Hello there! This is a flashable zip from @daleski75 that allows you to get full Pixel experience.
I tested it on AICP ROM and added updated and more apps!
Flash pico gapps, enable navbar and flash this!
Substratum pixel theme helps with the blue lines and icons!
Also, set them as default apps (dialer, messenger, etc) and grant them system permission and all other permissions required!
This is as close to Pixel rom as it gets!
Feel free to try and report back for errors and suggestions!
This includes:
1) Pixel boot animation
2) Pixel launcher
3) Pixel Icons
4) Pixel UI sounds and ringtones
5) All stock apps replaced with Google equivalents
6) Fully working Google Assistant
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By5PHlhkGX-oenY4eENGbHdGVnc/view?usp=drivesdk
1.Boot Animation (FullHD) https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr.../bootanimation-official-google-pixel-t3480843 black or white background
2.Install Pixel launcher and convert to system app ( titanium backup can do that) or Nova launcher
3. Icons are pretty much the same by default on AICP
4.Sounds can be found on web
5. Aroma gapps from http://opengapps.org/ site can replace default apps with google ones

None or few of this work is mine, i am just collecting all apps/themes/tweaks to make stock-based roms look more like Android L and have more features of Android L.
Root needed for maximum numbers of apps.
1. First of all, edit build.prop, find "ro.build.type=user" and change it to "ro.build.type=userdebug" (use es file explorer or any build.prop editor)
OR
Flash already edited build.prop flashable zip in recovery. Download from here
2. Reboot
3. Download calender, books2, drive, keep2 from here (other apps not tested but working links for them are below):
4. Uninstall old Exchange services (use any app like titanium backup) then install Email, exchange services, fit, from here
5. Play services (download from play store) or from here:
6. Search and launcher from here
7. Messenger from here
8. Play music from here (suggested to update from play store)
9. Uninstall old Gmail from system (use titanium backup or any other app), reboot, then install form here
10. Keyboard 4.0 (read notes on how to install):
apk
lib OR Download this and flash in recovery.
11. Sounds (Flashable zip) from here
12. Fonts (Flashable zip) from here
13. Icons (Flashable zip) from here
14. Bootanimation and Logo (concept) from here (by me)
15. Install Xposed framework from here
16. Download and install Android L theme from here (Thanx Paras Jasal for fixing the theme and uploading and Yogesh Gosavi for re-uploading and providing this link)
17. Download HKThemeManager from Xposed itself and enable it. Reboot.
Apply Android L theme in HKThemeManager and reboot.
Well Nice thread, But How can you differentiate the Android L theme (HKThemeManager) Version with the Android L theme(Xposed Module) - Actually I'm in Confusion which one to Choose ? Your Version of Android L theme is Good but not as fast as Xposed one in my device..
dialer's dialed digits not visible
I apply the android l theme by paras... In dialer when I dial any number using themed dialer the digits are not visible... I think the color of both background and dialed digits are same (white) .. Please fix this by changing the color of dialing digits in theme...
Apart from this awsome job sir... Well done...
Waiting for update...

excuse the quote, but is there a way to get such a dialer (dual-sim) on kitkat 4.4.2?
the post referred to and screenshot of the dialer can be seen in the pic. thanks.
Nice collection of useful stuff.. Awesome ☺☺
Bro Pls Include Inbox App, Material File Manager, Material Recovery, TWRP Recovery with Material theme, and i think some of the above mentioned apps are automatically updated to latest version and are available for 4.4.2 by default .... Anyway tnx for Above links...
no need now bro, as we have official lollipop 5.0 .. cool
I've flashed the latest OpenGApps package which contains Pixel Launcher and Pixel Launcher Icons on my OPO with CM14.1 nightly. However I found that it only applied to a few icons (see screenshot). I tried clearing all data of Pixel Launcher but no luck. I'm quite sure all these apps are the latest versions.
Does anyone have any idea on this? Any help would be appreciated.

