hi .. i updated via OTA update the new nougat version which i love in every aspect but ever since my phone using the same out of the box charger and cable, wont go into fast charge, i tried to clean cach partitions and turn it off , different cable and clicking the option on and off in the setting for the fast charging,
nothing seem to get it to work....
i really miss that feature.
The other way is to do factory reset but make sure you back things up first.
How did you get the ota? Im still using the beta

Hello,
My phone was running a stock ROM, it was not rooted.
On Tuesday morning i received notification on my phone that I had an update for 4.2.2. I applied the update and it appeared that everything went fine. Unfortunately, the phone immediately began re-booting every two to three minutes.
I have re-set the phone to factory defaults - no change.
I have used different batteries - no change.
I have put the phone into safe mode - no change.
If I put the phone in download mode - it does not re-boot.
I have tried to revert back to an older ROM but ODIN errors out.
Does AT&T have the ability to re-push the update OTA or even roll back to an older version?
Of course my contract is 5 months away from being fulfilled so I believe that I would be forced to pay full price for a new phone should I not be able to resolve this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

your phone likely is not broken physically, it just needs to be re-flashed. the problem with that is, the flash files dont always get released or leaked right when the ota comes out.
unless someone has a better idea, your best option is probably to keep an eye on your phone specific forum for someone to post the flash file for this new update.
it really doesnt matter if they could push the update again, it would fail on verifying the current install.
if the device was unlocked, it could be rolled back to an older version. i wouldnt hold my breath waiting for them to do that for you.
you could check the forums and see if there is a way to unlock it yourself. some can be unlocked, a lot cant.

Update...I went to a SAMSUNG experience (or whatever they are called) in a Best Buy and I re-flashed the phone with 4.4.2...no improvement.
I have tried to root the phone with Towel Root and CyanogenMod but neither worked.
In additional attempts to figure this out, My son noticed that if the phone was connected to a computer, it did not re-boot. He though that it was related to it being connected to a power source so he plugged it into a charger, the phone would still re-boot.
So what we have determined is the phone needs to think that it is connected media device. The phone then works as it should.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? If the phone's battery dies and we are not near a useable computer, the phone is then again a paper weight.

you have got me on this one. it acts like a classic software issue. now that that has been eliminated.
you performed a factory reset after the flash im assuming?
i don't know what else to tell you, if the software is clean, it has to be hardware damage.
sorry
So i am in need of assistance. I have been running lollipop since it came out basically, but realized that my battery life and performance were suffering. So I decided to go back to kitkat. I flashed the 4.4.4 firmware then flashed the RUU to be safe. Then I reflashed TWRP and flashed nu sense six 4.4.4 v4.02. It is running great, the problem is mobile data is not working at all. I had this problem before. When I used to be on Kitkat certain roms the mobile data would never work. It just says "disconnected" and there is nothing i can do. When I upgraded to lollipop it fixed it so I forgot about it and moved on. But now that I am back to kitkat it matters again. Is there a way to fix this? Also a second unrelated question. My phone barely charges anymore. Any suggestions? I tried buying a new cable from walmart and it didn't charge it AT ALL. My current one is the original cable that came with it and it only charges if you fiddle with it a lot and get it at the exact right angle. When it comes undone in the middle of the night I am left with a dead phone in the morning.
anyone??
You probably needed to perform a factory reset with the stock recovery before you flashed TWRP. Try that and see.
As for the charging, I would first try to clean the usb port. There are lots of ideas on how, Google it. That's the most likely culprit.
I updated my (factory unlocked) S6 to Marshmallow 6.0.1 and for two days it worked just fine. Then suddenly the fast charge stopped working. when i open notifications it says: cable charge, 5 hours until full charge. I tried everything, i have 2 original adaptive fc samsung chargers and none of them works. plus an aukey fast charging external battery, but when i connect my phone it keep saying cable charge. i pushed the usb into the charger, i turned on the fast charging option in settings, tried different cables. then i tried to connect it to my pc, but it doesnt recognizes my phone, and neither does the Mini MicroSD Card Reader that worked just fine before the update. I did a hard reset, but it wont work. im thinking maybe something (hardware) broke in the second day after the update, idk. i remember conecting the phone at night before going to sleep to an iphone cube with the battery at 90%, but that wont explain why my pc doesnt recognise it. I NEED HELP, PLZ
Just a thought: did you enable fast charging option from the battery menu ?
Please read again
it clearly says i turned on the fast charge option in settings
"5 hours until full charge"
something else is wrong here

