LOL I received mine yesterday and I totally agree.
I got some headphones in my tmobile one. There white tho
I have noticed this trend for the Note series in AT&T at least... my brother got the Note 2 and Note 3 from AT&T and they did not come with headphones. For some reason they are anti-head phones. Anyways, all T-Mobile Notes come with phones. (I have the T-Mobile Edge & work at T-Mobile).

I was bored today and called Samsdum and AT&T. The latter gave me a $50 credit on my bill lol
Got some really nice ones with my TMO device.....maybe should not blame Samsung, and instead AT&T.....just another way that company is milking its customers for more money
True, but Samsdum really does not have any customer service department and their tech support, well.........I trust my 10 year nephew's advise more than most on the "support" AT&T is a company that definitely does nothing without making a dime. As a consumer, bahhhhh
As a stock holder. You go AT&T lol lol

All I got from AT&T is a $10 credit.... Oh well, something is better than nothing. LoL
Wait . . .
You're telling me that AT&T is not only charging the highest price (as of now) for the Edge ($946 off contract, $106 more than Sprint), but they're also NOT including the earbuds? What the actual <expletive>.
The buds cost $7.50. So they credit $10

I must be institutionalized by AT&T after 10 years and don't even expect earbuds! I prefer higher end ones anyway, so no biggie for me.

I'd agree with that. Would be happy to see a set of premium quality or say for example rebadged Ety's etc . That would be super. In fact really should be expected at this price point.
But if it's just going to be the usual junk, them better they just spare the environment, save their money and don't waste people's time.

While considering my Note Edge purchase, I saw a YouTube first look unboxing which helped me. It depends on whether you purchased it directly from a carrier (I have Sprint) or from a third party who gets it from Samsung. In Sprint's case, they repackage the Note Edge in their own box and remove the earphones. I got mine from Best Buy and it is the original Samsung box with earphones. I agree that carriers are pulling all kinds of tricks to up their bottom line. We pay enough for service without ripping us off on the small stuff as well!

[Q] Who is upgrading to the S7 or S7 Edge?

Today was the big unveil of the 2 new Galaxy S7 devices - 5.1" S7 and 5.5" S7 Edge.
Visually, there isn't much change. But from the inside, quite a bit.
Will you be upgrading to one of the new Galaxy S7 devices?
I, for one, will be going to Best Buy on Tuesday to place my preorder.
I'm gonna go with the S7 Edge for its many improvements over my S6E:
-Better SD820 SOC
-4GB of RAM
-Bigger screen but still one-handeable (for me) with its 72 mm width & curved back
-Better camera with faster autofocus & low light performance
-Fast wireless charging
-3600 mah (!) battery
-microSD support
-IP68 water resistance
-Change of scenery with the silver titanium color
I'm eligible to renew a new 2-yr contract after paying a $250 early upgrade fee, which I'll recoup after selling my S6E.
Anyone else doing the upgrade?
Sent from my SM-G925P using Tapatalk
I'll be upgrading after 4/1 when I am eligible to. Haven't decided which one yet, but probably the edge
LG or Nexus. Only way to get timely updates .

S7E may be sexy, but don't expect any Dev support. Smartphone-wise, I've been playing in these forums with the 6600, 6700, vogue, mogal, touch pro, touch pro 2, diamond, evo 4g, evo 3d, m7, S3, note2, m8, g3, s5, and s6 edge. All Sprint variants. It used to be normal to see 10-15 new ROMs each day on those phones. Now that smartphones are even more common than over a decade ago, I would expect activity to have blossomed significantly. Instead, developer interest and activity had been extraordinarily weak.
You can thank Samsung for most of that, and their wonderful Knox system, but also it seems that the Sprint forums don't have the stream they used to. Very disheartening.
So if you're eyeballing a new Samsung phone, you better like it plenty without root and without any customizations.
Only chance of getting custom roms and stuff is getting the full unlocked variant.
This thread alone is a good indicator of how much dev support/community interest there will be for the Sprint variant S7. G3 -> G4, M7 -> M8 threads would have had 100+ posts by now.
Luckily these phones are PRETTY GOOD stock-- I feel much better than some of those older phones, but not as good as they became after root. My biggest complaint is that I want AirAudio to work, and that requires root. Very frustrating. I still find it nuts that we don't get true administrative rights to our own phones. Could you imagine if you bought a laptop, and you weren't allowed to log in as Administrator or root? That wouldn't fly for a second!

