turned off ALL functionality in the watch and are using it "watch only" mode, sure, but then, what's the point of having a smartwatch? I'm not using that much functionality, but waking up and seeing that I have less than half of the watch battery left after only one night of use to track sleep AND that the sleep app was disconnected halfway throught the night. What WAS IT TRACKING to use that much battery, then?
Notifications, that is a deal-breaker. The fact that notifications DO NOT TRIGGER for mail, and almost ANY of the other apps that triggered normally on the GW3, that made me just want to not use this "new" hardware.
If you're not using the workouts feature then that's on you. It's a very big selling point for most of us. If the accuracy isn't there and so many have reported that it isn't, then there's no point in the "upgrade" if you can't get the same basic functionalty you had in the previous version.
This may have been an "upgrade" in some respects, it was a HUGE step back in ALL of them:
* battery
* workout tracking
* notifications
* sleep tracking
* watchfaces
Those are the basic things that this was doing well in GW3 that are either broken or don't work in the GW4.
It's sad you don't think having non-buggy to the point of non-functioning software is your baseline. I work in software and I'd be embarrassed to have released this thing in its present state.
Calm down dude, just giving you my experience of it. If it don't work for you then send it back. Life is too short to stress about a watch.

Telling someone to "calm down" because they disagree with you is childish. You're coming from a watch that is YEARS old. I'm coming from a watch that is literally still being sold alongside this "new" one and being touted as the next awesome thing when clearly it's not.
* The software is buggy
* The hardware is lackluster (and not a vast improvement from the previous version)
* We paid for this, it wasn't a freebie, when you pay for a product that's talked up everywhere, you expect non-****ty results instead, what we got was subpar performance and a confusing mess for a UI/UX
Even the $50 trade-in coupons are coming up with issues. I've read over and over where people are being told you can't use the $50 coupons for WATCH-RELATED items at Samsung???
I don't have any of these problems to be honest.
Why post here just send it back and be happy...
Btw battery life, had mine about a month and it's increased week by week as batteries tend to do, getting a day and a half here with most things switched on...
What a pointless post, if you are not happy with your watch return it. Probably you have a faulty device anyway as mine has no issues at all with notifications, sleep tracking and workout syncing between watch and phone. With regards to battery life after a couple of weeks I am getting consistently two days with everything on except for AOD. This include an 1-hour workout a day. You say that the other poster is childish while your post is the childish one ranting in a forum about your unique issues instead of just returning your device and moving on. Plenty of options out there, good luck with finding a better one.
Interesting. I have none of the issues you are speaking of. My watch has never had issues with: sleep tracking, notifications, or workouts not syncing (and I don't have a Samsung phone).
With watch faces I pretty much use Matteo Dini's faces exclusively (have been for years) and he has all ready converted 31 of his Tizen faces to Wear faces.
As far as battery time I don't believe I have gone less than 2 days for the last 4 charges. I had a charge last week that lasted 3 days 11 hours. I do not have any functionality turned off. Location on, HR every 10 minutes, notifications on (texts, gmail, messenger), and always on display off. I only use bluetooth (wifi and NFC off). I also use bedtime mode when sleeping.
Have you considered if this might be an issue with your specific watch? Might there be an app you have installed which is creating these issues?

I had this issue at first, I would get notifications for certain apps on my phone but not my watch. The reason for that is because many apps are disabled by default, not because the watch is broken. There's a section in the Galaxy Wearable app for choosing what notifications pop up on your watch
Sounds like you jumped a bit quick on this device. Updates tend to always make them better and knowing samsung they tend to sort all these issues out and the new device 99% of the time ends up being the better device than the previous generation.
IMHO.
Samsung doing this ever and ever again...
Spit out "new" Product...
"Nothing" work... "nothing" available...
Few "features" Country restricted... so also not available...
IMHO not every user has time enough to wait monthS... sometimes yearS before "perfect" Product...
They NOT spread enough infos nor Tools to App Developer... to start BEFORE this "magic" is in Store...
This is so funny...
3 Apps...
No idea if it makes sense to buy Apple Product...
I have not enough money...
Only as info...
My personal opinion.
Best Regards

True. And that's why you don't be an early adopter if you want a "perfect" stable device. Keep using your current tech until the new stuff has been out, updated and reviewed so you can make an informative decision on what to buy. Don't be the guy that preorders and complains when it has an issue 2 weeks after release.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm still rocking the Gear S3, and I've wondered whether having MST might be the source of some of the Samsung Pay fails - it seems to me that sometimes the pay terminal picks up both the NFC and MST signal, and that causes the 'card read error.' I've even wondered if that might be at least part of the reason Samsung chose to remove MST, and why the newer watches work more reliably with Samsung Pay. It's just a theory of mine - welcome other views.

Me neither (Galaxy Watch 4), and I have POCO F3 phone and modded health monitor from Dante. Maybe it's bad bluetooth in his Samsung phone, so watch always connects through wifi which uses more energy?
Agree with original poster, did send mine back after 2 weeks. Not worth upgrading from my Watch 3. I will skip this year and see what they come up with next year. Using the watch with Fold 2. No major issues with Watch 3, occasional stutter switching between apps but excellent battery life. Screen always on, full day use ( 14 hrs + ) and at the end of the day still 36%...

