did that and still the battery drains fast.. the screen consumption decreased to 75 - 85 % still high.. it was 35-40 % with lollipop!!! any thing else i can do??
Check your background processes, something isn't right for sure. Mine is normal.

this is mine.. strange!! hardware 100% software 0% !!!!
same issue on my honor.. updated from b521
I was also having huge battery drain, screen (hardware) was using over 90% battery while I even wasn't using the phone. Phone was really fast, but this version is clearly unfinished. Also many options was removed from the settings menu (some moved to submenus, very hard to find = not user friendly)--> I cannot imagine what Huawei was thinking with this update..
Now I'm back with (B521) Lollipop 5.1.1, and I'm getting 2 days battery again and everything is running fine and smooth! :good:
Same issue for me!
Hello,
I don't know what can I do. I must charge the battery 2 times a day. With custom ROM and Kernel ,also in stock unrooted and with locked bootloader. It's not normal, I think. Has anyone the same Problem? Maybe the battery is damaged. What do you think?
I think it's damaged .The second charge today.
Mine is very similar. I think our batteries are gone. I am about to do a factory reset and reinstall my ROM to see if it makes any difference to battery load.

Try it. No luck for me. I have no guarantee anymore.

Did you try to go back to Lollipop 5.1.1 firmware .264? Works miracles for me... as I have >6h SoT (screen-on-time) on Lollipop, but <4h SoT on Marshmallow
/PS: In my use case anyway, yours might vary, yet I believe you'll see a longer lasting battery
Same problem for me until yesterday. After repair with Sony Bridge for Mac and installing only important apps it is ok.
I can not add screenshots. BetterBatteryStats says 2,8%/h. 73% Deep Sleep. Usage: 1d 5h 12 min. Now 15 % Battery remaining.
Best regards
Kay

It seems that your phone is very activ in background. After resetting my phone the battery life is very good. I disable many background activities and install only important apps.
What is the name of your app in the screenshot?
Sorry for my English.

I start from beginning and the what happens.
First try to see what apps run in the background, maybe there are some services draining your battery. Is Mobile Radio Active draining the battery? If not than 100% that your battery needs to be replaced.
Try Nova Battery Tester (look for apk) set to long test and see what capacity it measures.

thinking to switch from MM to LL also...there is noticable battery in favor LL.except that no difference between this to.... what version of LL rom do you use?
it seems after reset and deploat alot of Stuff from MM ROM the Battery lifetime is better.
Also tried the new Android 7.1.1 AOSP ROM, perfect the Lifetime. But the Camera is really bad.

To all suffering from the same, just change the battery and it will be fixed. The battery won't last for over a year if it's been through excessive and rough usage. So change it and enjoy it as good as new.

The App I Use Is Not In Play Store Anymore, But There Is Another App Called "Service Disabler", But I Warn You, Back Up Device, But Mainly App Data Is The Only Thing You Need To Back Up In Case Bootloop.
Do Not Disable "Power Genius" It Helps Close Background Prcesses
DO NOT DISABLE "com.huawei.securitymgr" OR ELSE YOU WILL GET BOOTLOOP
DO NOT DISABLE "Fused Location" OR YOU WILL GET BOOTLOOP
You Can Disable "imonitor" And Other Services To Save Battery
I Think Thats All Garenteed You Could Save Battery
Actually, the best way to check your device battery is by using an app from Play Store, 'AccuBattery'. After a couple of charging and discharging cycles, it will tell you your battery's current capacity. Mine went down to 1300 mAH only. Replaced the battery and now the capacity is correctly reported as 2973 mAH (pretty close to 3000 mAH).

Purpose of this thread is to discuss how adaptive battery works, how long it takes in terms of data collection by the algorithm to get the best results and most of all, I'd like to discuss our findings with it off and on in terms of idle drain and overall battery longevity.
How can we get a definitive answer on how this is supposed to work?
Also posted 4 poll options to see what is working best for some of us.
There has been several on-going discussions on other relative threads such as https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/help/pixel-3xl-ram-management-problem-t3855914 & https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/how-to/battery-drain-t3856149 but figured we consolidate.
Ill go first.
Idle drain is drastically greater with adaptive battery on.
SOT on average is 45 minutes less with adaptive battery on.
I was able to get "more" out of my battery with adaptive battery off.