The only reason I'm on Sprint is the unlimited data. As I understand it, I'll technically lose that when I sign a new lease, or whatever. I believe they are trying to get rid of grandfathered unlimited data people. Until then, I'll probably stick with 'em.
Nexus 6p will be my weapon of choice next time, switching to project fi as well, need the front facing speakers that I had with the m8 downside is lack of sd card but will get larger storage to make up for it

After 10 yrs of Loyal Sprint service they cancelled my service for to much "unlimited data" usage (I was at a 2 yr low when they did)!
Too much "unlimited data"? Yep, I later found out that they monitor anything over 20gb!
Basically they screwed me and I'll take any chance to bash their weak network!
Oh well, the network is crap and data speeds can't even compete with Tmo!
You'll be happy with the upgrade of phone and carrier!
How have you been btw?
Just dropped my, most likely final LP rom and waiting for Tmo to hit us with MM.

Seems like you were abusing the network if you were consistently going over 20gb each month. Sounds like you were tethering. Anyhow, when you compare to the other carriers, Sprint still has the best data rates, and most lenient 'unlimited' plans.

Leave it to Verizon to Neuter the S7

Been looking over the user manuals on the Samsung site.Looks like once again Verizon has removed the stock Samsung browser which also prevents using your finger print to log into internet sites as well as no smart manager and no find my mobile.Maybe more things that I have not noticed yet.Wished I lived in an area that had decent T-Mobile,Sprint or AT&T service.
Yeah, I switched to tmobs. Havent looked back. So much better, unlocked bootloader and all!!
U should also mention the unlimited data and better coverage! (Locations may vary, but CA it's a guaranteed)

That's what I did. Best move ever. The best part is when vzw tried to get me to stay
Why are you leaving sir?
Because I'm going to be paying half as much for twice the data
Well sir, it looks like you only use 5 gigs a month, you don't need that extra data..
So your argument to get me to stay is that I don't use enough? I used 5 gigs because that's what I have and I'm responsible. Plus the overages are insane.
Well sir, at least give us a chance to try to match it.
...
Their best offer was actually $20 more than what I was already paying when I decided to leave lol. Verizon is delusional. Anybody that stays with them is throwing money away.
I travel all over the US for work, and tmobile is **** compared to Verizon in MANY areas I go to. I have both a tmobile and Verizon phone with me on these trips, and while it is getting less common, there are still many times my tmobile phone doesn't work and my Verizon one does.
So it isn't as black and white as people with Verizon are "throwing away money"...

Probably some kind of agreement with Verizon or Google.
My guess would be because of the add-blocking extensions

I think this was supposed to help cut down on bloat too. But I read a lot of the Sammy apps are in the play store or the galaxy app store.
Verizon users can't access it in the play store either.
Couldn't you just get a S7 from another carrier or the unlocked international variant and then activate it on Verizon?
don't know if it works that easily. I would have, but i didn't bother chancing it since I went full price.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Luckily side loading doesn't require root. I don't see any reason why this couldn't be side loaded if Verizon really does block this from the Play Store. Didn't Verizon get sued some years back for blocking apps on the Play Store?
Verizon doesn't block it from the store on the s6 and ad blocker was put back in the store by Google last I heard
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
So has anyone tried installing it from the play store or sideloaded with any success?

Sprint

Will Sprint offer the S3 Frontier with LTE?
I am looking for the same answer...
No
Just heard from Sprint Customer Service - the answer was a definite NO - baffles me why they are passing again
So lame. They're the only carrier that didn't have a 3G plan for the S2, also.

The network has to be able to support the same sim in multiple areas I assume.
Looks like I'll get the Tmobile version then
They're apparently planning to offer it with or without the LTE. I just found this:
https://m.sprint.com/shop/mobile/shop/accessory/ao/accessory_details.jsp?accSKU=108000031
It's an S3 band. It's marked as sold out but it's an indication that they plan to sell the S3. We'll have to see whether they'll support LTE.

Too late, I already ordered the S3 on Tmobile
I'm with VZW and went with the S3 on T-Mobile. $20 unlimited everything wearable plan. I would have paid more on VZW since I still have unlimited data and could not share the data. Happy so far. Seamless connection, call forwarding etc. Paying half of what I would have paid with VZW. I'm glad VZW wasn't on board for the launch or I would have missed out on saving a lot of cash.

I was in the Sprint store upgrading to a Galaxy s7 and asked the rep if they were getting the Gear s3. He said yes, and showed me the press release on his terminal. Also, there is a dummy Gear s3 Frontier (no classic model) on display by the Samsung phones. The question he didnt know, is whether it will be the 4g stand alone model. Fingers crossed.

Whoever you spoke to is wrong. That would be correct if you had a regular shared data plan. They won't let you share if you still have UDP. I had an S2 3G and had to pay $35 for the line.

