Pulling down drop bar blurry notification - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

If you pull down the notification bar on the lock screen without swiping is it supposed to look like this? I have to swipe up to view it which is annoying. I did a fresh install.

Something is wrong. It shouldn't matter if the lock screen is up or not

That's what I'm thinking. A bug. Thanks for the reply.

HTC ONE S unlock bug?

Do you have this bug?
Edit:
Youtube embedding is not working.
You can watch video on this link:

I wouldn't count that as a bug because your phone is not actually 'locked'. When you turn on screenlock with pin, notification menu is disabled untill you enter lock code.

Seriously? Not a bug.
You're clicking the gmail icon, which is animating the ring to the icon. Try grabbing the actual ring from the bottom of the screen and dragging it up, over the icons.
explain to us what are you considering as a bug here because i dont see any bug.
I slide down notification bar over the ring, enter in settings and unlock phone.
On GB on my previous phone (DHD) that was not possible.
Why to lock it if I can unlock it on this way?

This is a known "feature" since ICS 4.0. Ability to use the notification bar from the lockscreen. I assumed you were unable to unlock the phone using the ring, which is why I said what I did in my previous post. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but please try being a little more clear.
So, once again, not a bug.
However, I do understand that it seems unusual being able to unlock this way, but that's the way it is.
Ok then. But, this "feature" is stupid for me...

Understood. Love it or hate it.
I remember seeing somewhere a way to disable the notification bar on the lockscreen...but I believe it was through a 3rd party app. WidgetLocker does it if I'm not mistaken, probably some other lockscreen replacement apps as well. Check them out.
Ok. Thank you bro.

notification shade pulldown from lockscreen

I have two nexus 5's in the house. One I can pull the notification shade down from the lock screen and the other I cannot. Both are on slide for security. I am missing a setting somewhere that allows the notification shade to be pulled down from the lockscreen?

That is interesting that one allows you and the other doesn't. From what I understand its not suppose to let you pull down the notification on the lock screen.

[Q] Swicthing between the Status bars

OK when you pull down your status bar, you can sometimes (on some roms) swipe to the right or left on a blank spot and it will switch over to the Quick Tiles pulldown.
I have tried looking everywhere that lets me turn it on, or a Xposed module, etc.
I have no idea what it is really called. Anyone know/can help?
Roms that have it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537638 (Harmony)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2606917 (Paranoid SaberDroid + REMIX)
Roms that don't
Stock Roms, etc.
Thanks again for any info as this is bugging me.

But that only lets you from pulldown. I'm talking about when it is already pulled down. You swipe (like you would to clear a notification) on a empty spot and it takes you to quick tiles, and vise versa.

Oh right. It doesn't have a name. I don't know anyway to get this without flashing a rom to get it
Damn... that's the last thing that's driving by ocd crazy... My favorite rom doesn't have that and I have no idea what it's called or how to add it.

On the stock ROM, when you pull down the status bar, the icon on the right side top allows you to toggle between notifications screen and the quick tiles. Are you looking for that, but with a swipe instead? (if so, why not just click that icon instead? Saves you a swipe)
The swipe is good an easy. I missed it. The icon is just a bit too far away. Glad I have it in slim

My right thumb can barely move due to a injury. So swiping helps quite a lot.

[Q] Cyanogen OS 12 lock screen?

So updated today and I don't like the looks of the new lock screen. It's totally transparent. Can anyone pull the lock screen of the CM12 NIGHTLIES to replace it?
Me too. Can't seem to change the default lock screen... Weird... Any solutions?

Go to 'settings'>'themes' and click on the spanner icon and scroll down, you should be able to set the lockscreen wallpaper.

Thanks. I did just that, but after I chose a new image it did not show on the lock screen. The default image
stays forever, no matter which image you choose. I guess it's some kind of bug... Or maybe I'm doing
something wrong?

Once you selected the image/photo did you hit back, then tap the 'tick' button to apply the change?

No worries, it confused me at first, think it could be simplified so that the tick button appears once you have made a change so you can confirm. It only appears once (if!) you hit back.

It worked... This is really a stupid method to save a change...
What about a live wallpaper?
Edit: I tried None, Pick Image and System... but none takes (or let me choose) my default "3D Parallax Wheather" wallpaper. CM12 Nightlies do this by default. I guessed System take the system wallpaper, but unfortunately it doesn't. Maybe it's a bug which needs to be fixed.

Anyone found a way to get the CM nightly lockscreen to replace the COS12 one?
I think I saw somebody write somewhere that the Lockscreen is in the SystemUI, but unfortunately these are not exchangable between CM12 and Cyanogen OS12, so someone has to modify the CM12 nightly one, to be compatible with Cyanogen OS12.

[Q] Any way to remove "Swipe to Unlock" text from lockscreen?

I tried Screen Tweaks, which removes only the camera icon, Clean Lockscreen removes carrier logo, but Swipe to Unlock is persistent.
Can anyone point me in the direction of something to remove this (rooted D6616)?
I found this, but it doesn't seem to work on my Z3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51644214&postcount=4
Edit: Got it done...kind of. See 2nd post, keep getting these strange black bars that nobody seems to have in that thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/t...creen-t3028443

Edit update: I copied the modded keyguard.apk again, removed the text, and installed xBlast tools to make the status and navigation bars transparent. Now, if I'm on my home screen or somewhere the bars are transparent and lock and unlock, the bars are gone. If I lock from anywhere else, the bars are still there.
So now I guess I'm looking at a way to make them transparent on the lockscreen permanently
Bump...just tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/themes-apps/mod-remove-text-lock-screen-t3028443
And it works...sorta. It takes away the text finally, but I have these black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, here's a screenshot:

I've already tried re-applying the wallpaper and applying a different wallpaper with no luck. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Well I found a method that works, but it adds black bars on the bottom where the nav bar would be, and turns the status bar into solid black.

Maybe.
I am talking about non branded builds.
But anyway it does not matter.
Some people are bothered by the text, I myself...don' t care.
I really don't think this is hopeless...as you can see, I have succeeded in removing the text, but something is incompatible and causing black bars to appear as if I just initiated the notification drawer. I posted a screenshot in the OP. If I knew how to modify the APK myself, I would but I can't seem to find many resources on that.
Hopeful bump! Also update, I copied the modded keyguard.apk again, removed the text, and installed xBlast tools to make the status and navigation bars transparent.