i got the phone last Wednesday, I want you to be right, but it just doesn't seem like the algorithmic AI learning is adapting fast enough...
Also my OCD isn't allowing me to tolerate it like that day after day until it decides to get it's act right.
Found this
https://stackoverflow.com/questions...tery-and-what-does-it-mean-for-app-developers
I still don't see why having adaptive battery on would get worse battery than having it off. It should get me the same battery life as having it off, only until the AI learns my usage better which by then it should extend the longevity of my battery
Left adaptive battery on.
Overnight loss is 11%
Look at the awake screen off time.
5 min phone call. Little WhatsApp and Facebook use.
With adaptive battery off I had 1.5 hour phone call 1 hour WhatsApp video call. Nearly 6 hrs sot, 3% overnight loss

Interesting... My battery life with adaptive battery is about the same as it was on my pixel 2, so I never thought turning it off might provide better results.

that defeats the purpose of adaptive battery doesn't it?
What diff would it make if you had adaptive off + restricting battery to apps manually?
Also, how do you restrict battery to apps? Everytime i search "restrict" in settings i brings up adaptive

Not sure but that's what I do for the best battery life. I don't turn off adaptive and just restrict apps I know have caused issues in the past for me. See the attached screen for where the battery restrict for each app is found.

Settings. Battery. Adaptive battery. Restricted apps.
Edit. You have to restrict the apps you want one by one. I don't think you can do it in multiples.

Hello, would you link me this app please?
Sorry for the OT.
EDIT: Oh another thing.
Guys you're forgetting about the core.
Settings > System > Developer options > scroll to the bottom > Standby apps.
That is what really matters
Go play with the different buckets

I wonder would these settings be saved to your gmail profile ? as in if i need to go back to stock or flash all would I have to re-set these up?
Have you noticed that your phone does not last as long after an os update or just out of the blue? I've faced this issue countless times while changing roms, os versions or even between minor OS updates. After spending a good amount of time researching about possible causes for overnight standby battery drains, partial wakelocks seem to be one of the biggest offenders. The android developer website is a good resource to understand what partial wakelocks are. And as it turns out, you can figure out the app holding the partial wakelock and draining your precious battery without root or any changes to the bootloader/rom. Here we go:
Go to settings > battery and performance (poco f1 on miui) -> power usage ->Tap on the clock on the top right corner -> check if the awake field below the graph is a constant blue line. Or if the device has been awake a lot more than the time screen was on. Other roms also have this graphical view of battery stats under some other option. If the indicators for awake time aon matchre in sync, then this guide won't be able to help you any further. Otherwise move to step 2.
Install better battery stats xda edition from here. Follow the steps mentioned in this post for unrooted devices.
Open the better battery stats app on your phone and make sure the device is not charging. Lock your phone and let it sit for a few minutes.
Open the better battery stats app on your phone and check the CPU state view in dropdown at the top of the app. If percentage of deep sleep is lower than other states and you have not been using your phone a lot since it was last unplugged then the battery drain is real.
Next select the partial wakelock from the dropdown. If an app has a 100% time for wakelock ( duration unplugged = duration of wakelock ), then the app is the culprit. Either uninstall the app, or make sure the app does not have permissions to run in the background to avoid the battery drain.
I used the above steps to find out that MyAirtel app was holding a partial wakelock on PowerManager.wakelock all the time (even when it was not in background). Deleting the app fixed my battery drain which went from 10% per 8 hours to ~3% per 8 hours.
Hope this helps people resolve their battery drain issues.
So what happen if there's no partial wakelocks that's eating battery, but the batterylife is still subpar?

Another way to do this using a USB charging monitor. To measure is to know but know what you measure!
A lot of mistakes I have seen on the internet is people checking the capacity the following way. They use the mAh that went into the phone. That is completely wrong since a batteries capacity in mAh is defined at the working voltage of the battery (3.7 or 3.8V) and not using the around 5V that the charger outputs. At QC voltages it will be even lower then!
The more correct way to measure a battery is to work in mWh (milli Watt hour) or the actual power going into the battery. With 'The more correct way' you must take into account that the charging circuit also takes a bit of the juice.
So in our case 3.8V and 4000mAh would result in 15.200mWh. So from 0 to 100% should result in around that value.
At this right moment I am checking mine after a year of use using the UM25C tester.
To be honest I am not really happy about the battery life since it drains about 2 to 3% per hour even during the nighttime on a Xiaomi.eu rom which even reinstalled from scratch to check if it helped.
My redmi note 5 pro is now on , and I bloody kid you not, 34% 6d 2h 3m, yes that is 6 days after I installed a clean rom. And yes, not really much use but still wifi active and a active sim card.
