Is it okay to back up my TA in Nougat or should I downgrade first ?
Thanks!
I don't think you can backup your TA above Lollipop, I think you must downgrade It to 5.0 lollipop in the first place and use Iovyroot to extract The TA.
Wait for a confirmation but I guess I'm right

Yea, I thougt about that as well.
I was not sure either because im pretty new to TA back up stuffs since i never backed em up until my last phone (xperia z).
Anyway, thank you.
I come from a Z too I know your pain with TA, iovyroot, unlock bootloader ect..
If you need some help ask via Mp
Here it's 02:46am I'm a little tired but tomorrow no problems
Downgrade to. 152 or. 200 of Lollipop.
Use this Guide
https: //twigstechtips.blogspot.nl/2016/04/sony-z5-compact-root-without-losing-ta.html?m=1
Its easy, good luck

The intention is to make a TA Partition backup, so if you advice to downgrade software that implies unlocking the bootloader so loosing TA Partition. I´m one of those waiting for an efective way of making TA partition backup on Nougat! Still waiting

at this moment it doesn´t exist an efective way of downgrading without loosing your TA. We´ll have to wait for a new xploit that performs a temporary root and a TA partition backup on Nougat.
I guess you can downgrade using a TFT using Flashtool without unlocking your bootloader? Maybe I'm wrong.

Of course it supports lte. And if you're just rooted you'll get ota's. You'll lose root when you install it though

jd is just trying to point you in the right direction: knowledge by intentional research.
as he said, you will lose root. after the ota you can simply reflash the latest superSU in recovery to gain root again. no wiping. bootloader will remain unlocked.

Assuming you meant "tweaks": If you modified any system files (or installed/modified a framework etc), you cannot take OTA update. It will likely fail. You will need to be completely stock (being rooted and/or custom recovery doesn't matter) - stock ROM, stock kernel

jd1639 gave you links to useful threads that you REALLY should read. Those threads cover a LOT of scenarios, and duplicating that information here in another thread is really not beneficial to the community. If you want to know how to do things right, read those threads - at least the first 2 posts in the two threads jd1639 linked to. Else, if things go wrong (because you didn't provide sufficient information in your thread), you are going to be creating a new thread "Help - my phone is stuck in bootloop"

Ok so i got my xperia back from warranty. and i´ve rooted it back when i had kitkat via the locked bootloader exploit. now im 100% stock with the latest update. i still have the kitkat tft. can i just flash it via flashtool and do the locked bootloader root again and flash a rooted lollipop rom via zxdual recovery? please spoon feed me a little
Anyway heres what i thing im gonna do:
1 flash the kitkat tft via the flashtool.net tool
2 run the locked bootloader exploit to root
3 backup TA keys
4 flash xzdualrecovery?
5 flash a pre-rooted lollipop rom.
Is that what i need to do ?

Hi
I have had my XZ for about a month now after an Xperia Z3 Compact. With the Z3C it took a little while before developer achieved root on locked bootloader with confirmed backup of any TA-data. I seem to remember that there was a bounty up for grabs for a while as well.
However. I see no such efforts being made to the XZ... The only option is to unlock the bootloader and thus void your warranty. The warranty is never a problem with a locked bootloader as I've had my old Z3C in for service a few times without any problems....
From what I've been able to find out, there are not many vulnerabilities in any of the XZ kernels that can be used to get root. And any other weaknesses I haven't been able to find either.
A last resort would be to try K*ngo Root just to be able to install a recovery and backup the TA partition. Ugly, but if it would work you'd just flash a fresh romantic over it and it would be gone.
Anyone with other ideas out there?

Until now... the only way to get XZ rooted is unlocking bootloader (if you XZ support it) ... Before do it is recommendable that you make a TA backup (Universal (Dirtycow-based) TA Backup v2)... to make TA backup you need Marshmallow (downgrade if you are on Nougat).

Hi,
I'm currently in a little mess. I was under ExistenZ and I want to try the latest 7.1.1 Nougat. So I relock my bootloader in order to flash the .223 via Flashtool.
When I'm trying to download the firmware via XperiFirm, I click on "Chek all" and I have always "N/A" instead of see the firmware number :/
I'm under Linux Mint 18.
Any hint to bypass this problem ?
Thanks in advance

I would try reinstalling Flashtool first and see if that helps.
Why did you relock your bootloader though? I don't think this is a required step.

Well then I don't know how to fix that problem.
If you want though...
I have uploaded 6.0.1 / 7..0 and 7.1.1 Firmwares for both Xperia XZ and Xperia XZ Dual to my google drive.
If you wish to use it here is the link to the folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1-5Lr_Sntl5bzU2eEZCaFA3azg
I don't remember exactly from which countries the firmwares I downloaded and uploaded there are.
Most are either Dutch or Customized Germany firmwares.
Otherwise if you want a different specific firmware, you'll have to figure out a way to download it yourself

You can still change language yes.
And you can still get OTA updates (when bootloader is relocked)

Xpericheck.com also put links to ftf of some variants, so this can e used as a substitute for not working xperifirm. The country variants doesn't differ much - mostly by the number of preloaded apps (some have facebook/spotify/avg installed as system apps) and by type of icons shown (nfc icon, lte vs. 4g icon, in NOBA you have icon indicating 2g/3g/4g even while roaming).