Why? How do you know? What do you think its the problem?
the weird thing is that when I connect the s6 to the wall charger it pops up the "connected as a media device" that should appear when connecting to a computer. AND when I connect it to the computer it doesnt appear, so I cant move files, etc.
I have the same issue! I know for a fact that it started right after I charged my phone a little on my friend's car charger. I have charged my phones on his charger in the past and have never had issues. It's almost like the phone got scared and locked itself down (stopped transmitting and recieving USB data, therefore not recognizing fast charger or mtp). I have been searching this issue for a while, but have not been able to find a solution. There are lots of people out there that have this problem! I have called Samsung, but they barely even wanted to talk to be because it is the unlocked variant (sm-g920i). Honestly at this point I would be willing to pay them maybe $50 to fix it. It's ridiculous! And I suspect that it is just their dumbass firmware that screwed me over!
I also suspect that is the firmware, but i have searched everywhere and the only ones that could fix it did it by changing the usb port (therefore it was a hardware problem). The ****ty thing is that this phone is too difficult to open, and too dangerous, i dont dare to do it myself, but i neither trust anyone who isnt samsung... so.. i think im just going to sell it and buy anotherone, or idk.. if you can solve the problem please let me know. I'll really appreciate it. (Sorry for bad english)
you might want to try clear both daavik cache and cache.
. I had a similiar problem, that seemed to clear it up.
to clear the dalvik cache i have to root it, and i dont want to in case i have to take it to samsung because maybe if i root it i will loose the warranty. and i already cleared all the other caches like 5 times, i dont know what to do anymore. thank you for the reply, if you know of anything else I can try...
I can confirm that it is not hardware related. I have replaced the board containing the USB port, but am still having the same issue!
And have you found a firmware/software solution to the problem? what's exactly your issue? the same as mine? no fast charge and not connecting to pc?
I also have the same problem, since wiped the device with paper and sometimes back fast loading, however the transfer via USB does not work. I believe it is software problem.
Yesterday I noticed that my data cable connects via download mode by odin, or as may be hardware if odin recognize?
guys,i got a galaxy s6 edge and i had a fast charging issue and i've checked all common solution like changing cables, chargers, even changed the socket but same issue exits my mobile charging in 6 hours and when i go to fast charge option in menu it turned on and at the moment of connecting the cable to automaticly turn off with no choise to turn it on again, any one please knows how so solve??
Hey Guys -
I was excited today to update my Shield Tablet (Original Wi-Fi (Not K1) to Nougat today and finished recently. Unfortunately, when I plug it up to change, it freezes for a minute then goes into a boot loop. To get out of the loop, I unplug it from charger. In fact, when I boot to bootloader menu, the volume keys won't allow me to select an item when plugged in.
My original charger broke long ago but for over a year now have been using a 2.4A charger without any issues. I tried charging it using a 1.2A, but still went into loop, too. Don't know why it only decided to do this after an update. Any suggestions?
BTW - here's how I updated if it helps...
1. Flashed 4.4.0 via ADB/Fastboot
2. Flashed TWRP (twrp-multirom-20160410-UNOFFICIAL-shieldtablet_m)
3. Copied SuperSU (BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524)
4. Installed FlashFire
5. Downloaded OTA for Nougat and flashed it using FlashFire (retaining root & Recovery - default options)
I looked up the OEM power specs and says 2.1A so going to try that out. I can see it having issues with hardware, but not when only change is software - plus - why when charging 1.2a did I have issues? Odd
Any suggestions or thought? Thanks!
I have the 32gb LTE tablet and mine behaves exactly the same way since I updated to Nougat using the same steps you did (after which a factory reset didn't solve).
I narrowed down the bootloops to when I use a Samsung charger (both Adaptive Fast Charge compatible or the older non fast charge ones). As soon as I plug it in to one of those it goes in a boot loop and doesn't come out until I unplug. The boot loops don't happen if I use an Apple iPad charger but it charges EXTREMELY slowly. It went from 0% to ~50% in about 7 hours!!
i had the excat same problem guys and there is a real easy fix check out this thread but make sure you get the right blob file

Hi,
As the title says I think it might have broken fast wireless charging. I actually had the phone running stock on the wireless charger and all was fine. It had charged from 14% to around 65% when I saw that there was a system update. It was only small so I figured it was the monthly security update. After installing it I can no longer use fast wireless charging. I put the phone on the charger and first i get the charging message, then the fast charging message and immediately after I get "wireless charging paused". I tried my wife's S7 and that fast charges fine. After looking it up on various sites I tried all the tricks. Changing the cord, changing the charger, trying different outlets, safe mode, factory rest, everything. Nothing works. I can use it for regular charging if I change the cord or charger brick, but that defeats the purpose of having fast charging. Has anyone else experienced this with the latest update? And does anyone have any tips or fixes for it? Samsung and Sprint are clueless. The only answer I get it basically bring it in for repair and pay us to fix it.
Thanks.
I don't know about Fast Wireless, I just have the regular wireless charger but wired fast charging is working on stock and even very modified software. Just do a Factory Reset and see if that fixes it.
Thanks for the reply.
Wired seems to be working as normal. I tried a factoy reset and still the same. I looked in Samsung's official forums and it looks like on the S8 sometime before Christmas a security update did the same thing to some phones. It's a pity we can't uninstall the security patch and see if that would have fixed it.

It is and old phone...you can go back with Odin but that will trigger the KNOX...
I think it was broken before that! I was having this issue well before and they offered to replace my charger then wanted me to send the phone in to get replaced (im rooted so its not going back) it charges on a non fast charger fine
Security Patch Rest
You have to do a complete factory reset. Install N920PVPU3DQC5 firmware through odin. Thats the first n920p 7.0 firmware.
It will update the firmware about 7times to the current firmware.
you can stop the updating at anytime between updates.
you have to use the N920PVPU3DQC5_Recovery.zip from android filehost.