OpenGApps: http://opengapps.org. Package higher than full (including full) contains Pixel Launcher and Pixel icon. If your system partition doesn't have enough space you can put a gapps-config.txt alongside the zip you've downloaded. Just follow the guide on its GitHub wiki page (https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options) and exclude some apps that you don't need. You can also tweak it further like uninstall stock apps while installing Gapps.
P.S. Aroma is not recommended if you're flashing it via TWRP. It stucks on the latest TWRP. But it works well with Flashfire.
If you're also seeking for the live wallpapers in the screenshot, check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/port-live-earth-wallpapers-t3481640

Well the aroma package features a user interface for you to select the items you want, however it will crash TWRP while flashing. Even if you are using Flashfire it's quite buggy when selecting the items, making it nothing like a pleasant experience. Therefore, I really don't recommend it. I highly suggest you use the stock/full package and set up a gapps-config.txt manually according to your preference.

Yes. It is included by default. Seeing it's just Pixel Launcher and Pixel icon you need, you can also try configure gapps-config.txt as only include Pixel Launcher and Pixel icons.
But just as the description I've made, I found that the icons aren't completely applied. In fact, only phone, message, calendar, drive, play games and play newsstand are in the new icon style. The rest remains the legacy appearance. I've googled for quite a long time and I haven't seen anyone discussing a similar problem.

Thanks Mate appreciate your help:good:
This is for those who does not really want all the fancy features that are present in Stock Touchwiz ROM and prefer to only have what is on Stock Android or Pixel-like experience.
All credits goes to the creator of each mod involved.
Requirements:
- Custom recovery like TWRP
- Rooted Phone (SuperSU / Magisk)
- File Manager with Root Access. I use Root Explorer
- OpenGApps (arm64,7.0) (package: stock/super/aroma) - This will enable some Nexus/Pixel exclusive features and install Google Apps that are preloaded on Nexus/Pixel Devices including apps that usually can't be installed as normal apk such as below:
- Google Phone
- Google Contacts
- Google Camera (Slow Motion isn't working)
- Google Now Card (swipe to right)
- Google Search Pill
- "OK Google" voice detection
Instructions:
* First thing to do is to flash OpenGApps via TWRP
Link: http://opengapps.org
* Install a navbar overlay from below thread to get Stock Android (AOSP) NavBar or Pixel NavBar. Install it as normal apk.
Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/substratum-inversion-ui-overlay-overlays-t3604341
* Replace the stock Pixel Launcher (located at '/root/system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt/NexusLauncherPrebuilt.apk') with this modded Launcher (link below). This launcher is basically the same as the stock Pixel Launcher with enabled features like round icons for app that supports it. More information on the original thread.
Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/launcher3-pixel-launcher-features-t3620972
* Below are some apps i'm using that are supported:
- Google Photos
- Google Play Music
- Google Drive
- Google Calendar
- Google Calculator
- Google Keep
- Google News&Weather
- Google Playstore
- Google Drive
- Google Calendar
- Youtube
- Gmail
- XDA Labs
- XDA Feed
- Twitter
And now that you got all that is required to have a Pixel-like UI / Experience, it's time to make your ROM lightweight.
* Create a folder in your Internal Storage or SD Card named "system" and inside it, create folders "app" and "priv-app". This is to make sure that you can always revert back the changes that you'll make.
* Open your File Manager with root access and navigate to "root/system/app" or "root/system/priv-app"
This is where you can find all the installed apps in your system. In my case, what i do is "cut and paste" the whole folder to Internal Storage and then reboot to remove the bloat that i don't need.
I am currently on Renovate Ice ROM - r98 build (AQF7 FIRMWARE) and below is the list of what i have removed.

I am not getting any Force Closes / Crashes / Errors. Just make sure to reboot your device after cutting and pasting system apps to your Internal Storage.
When you realized that you needed something back, just copy and paste the whole folder to where you got them and set the correct permission.
For the folder, set the permission to "rwxr-xr-x".
For the apk inside, set the permission to "rw-r-r".
then reboot your device.
If you want to have an updated google apps as soon as it becomes available, you may download latest apks at apkmirror website then replace existing apk in the system, set the correct permission, and reboot. I've done it to almost all google apps without any issue.
I will try to update this thread to include all apps that can be removed based on stock firmware that's freshly installed.

Sweet, I've actually a similar setup, except I'm just freezing apps and didn't bother flashing Gapps.
Also I'd recommend modifying key layout and use ASSIST for the key function. Having Google assistant on bixby button is dope !

