Hello guys,my friend got this (SM-J7108) phone in Romania some weeks ago from emag.ro (A trusted seller). After a time the phone got an update and he made it, now there is no more romanian language, he can't use frontal camera or flash. He made factory reset, from the android and the recovery. I wanted to flash the android with odin but i saw that the phone is for Asia market and can't find the rom, is that true? And what can i do? He sent me photos with the box, a lot of chinese things on the box but the recovery is full in english, no chinese at all. I told him to make a ticket on the seller site to solve the problem but i first want to know more details about this phone and what really happened here. Thanks ! xD

Hi, well i rooted my vodafone 845 some time ago but i have serious problems now. At first i tried set cpu well it was fun but it like crashed and nothing helped, i didint know what to do, so i rooted it again like i did the first time i used fzf eclair 5.2 rom and then my camera did not always work, well i thought maybe it will work if i root it again. And it didint it f****d even more i followed alls the steps carefully but now the camera doesnt work at all and i cant even lock the phone it has no lock! When i rooted it i deleted the firmware backup so i dont have one now. I have only a New zealand fimrware from Huaweidevice com and i dont know how to write it in to phone. And a other problem is that i live in lithuania and i dont know if it will work fine with it. Guys please dont ignore this thread i dont know how to fix this phone i am a noob at rooting and rom writing. If somebody would help i would be really thankefull.
P.S
i am from lithuania so i think i need lithuanian firmware. And huawei device com only has new zealand and they deleted the other country firmwares dont know why.

I buy in china because i work here and i need tablet with phone, is more practique for me,
I only not install the firmware he told instal, im afraid brooke the tablet, is this the problem?

Hello XDA, it's been a long time since my last time in these forums.
It's been like a couple of hours I got my new Z3 D6603 and I have to say, the pre-installed rom has confused the heck out of me, and here's why:
I live in Greece, and here, there are 2 options for buying a phone.
1) You get one that is meant to have unlocked, Greek firmware pre-installed (Tagged as GR)
2) You get one that is destined to Balkan countries. (Tagged as EU) These are from 50 to even $300 cheaper but they come with an opened box,
and sometimes their warranty is not recognized by the official greek customer support , which I don't trust at all.
I wanted to pay a few bucks more and get the GR one from a shop with very clean reputation and I found one.
While I was unboxing it, I found out that everything was in German. I said ok, maybe the official Sony representative is in Germany (spoiler alert, nope).
I booted up the phone, and I am welcomed by a T-Telekom (I guess it's the same as T-Mobile) splash logo. The device is full of T-Telekom bloatware too.
I called the customer service of the retailer and they said, in their shop GR means it supports Greek language (like I'm a retard and I don't know Android supports Greek),
and if I want to install the official Greek firmware I will need to go to the retailer's local service. I called the local service and they said they can't do it (LOL).
I have rooted and tweaked a few phones in the past and I know it is possible, though, so I tried to find Sony's official firmware files, and here's where I got confused.
After some confusing times I finally found a file named D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf and I can't find a Greek one.
(Current build number after a couple of updates is 23.4.A.1.264, didn't check what it was out of the box)
Here are my questions:
What happens if I manage to install that .ftf file?
- Will it *void* my warranty (provided that Greek support is crap)?
- Will it get rid of the T-Telekom splash and be clean?
- Is that file official or there are any 3rd-party tweaks included?

Flashing a ftf doesn't affect your warranty because you'll still have your TA parition.
Flashing the global ftf will remove the carrier crap but you'll still have other bloat.
If something goes wrong you can just plug it back into Sony PC companion and it can restore back to the most recent update available for your phone.
Update: Flashed what I downloaded. Got rid of the T-Mobile crap but I can't update the phone. Got stuck in android 4 while previously I could update to 5.1.
I also used the Xperia Companion software to restore it but it didn't restore to the german version...

i'm new here so if i'm making a mess by posting here my problem, my apologies.
Here it goes, i'm from Portugal and i've got a S.G J5 model nº J500F, i didn't bought it brand new so in the first days of use i was gettin error in SIM service, so i went to a shop and explain to the guy what was happening and the guy told me it was imei issues and he could change it, at start it was everything ok the phone worked just fine, but i noticed the guy downgraded my android version from 6 to 5.1.1 and now the problems started again, when i install Facebook, Instagram and stuff like that, the phone crash and pop-ups with all kinds of errors ocurs, like Contacts As Stoped, Messages as Stoped, until i can't do anything in phone and need to wipe everything and make a clean install again.
The problem is, i want to upgrade my android version (my phone is rooted) but i don't know if i update it i will lose the changed IMEI that the guy put in there and then i'll not have SIM Service again.
Can somebody help me ? i'm noob in that stuff.

The motherboard of my G930F breaks down and I bought a new one from one seller.
Seller tolds me that my contry language was in the menus (spanish).
I just mount the mainboard and the phone works fine, but maybe the 75% of the menu texts appear in english.
I tryed to translate them with morelocale or some other apk's but the device must be rooted or make it by ADB.
Now, the seller is telling that I can flash a G930F firmware in my G930W8, because is "the same device".
I don't now certanly if this is real or not.
Can you help me? Thx in advance
They both use the same exynos could buy you can't flash 930f firmware to the 930w8 with Odin.
The model number in download mode will always be 930w8.

Yes, since it's the Canadian version, I would imagine the W8 ROM's Spanish language abilities would be limited. Even if there's a Spanish language option in the menus, Samsung wouldn't put the effort into translating the whole OS for something they're only selling in Canada, a country that speaks English and French. What you could do, though, is flash an Exynos custom ROM, which will work with W8 or F, and change your CSC (that stands for country specific phone, it tells Android which language and location to use by default) to Mexico-Unlocked or Spain-Unlocked. There are some Claro CSCs in there too, if you're in one of the many Spanish-speaking countries where they have a monopoly and you need their official apps to recognize your phone as a Claro phone. Just to warn you, if your phone has the Oreo update, this might not work, because even if you flash the Nougat recovery and bootloader, there's no guarantee that TWRP would be able to format /data and mount /system in the Oreo ROM to actually flash the Nougat ROM. If it fails, no worries, a program called "Samsung Smart Switch" can get you back on the working stock ROM with the press of a button. Even if it does work, though, you'll be downgrading to the 1.5-year-old Nougat, which you might not want. The SuperMan ROM developer says Oreo is coming soon though, he wasn't able to do it yet because he was in the hospital with a medical emergency until about a month after Samsung released the official F/FD/W8 Oreo Touchwiz ROM, so it's just a matter of patience. Your comment sounds like you can speak fairly good English, so hopefully you can make calls, text, and bookmark the Spanish versions of your favorite websites until a stock-based Oreo ROM comes out. I don't think it will take any longer than another month.
