I'm trying to root my verizon s6 i have recently moved to Canada from the usa and i have a region lock on my phone i need to root the phone so i can take off this region lock. My build #MMB29K.G20VVRS4CP12 i have tried to use one click root it will just tell me that there is not a root for this phone. all i want is the region lock off my phone. i have also tried to make a 10 min call here in Canada that is supposed to undo the region lock that does not work. I am using tellus service for the phone sim card works in the phone just not able to send picture messages or download specific Canada apps. thanks for your help

So my cousin bought me a note 5 Verizon model from U.S , the thing is I think I get "software update is temporary unavailable"issue. a quick google concluded that I need a Verizon sim to get OTA updates . I was wondering is there any way I could update it without a Verizon sim , since I could no way get a Verizon sim in the U.K

Take your current sim out and try Samsung Smartswitch. Download the one for the PC or Mac and give it a try. If that doesn't work manually update with Odin using these files. You might be out of luck for the monthly security patches but it's not a huge deal as far as I'm concerned.

I have VZW note5 and i'm out of USA, using other carrier.
Connect the Note5 to pc
from MyComputer install Verizon Wireless Software Assistance.
After install successful, you can upgrade it from there
Hey guys! I just bought my S8 unlocked in Canada to use it with my sim card from Mexico, my S8 got blocked with that sim card and some forums recommended to use a sim card from the same country, do a 5 min phone call and everything will be nice. It didn't solve it but installed in my phone bloatware from Fido...
I fixed that lock region problem but not this one... Fido install as a bloatware Spotify, so I can only disable, cannot uninstalled unless I root my phone which I don't want to... Yet (at the end of the warranty) and of course, I want to install Spotify the premium one, but there's this little problem
app cannot be installed an existing package by the same name
I tried "uninstall" from abd with my computer and nothing... I tried using apk editor... Nothing...
If you guys know a possible solution another to root the phone, I'll appreciate

2. change your csc to xac, this is the unbranded canadian s8 firmware https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71525525&postcount=1413 this will wipe your whole phone and you won't have any fido bloatware
I get the same error unless I'm installing immediately after a fresh wipe. I dl everything I want then install it after setup.

Thank you so much!!! I did it and solve my problem!!! Now I installed Spotify premium and no problems at all:good:
Just taped *#272*IMEI# on my call dial and chose XAC and that's it!! I didn't even care about restore my phone like fabric... So better do a backup if someone is gonna do this

hi there am from Ghana , i bought a unlocked samsung galaxy which got sm g920f at the back( Europe model if am right) but its stacked on android 5 lollipop and wont give i checked for update and it says my device is up to date,so i opted to upgrade with odin, searched on line and found few different g920f firmwares without none for my country so i decided to download Nigerian,But it failed, the upgrade stops at system image<,got no luck with the UK version as well,thats when i decided to study the phone till i realized the phone is Europe model but somehow got verizon firmware install on it, in download mode the phone has product names as "SM-G920V and samsung phone info also gave same info about the model, please any help ,should i upgrade with SM-G920V firmware?

Yes you should look for firmware that matches yur phone models only. Am also in Ghana you may contact me if yu need any help.
My Uncle got me a verizon galaxy s7 from USA and now I am trying to run a 4G sim in it but it isn't working as VoLTE is not activating ( something called Advanced HD Calling) as verizon wants verification for it and as the device is here we can't do that
I was thinking of flashing an Indian Firmware on it
Will that help me ??
Or is there anything else I can do.

update 1 : I managed to unlock the bootloader
If it's a Verizon S7 it'll be a G930V which uses Snapdragon, you can't flash Indian firmware on it because India uses the G930F model which has Exynos SoC.
Also despite the bootloader unlock option being available and toggleable in developer options, it doesn't actually do anything on USA models. Don't attempt to flash custom recovery, it'll brick.
Your best bet would be to flash the unbranded USA firmware (G930U) which should rid the phone of Verizon, however it's unlikely that'd let you use local carrier VoLTE.
I can run an Indian Sim in this device its just that the Volte doesn't work
I can still make it work with an app from the provider
should i just make do with the app or try the unbranded firmware?
also the other s7 my uncle sent me has FRP locked and the seller can't obviously give me his gmail to unlock it.
Is there anything I can do to bypass it or do I have to send it back to USA? also i have no clue if it has OEM unlocking enabled