Yes. I am aware of that but i don't really need it as i am having a great battery life and performace. Also, it can easily be installed back in less than a minute if i want to.

I am always getting that message even with custom roms but it always proceed anyway. I also have tried flashing gapps on stock rooted rom successfully before on my S8. Maybe your gapps is corrupt or not fully downloaded.

You can. Download shortcutter, grant it necessary permissions. Add a battery tile from shortcutter to the quick settings and anytime you click on it, it takes you to the battery stats. I have also disabled device manager.

I got the "stock" gapps package and can confirm that it works on stock rooted rom.
Google Dialer/Phone Contacts Messages apps flashable zip as system apps which replaces stock(AOSP) phone contacts & messages apps.
When you don't like stock(AOSP) phone/dialer contacts & messages apps, don't want to install separate Google apps and don't want to install aroma opengapps, here is tge solution. This flashable zip replaces stock (AOSP) phone, contacts & messages apps & replaces them with respective google apps.
If there are multiple phone & messages apps installed in your phone, you need to manually select default apps for phone & messages. (Default apps can be found in settings/apps/settings/default apps)
Note: Apps are unmodified, taken from Apkmirror website.

Download flashable zip from following folder from androidfilehost:
Arm64 devices:
Marshmallow-Nougat:

Oreo:

.............................................................................................................
Always use latest zip.
.............................................................................................................
How to?
Just flash zip from custom recovery like TWRP recovery.
How to revert?...
To revert to stock (AOSP) phone, contacts & messaging apps:
Just dirty flash your current ROM.
Or
Flash latest file from following androidfilehost folder:
Marshmallow-Nougat:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=223992

Enjoy!
Changelogs:
v3 - different files for oreo & nougat-marshmallow devices.
v2.1 - fixed not able to call bug.
v2 - initial release
Does it work on Redmi note 4 with miui rom
Important note: Before flashing v2.0 or less, you need to install Google phone app as user app (because framework has been not included in zip) otherwise you won't be able to call.
Zip with framework is under testing.
Updated to v2.1 (arm64): Fixed not able to call.

Latest available nodpi apps from APKMIRROR.
As google phone, contacts & messages apps are working perfectly as user apps, I think no need to flash them as system apps.. but then stock phone, contacts & messaging apps get useless & annoying if google apps are used... So in reality we need to only disable or deactivate or remove those stock apps. Now magisk is nice way to hide system apps.. also i found out a way to hide those stock apps without deleting them from their place...
So.. soon I'm going to upload those zips.. they are tiny zips & functionality wise universal compatibility with both arm 32/64 devices..
Error 6 on resurrection remix 5.8.5
Does it work on pie roms
For those who have problems with notifications using ZUI here is a possible solution that I found in one of the XDA forums.
Need: Root (Magisk)
(I think there is no way to revive notifications if they are not root)
you'll need magisk then flash this 2 modules;
1)quickswitch
2)shady launcher
(Both available here)
1)flash those 2 & reboot.
2)open quickswitch app & choose shady launcher then reboot.
3)go to setting>apps>default app>home app>shady launcher.
4)open security>autostart>enable for *your apps*
5)security>acceleration>setting>protection list>add *your apps*
side notes : setting>notification>notification management>*your apps*>allow
this fixes should/might be working for other device running ZUI CN too.

With that all (I think) notifications will work
But since not everything can be good, it has its bugs.
Bugs:
(Only using third party launchers like Nova Launcher, Smart Launcher, Microsoft Launcher, etc))
1.- Screenshot option not working
2.- Delete backround not working
3.- Tap to back to apps not working
Solution= Use Shady Launcher xd
Edit: Probably some are saying: "This works with any installable launcher as a system"
And correct, if it works with any launcher systemless xd
If you don't like Shady Launcher because of how dated it looks then I'll also give you Lawnchair Systemless (With this, unlike the previous one, if third-party launchers work)
Edit 2: Quickswitch is not necessary, you can skip it if you want.
Edit 3: Excuse my english, I use google translate xd
Edit 3: If for some reason it doesn't let you choose a default launcher when you go to startup, then go to the following address:
Settings > Apps Management > Defaults Apps > Home app > Select launcher systemless
Source: Original Post
This would be all, I hope it works for you and again, sorry for the lousy writing.
