Mt7-l09 b571 - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Last year I updated the stock firmware towards Android 6.0. I'm not happy with this update. Since then, my battery life is shortened, GPS sucks and MirrorShare doesn't work as before anymore. I think I wanna perform a rollback.
I contacted Huawei Consumer support, this is what they said:
When you're wanna go back towards Android 5:
First I need Mate 7 (MT7-L09) rollback transition package from Android 6.0 to Android 5.1 (WEU Generic version)
After that I need Mate 7-L09 Firmware (Android 4.4.2,EMUI 3.0,V100R001C00B145,West European Region)
After that, through OTA you should get back to Android 5.0.
Has anyone tried rollback this way before? I noticed some threads about it, but seems like those members rooted their device and used apps like twrp.

Update: I tried this today. It stops at 5℅, I waited more then an hour. Shut down the phone and didn't encouter any problems. It's strange in my opinion, a procedure advised by Huawei doesn't work.

Question: Most Stable Firmware for TL10

Ok, so I've been flashing different firmware since buying this phone 4 months ago. I love this phone but I must admit, its software sucks big time. I cannot even count how many times I upgraded and rolled back. To be honest, it's very tiring. I have to backup everything everytime I upgrade firmware.
So recently, there's been a few new firmwares for TL10. I received an OTA almost 2 weeks ago (B329) and downgraded back to B120 because sometimes screen timeout doesn't work.
And then there are these:
1. B331 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/l09-tl10-ascend-mate-7-b331-lollipop-t3294677
2. B324 - http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=67023
B324 has 2 releases. The old one was released in December while the new one was released on January 7. Both firmwares don't have the same file size.
So my question, did anyone try any of the said firmware? I would just flash them but then again, I don't want to get disappointed.

Still on 5.1?

Hi guys, im new to Huawei coming from note 4. Like it so much better then Samsung!
I'm still on 5.1 emui 3.1 I see some of you already rocking 6.0. How can I get that and is it a stock rom? Im from Europe btw
Hi, I had the same version as yours in Europe. Through the HiCare app from Huawei, the system was able to check that there was a new version. It prepared the phone and I finished the update using the complete file available from the website (and here as well).

The hicare got an update indeed... But will I get a ota update or do I have to do it manual?
Is 6.0 good?
B560 MM is nice
You must have stock recovery. IMO, best to use a full ROM. The OTA probably is a full ROM though.
I'm having battery issues with b560. It lasts almost as half as on 5.1
I think im going to wait until I get the ota update
In B560 you lost the chance to hidden the navigation button, battery (for someone) is worst than LL.

Which updsate should I install on my mate 7... if possible

Sorry for this question, but this is the first time I use a Huawey phone, and I usually get only unbranded models (I've got LG G2, Xiaomi redmi 3, redmi note 3, LG G4...)
I've just received a Mate 7 L09 (dual sim) unfortunately with brand TIM, italian service provider (I don't know how deep the customization is...) and it never received any firm update (and I think it will never receive them!): it is still on KK 4.4.2 emui 3.0.
It is from MT7-L09V100R001C00B series and the version is 136SP01.
Do You think it would be possible to install somehow an unbranded firm? I would like to install at least LP (the best would be MM)
Take care that this is a company mobile phone, so, it would be nice NOT to unlock it
Thanks for the help and let me know if I have to provide more info.

HI birobiro,
You can visit this site: http://www.carbontesla.com/firmware-ota-section/huawei-firmware-ota-collection/huawei-ascend-mate-7-firmware-ota/ for a collection of all Mate 7 Roms
From Kitkat, you have to update to B127 first, then B328 and then Marshmallow if you want. Click on the download page you will have instructions how to update
By the way, I'm on 136sp1, does it mean that the version that may be installed can be 126 (smaller one)? And the update can be done through the usual way (float folder) or there is a different method?

Sorry, 127...

so you can process to B328. if you get error, try a smaller version of Lollipop
That's fine! Does the update have to be done in the standard way, or there is something special that I have to do/care?

Standard Mate 7 is easy to update as it should have standard recovery to do it, as long as correct sequence of ROMs are used you can go all the way to Marshmallow and newer is better.
BTW, you need to be clear of which phone you have. Dual SIM is not L09, it's TL10.
Is the phone gold coloured? Does it have 2Gb of RAM or 3Gb? L09 is 2 and TL10 is 3. Only TL10 was gold.

Honor 8 Nougat Super Battery Drain

I am using an FRD-L09 with EMUI 5.0. Current version is B385. I am experiencing serious battery drain issue. I hardly get 4hrs SOT. I didn't even got a chance to work it out on Android 6 as i got nougat update in the day i bought the phone.Any solution to this other than rollback?
If you want to try.....do a factory reset from recovery but if you are unsatisfied of battery life you could use rollback package (transition package) to downgrade, you will find theese files on honor site in firmware section, with instructions inside the zip files

Its best not to upgrade to emui5. I have done enough analysis and found many people regretting the upgrade than enjoying the new features. I'm yet to upgrade though I got the update out of the box.
Follow this link to rollback FRD-L09 to Marshmallow.

If a factory reset didn't work, try an update (if available)
If none of the above worked, you stunt have nothing to do but to rollback

Use the guide provided by rommco , and clean the apps in lockscreen clean up and it won't satisfy , better to rollback to emui4.1 , it was good .

Mate 8 general Forum is where you'll find your answer but be careful. You may get a lot of battery drain. I updated to nougat and didn't like it at all because of battery drain. Downgraded to emui 4.1 and although it's a little better, im still getting battery drain so I'm downgrading again back emui 4.