You are correct, I just called. I assumed the first caller would have looked at my account before rattling off a number. The person I talked to now was saying the same until I specifically said I have unlimited data, then they told me $35/Mo for unlimited talk, text, and 2gb of data...
I plan on waiting for a little while ( a couple of months) to ensure these watches are not exploding or smoking on my wrists... Then it's either Sprint offers the Gear S3 or move to Verizon !! What the #ell Sprint !?
Someone on android central said they saw one at a sprint store. The lte version. I havnt had a time to look myself
its annoying that no one is saying either way. Oh.. we have great deals. "do you have the s3? they suggest you call their customer service. i did and the response i got was they had the s3. but not the lte version. i could go buy at&t or verizon and use it on the sprint network.
i was like.. do you really think that will work. he was like maybe.
i was done. damn idiots. i would rather you say you don't know then give bad advice.

I'm on Verizon and went to T-Mobile to purchase the watch for myself. Told them it was for a friend as a gift, I still had to make a plan supposedly because they can't sell it outright. Either that or the guy selling it wanted commission for my purchase. The plan just for the watch is $15-20 through T-Mobile alone if you pay full price for it. Verizon wanted $35 because I'm still on unlimited data.

I have the S6 SM-S907VL, I had a Verizon S6 before I got the SM-S907VL, there is no difference in the phones as far as quality & specs go, the SM-S907VL comes with far less pre loaded apps though so it actually runs smoother & faster, the only problem that I am having with the Straight Talk phone is that there is no stock rom backup downloads or root methods for the phone, this has me really frustrated, however the phone it's is superbly smooth & fast, Straight Talks service is actually really good, I am really surprising by it actually, coming from being a Verizon Wireless customer of 15 years & then going to Team Mobile which has TERRIBLE cell service coverage & then going to AT&T which has good cell service but TERRIBLE customer service & adds all kinds of extra fees on the bill every month just like Verizon which is the whole reason that I decided to leave Verizon in the 1st place, after leaving AT&T I went with Cricket Wireless & Straight Talk Wireless, I have Straight Talk on my phone & my tablet is Cricket Wireless, I am thoroughly pleased with both carriers, Cricket is better than Straight Talk as far as cell service & speed b/c it is 4G & it is actually pretty much just as fast as AT&T's & with Crickets unlimited $70.00 plan you get unlimited 4G service & have mobile hotspot option on your device & if you connect a debit card or credit card or pre paid credit card to your Cricket account so that the bill is automatically paided each month then you get $5.00 off the bill so the bill is $65.00 a month, however Straight Talk I only pay $55.00 a month & it is now unlimited data but it is only 3G so it isn't as fast but it is surprisingly faster than I thought it would be, Straight Talk crushes Cricket when it comes to phone selection though, Crickets Phone selection is very limited as far as what they sell but of course you can bring any phone in & get it connected as long as it isn't Sprint or some of the older Verizon phones like the LG Intuitive VS950, Cricket's only good phones that they sell that I have seen are the Galaxy S series & the ZTE Grand X Max 2 & iPhone for those who are Apple fans, Straight Talk now sell a wide variety of phones, not just cheap phones either, they carry Samsung's flagship Note phones as well as the Galaxy S series as well as all the other brands flagship phoned & they carry the latest models as well as several of the older models, Straight Talks prices on the high end flagship phones are cheaper too, Crickets Prices on the S series is cheaper than Cricket but they only carry the 1 phone, the S7 is what is it at the moment, Straight Talk sells the S8 & S8 + & the Note 8 & many more, I was super resistant to leaving Verizon b/c it's cell service & customer service is hands down the best but they were getting $250.00-$400.00 a month off of me & that was just me, there were no other people on my plan, I had 2 devices, I loved Verizon & hated leaving them & struggled with it for a while afterwards, I especially struggled with being satisfied with other carriers, I was especially UNHAPPY with Team Mobiles service coverage & they did add a few extra fees on the bill & Metro Wireless cell coverage SUCKS as well & Boost Mobiles service coverage wasn't/isn't much better that Team Mobile & Metro Wireless, AT&T was almost as expensive as Verizon by the time they added all the extra monthly fees & but unlike Verizon their customer service SUCKS, after leaving AT&T & deciding to try Cricket Wireless & Straight Talk Wireless I can honestly say that I am now very happy that I left Verizon b/c I am extremely satisfied with both Cricket & Straight Talks cell service coverage, they both get service EVERYWHERE, I can be in downtown Atlanta or hours away from the city way out in the country & have no problems with cell service & I am paying way less money each month & the prices are fixed fees so there are never any extra charges & both Cricket & Straight Talk have good customer service, at this point I honestly dont know why anyone stays with with Verizon or any of the high end contract required cell carriers, it's crazy honestly, it's absurd to stay with cell companies that charge so much money each month for phone service, I now see those contract cell carriers as obsolete b/c their is truly no need for them anymore, some prepaid cell carriers have service coverage & spead that is just as good & comes with unlimited EVERYTHING for affordable prices & carry top quality mobile phones & tablets & Smartwatches.