I have like 50% with the same setting on my GW4
My first Smart watch so cant really comment vs any previous models.
Still, over the moon with my watch classic 4 - and yes, this is the "Dreaded" 42mm version - on LTE (durrr durrr dummmmmm!!!!! - cue evil music etc etc).
I have disconnected LTE for the most part as i can make calls via bluetooth using my phone - more than ample for my needs
I have also disconnected wifi - again, I don't need the extra connections when the phone is ample and i can watch youtube videos on my watch over the bluetooth connection on odd browser (completely pointless but proves this sentiment)
AOD only serves a purpose if you are heavily exercising or want to pretend you have a rolex or something stupid like that - that has been turned off as it takes about quarter of a second for the screen to wake each and every time i raise it to view - more than ample.
Yesterday i decided to see what all the *****ing about battery was about - Between 9am and 3pm i had only lost about 15% battery life.
There is ###k all wrong with this device

Question Galaxy watch 4 classic not work on non Samsung

I tried the 4 classic on my pixel 4 xl. It won’t finish setup. Tried three times. Took it back. Best Buy guy said there’s a software bug that prevents the Galaxy watch 4 classic from working on any non s22 or s21 phone.
What’s going on?
Wearables needs all it's many permissions or it will not load/work true even on a Samsung.
There's been an issue with the Pixels and Google even locked a thread about it on their own forum with no solution found.
Talk about sticking their head in the sand...
What does this mean? Basically you need an S21/22?
I run the app on the phone. It starts the setup and sits there about 50%. Then a notipops up saying you need to connect to the watch. It’s already connected. Tapping connect or cancel or whatever does nothing. The pop up just times out and goes away. The 50% set up or whatever the % is, it just stays there. Tried 3 x then returned the watch. The BB guy said it’s a software issue that no phones will work now with the current software unless the phone is the S21/22.
I don’t get it.

I don't know. Invariably Samsung will eventually fix the issues just don't hold your breath waiting for it.
As with most of the Samsung accessories it's optimized and integrated for the Samsung ecosystem. Even some Samsung users are having issues apparently.
The other side of this is sometimes you need to play with Samsung apps a bit. My Buds+ will run at first on the latest version of Wearables but eventually the audio screws up. Solution, install the older version which works, has a better UI and then Firewall block the the update UID for it so it doesn't auto update and self destruct
I make adjustments as needed... got a 2nd pair of Buds+ order, which shows you how rattled I am.
Wow lol. It’s been months and they haven’t fixed it. Insane. Could be on purpose too. Wanting to sell Galaxy phones. Hmm.

Well that could be Best Buys intent.
You give Samsung too much credit; this likely wasn't planned... which is why it happened
The original Buds were a mess when first released. It took a year worth of sequential firmware updates to dial them in.
There been reported problems with newer models as well I believe I saw as I was reading. Anymore I'll never preorder or be the first to buy their products or "test" their updates. Instead I buy when known to be good. It's always been hit or miss with Samsung to a greater or lesser degree. They are capable of producing exceptional products and bone rattling duds.
Best Buy intent? I was saying Samsung maybe did this on purpose.
Anyway.

there is a software issue or something make watch 4 classic dont work on non samsung or even older samsung like s9 s10 that make you have trouble and think about upgrading the phone which personally im sure its on purpose by samsung you may be able to connect the phone doing factory reset but me and alot of people cant connect google account to the watch afterward which there is no fix till now ofc hoping the new upcoming wear os 3.5 and one ui 4.5 update will fix it but if not thats just it personally i was so intrested in s22 ultra and was thinking to buy it before this happened but if the update wont fix it i will never pay samsung in my life in any sort of way

Factory reset is a waste of time; try a network reset instead!
Even with the Buds+ the getting them working takes some effort sometimes. The spen can be the same way.
If the Wearables app is screwed up, nothing may work. An older version may work but it requires some effort to load and keep from updating which would break it again.
Deliberate? No Samsung doesn't need to intentionally try to screw things up, it comes naturally Sammy's been dropping balls a lot lately.
I`ve been using my watch 4 classic with my 4XL without any issues since May before upgrading to my P6P. And after upgrading to my P6P I didn`t run into any issues. What I`ve experienced when setting up my watch 4 classic for the first time was that the samsung wearable app was switching screens after providing credentials for my g account and therefore was hiding the permissions quote and the wearable app was waiting for the authorisation to use the g account. Those sammy blue dots were circling around for many minutes. Happened to me twice. Using the back ´gesture let me grant the permissions needed and t he setup process just went through smoothly.

The infamous circling blue dots make me cringed every time I see them now. Like some alien from Star Trek eyeballing you
Wearables will puke all over unless all permissions* are granted. Something I really hate about Wearables. Reminds me of the bixby spyware. Lol, don't worry Samsung servers are secure... until the next hack
*check that all permissions have been checked manually as it doesn't always happen during installation for whatever reasons.
Thanks all.
I had the S22+. No issue. But returned the watch and phone because the phone screen shuts off if I don’t touch it for a bit when playing games. Some games I play auto battle and takes awhile so no need to touch. So I returned them both yesterday.

Only 8gb of ram, max 256gb internal storage and no expandable storage, rounded display corners... yeah I'm not feeling it.
Good call.
